  1. Roualdes dominated OSU last year, they're mostly lefties to my knowledge, I don't know, I don't see why we can't leave him in there.
  2. Why bring Hauptman in now? Let Roualdes go as long as possible with an 8 run lead.
  3. Mariot kept Nebraska in it as long as he could, 4 runs in 6 innings against OSU in that crappy stadium is good enough. The offense was terrible, loading the bases with 0 outs and scoring 0 runs and going straight off a cliff from there.
  4. They left an insane amount of runners on base in game two
  5. No sugar coating this, this game sucked. Bad pitching from Lemke and Yost, Nesseth was a stud. Go figure. Still, NU was as good or better than #2 Texas for 2 of 3 games, just beat themselves in game 1
  6. I'll stop short of calling tomorrow's game a must-win, but to get it done would really be a shot in the arm for the rest of the year. They have to know they can beat anyone at this point. I don't believe there are any pitching staffs left the caliber of UT's.
  7. Chase Adams closes it out as expected, if they had just brought in Roualdes last night, I believe we're in position for a sweep tomorrow. Them's the breaks.
  8. Lose to Rice 4-3, UCLA 5-4 and 5-3, now tonight. 5 runs from 4 wins over highly ranked teams Not to mention the 1-2 run losses to Fresno. I'm hoping they turn it around like '07: conference series wins down the stretch + their current strength of schedule ranking (4th) will be enough to get to the postseason.
  9. Wow, another 1-run loss to a top 10 team on the road. Giller had done more than enough and should have been pulled.
  10. Other staffs have done a good job shutting Texas down, even Iowa managed it for 3 of their 4 games against the horns (10 runs total through 3 games. Then 18 in game 4.) This despite the fact that Texas hasn't even left their home state all year, traveling as far away as Houston I wish we had that sort of luxury, not to mention their weenie early schedule. But Texas has some good pitching, the likes of which NU has been impotent against since mid-2006, so we could lose all 3 games 1-0
  11. If the coaches think he's the best we have at closer, I doubt they would have brought him in for the 7th inning against South Dakota State on a Tuesday game after using him sparingly the previous weekend against Houston Baptist. I believe Chase Adams will probably assume the role more often.
  12. Mariot pitched circles around him today ;p Of course it's just Houston Baptist. Oh well, after losing to a god-awful Cal-Bakersfield team last season, I'll take any wins we can get
  13. I wouldn't go that far. Seemed to me A&M was hitting every shot (some of that was poor defense), while NU was short on a ton of shots (NU also missed at least 10 free throws I think, and the final margin of victory was 10, hm.) 30 wins in a row is hard to do, it's basketball. It was bound to happen.
  14. OSU shoots 35% from outside all year, then goes 60% in the first half today. God hates Nebraska basketball.
  15. Elon is a good team to schedule, good enough to not be a stain on your schedule but beatable enough to develop some confidence in your team.
  16. 5-3 win over Elon, so 2-1 on the weekend, pretty good.
  17. As if that idiotic, large glass building right in the hitter's eye causing glare delays wasn't bad enough, we get raped on a balk call in Rice's last at-bat (bottom of the 8th) and lose 4-3. I hate Texas.
  18. I'm listening on huskers.com I got sick of the 30+ second delay.
  19. The game is on the Husker Sports Network, but KFAB chose to air Rush Limbaugh instead. I'm listening on a very fuzzy 1400 KLIN.
  20. This game may wind up having no bearing on the rest of the season, but I don't know how long to apply the "never been outdoors" rationale (I'll be nice and give it until March 1st).
  21. It rained in Stanford in 2008 which cost Nebraska the series win (complete with a 4-run inning late to blow a lead), they went on to have a great regular season, albeit with the familiar late-season collapse. So a game like this is not entirely uncharted territory. I expect better production from Bailey and Farst moving forward.
  22. Sounds like the field was damp, so Collins slips at the worst moment. First outdoor baseball experience of 2010 versus Fresno's preseason conference pitcher-of-the-year, not much to read into a game like that at this point yet.
  23. Because the baseball team gets something like 11 scholarships for 35 players, and nobody gets a full ride. Thanks NCAA.
