  1. Well way to let personal vendettas influence your judgement and not vote based on the facts. (Yes...sarcasm, smiley face, laughing icon here). Where are you from?
  2. So billions, dare I say trillions, of dollars have been wasted over time by politicians on the national, state, county and city levels asking (aka campaigning) for votes? No wonder the economy sucks. Think of how much money the world would have if there were just names on a piece of paper and they said "Pick one". The purpose of the Starting Lineup is to allow your peers an opportunity to give you a virtual "attaboy." In my experience doing the Starting Lineup at another forum where the idea originated, campaigning is viewed as "Please tell me how much you like me." I'd be concerned about a backlash based on that perception, which could cost you a spot you would otherwise have earned. Wow. I think some people are taking this thing a little too seriously and literally. I made up that 'campaign' message as a tongue-in-cheek gesture at 'trying to sway votes'. Backlash? C'mon...posting pics of me in college when I looked like I was in Jr. High and wearing my son's helmet at a Halloween party...like I said, it was just meant to be fun and an opportunity to post some pics I've had and think are kind of neat/entertaining. Good luck with the rest of the nominating/voting process. Also...a 'negative' rating on the post. Geez...

  4. Psssst...that's my son with that certain receiver in the Pavillion. A good friend works with him so we got to go have breakfast there.
  5. Don't close the voting yet!!! I just posted my campaign!!! CMB23 For RB!!!
  6. I'm still not totally understanding the roles and purposes of the Huskerboard Starting Lineup...but dammit if I'm up for nomination I want to WIN!!! VOTE NOW!!! CMB23 FOR RB! 1. I've been a member/poster since '06 2. Some names up for nomination are just recent/current posters...not tried and true. 3. I am a Husker Alum (1997 grad) and both my father and grandfater attended UNL. VOTE NOW!!! CMB23 FOR RB! 4. While I have and always will support and back Nebraska, I don't wear red blinders (aka rose colored glasses) and will be more than happy to tell you why you should see both sides of the line of scrimmage <---necessary football comparison. 5. My step-son has already been to Nebraska games, and even though he doesn't understand the difference between college teams and professional teams (he's 8...give him a break) whenever I have a football game on he always asks "Is Big Red playing?!?!" 6. I went to school with (Advertising Campaigns '97) with Johnny Rogers (that's my cheesy 14-year old looking mug back right with The Jet and the rest of our group. Yes...Jet and I were the only guys in our group!) VOTE NOW!!! CMB23 FOR RB! 7. I went to back to back National Championship games (Orange and Fiesta Bowls) 8. I was in the Fiesta Bowl program (from the previous Orange Bowl) and then on the cover of sellout #299 (that is me lower left in the black 'No Fear' hat getting crushed by the crowd). 9. I pretty much ruled the Caption Contests when they were held on a regular basis. 10. I'm pretty damn good at the look-alike threads!!! VOTE NOW!!! CMB23 FOR RB! Thank you for your support... CMB23 *This message is mainly for entertainment purposes only...but a little to win votes. The images includes are actually of me (young/old, my son, wife, Johnny Rogers, Matt Davison, and some other people along the way. Pretty cool huh?!?!)
  7. I apologize if this has been posted (No I didn't take the time to read through all of them yet...) but first thing I noticed is that there isn't a separation/break between permanant/pinned items and the regular threads. I liked that. The way it is showing now is that old threads that were pinned, are in the mix with current topics.
  8. Thanks for nomination BRI...but Killer is going to 'run away' with this one.
  9. Do that to your wife and you're sleeping on the couch for a week and eating leftovers for a month.
  10. Right now...seems like the same 5 people are being nominated for everything?
  11. I know they can be purchased from the University...I guess I'm wondering when they usually (how far in advance) they offer tickets for away games generally speaking.
  12. Any 'local' show that has a host that does national radio broadcasts for college football, college basketball and NFL football can't be all that bad...
  13. Other than two bowl games in the 90's (just happened to be both National Championships!!!...But That's Not my point!) I have never looked for or purchased tickets for an away game. Nothing has changed. I'm still not looking/purchasing. However a friend of mine in Oregon, who is a Nebraska fan, is looking to buy tickets for the Washington game. But they would rather sit with Husker fans or in a 'red' friendly area. Does anybody know when the University starts selling tickets for that or the best place (most affordable) to find tickets as early as possible? Thanks...
  14. i suppose that rules me out.............i hate using punctuation and grammer Classic!!! Guess you should add spelling to that list of flaws...It's Grammar.
  15. you kill me sometimes Well I mean seriously, why the he'll would you buy that for your son-in-law? And I have to wonder if she even bought them? We got some in the mail from State Farm insurance or something like that. Were they on an 8 1/2 x 11 white sheet and the 'snowflakes' are white/baby blue? If so...they were a free thing from her insurance agent.
  16. I've always liked T-Justice (whether it was Chan 3 or KPTM)...though I know a lot of people thought he was a pompous ass. Liked listening to him on Z-92 and on TV. With this and opening his coffee shops...sounds like he's had enough of the media game...at least from the on-air end.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's Big XII/Nebraska fans that thinks the Big 10 'sucks'. But I'm probably looking at it too much from outside of my Husker room.
  18. Also, I think of guys like Matt Turman and others that were just born and raised Huskers that probably could have had a better shot at playing at a smaller D-1 school or 1-AA (or whatever the hell they call it now) but walked on...took their licks...just to be a part of the program they grew up watching with their dads and grandpas. Some of them...including Matt...got a chance to shine. My point...all of the Walk-Ons through the programs history, especially those who stuck it out for all 4-5 years should be admired!
  19. Of course we will all think of Kenny Walker. I live in Glenwood, Iowa (about 20 min from Council Bluffs/Iowa School for the Deaf) and there is a little 'gem/hole in the wall' restaurant called "The Oasis". Kenny can be seen there every once in awhile having dinner. (I think his wife/girlfriend worked there part time, but doesn't any more so don't see him as much). The restaurant has some of his drawings/paintings that he has done (evidently a hobby?) and they did a corner of the bar in Nebraska colors/gear for him. **Also when I say hole in the wall...it's not a dump...it's one of those little places nobody knows about, but they have maybe the best prime rib dinner on Friday nights...Queen cuts for $15 and King cuts for $19 with salad, potato, bread. MMMmmmm.....maybe next week!!!! Come check it out and see if you can spot Kenny!
  20. Are you being serious of forget to insert the sarcasm button? So it was skill when Potter batted the ball (not to the left, right, back or down) straight up for Suh to stand under and catch (after he bobbled it)? But it was luck that Dareus made a strong defensive play and stayed home on his position to make a play on the ball (after he bobbled it)? Both made great runs like 300 lb running backs. Both were about the same distance, right around 30 yards. Suh had to shed one tackle from Cody Hawkins with a stiff arm. Dareus not only stiff-armed Gilbert, but shed two more tackles...one with a spin move. It was luck that Suh caught the ball and it went his direction. but it was more luck that Dareus got the ball after it got bobbled around by 4 different players. Luck vs. more luck....LOL...now we are breaking down levels of luck. Oh my fellow Nebraska fans crack me up sometimes!
  21. They look almost 'Callahanian.' Nebraska team outing photo from Sea World before Holiday Bowl... Alabama team outing photo from Sea World before BCS Title Game...
