    Last night had more to do with Nebraska not caring than being that much worse than KSU. IF Nebraska shows up, that's a closer game last night, but probably still a loss with the lack of pitching depth, much like the first game.

    Giving free bases to the leadoff man is an easy way to dig yourself a hole. 4 straight innings, either a walk or a HBP to start the inning. Not all is lost, as these were given by two freshmen (Chesnut and Howell) and the sophomore Hoppes. Hopefully they'll get better with age.

    Hard-fought series, didn't fold after a disappointing start to the doubleheader. Still a lot of work to be done but that is a very good series win on the road.

    Speed is good. It also has a lot to do with the field at Illinois. INCREDIBLY slow, every ground ball is apt to die in no man's land, I've never heard anything quite like it.
