  1. I think 7-5 this year. We realisitically could lose 3-4 more games this year - and that's BEFORE the bowl game. The myopian in me hopes it'll be two, but after putting the kool-aid down I realize the probability of making the CCG this year is now kinda low. Bo's got to get things right this year AND next, but I don't see it happening. His most veteran defense got lit up for 63. Even if we went -3 in turnovers, that shouldn't happen. I have to think back to why TO fired Doc: Was the program gaining momentum or losing momentum? Eichorst will NOT be as patient as TO.
  2. It was hard to gameplan for them since their offense was a complete unknown. I was happy to see good adjustment in the second half. Still - seeing some bad tackling leads me to believe we have work to do.
  3. ... Polish sausage.... Beer! Da..... Bearsssss
  4. I knew of a couple in Omaha that had been going to every game since maybe the early 1970s. Their streak was broken recently due to health reasons, if I recall correctly. Story made the World herald, too.
  5. Al-a-bama... Coached by Bear Bryant. Ozzie Newsome at WR. Didn't hafta look it up
  6. In person? 1984 Oklahoma. We get stuffed at the goal line, trying to go ahead by 10 and ice it. Next series, OU throws long down the field and they score (similar ending in '86) to win the game. Overall: 1. 1976 Oklahoma (hook and ladder play with Elvis Peacock scoring the winning TD) - first incidence of "Sooner Magic" and a childhood-ender, too. 2. 1996 ASU. Defense played well enough to win for most of the game. Frost didn't have the option down yet. 3. 1986 Colorado. WTF? 4. 1992 Orange Bowl shutout by Thug U (1991 season) ... A bowl shutout? Definitely WTF. 5. 1996 Big XII Championship. Hesitant to get into James Brown because of that game. Fixed now...Get On the Good Foot! 6. 1974 Wisconsin 7. 1982 Penn State 8. 1990 Colorado 9. 1985 Florida State 10. 1991 Citrus Bowl vs Ga Tech
  7. PSU's QB, #1, looked terrible against Illinois, snow or no snow. #11 though clicked when their big receiver #6 got in the game. That duo is kinda scary. However, both QBs and their backs seem to generate turnovers. I think we can win by double digits, but it could be real close, too. I think how well we'll do there really depends on how we fare this week. If Northwestern runs up and down the field (the may get a few drives, but I don't think they'll break 24) and the long road trip might gas our defense vs Nittany Lions.
  8. 1998. Broke our home winning streak that started after the 1991 Washington loss. Ricky Williams won the Heisman that year, IIRC, and Major Applewhite (3rd best college football ever name behind Major Ogilvy and Wonder Monds) threw the winning TD as he got blasted by a D-Lineman. Applewhite suffered a concussion on that play. We still cheered them as they walked off the field.
  9. John Blake was the OU head coach at the time.
  10. 2001. That run and his catch against OU won him the Heisman.
  11. A tie: 1978 v. Oklahoma. Ozburn's first win over Switzer. 9 OU fumbles; six of which we recovered. That blast by Ruud to Kelly Phelps on the kickoff after taking the lead that put #11 into the following Tuesday (ran on WOWT's newscast opening for years). ... finally And the 1995 Orange Bowl for the 1994 title. ... Finally... Close seconds: Fiesta Bowl win over Florida, '71 v OU (I was very young but remember it.... kinda), Orange Bowl spanking of Notre Dame after the '72 season with Heisman winner J Rodgers running, catching and throwing a TD; Gator Bowl win over Clemson after the 08 season, 2005 v Colorado (totally unexpected; Restoring the Order... at least for a little while).
  12. I don't think this was a complete game at all. Jacoby Ford got loose for a long TD, Ganz threw a pick-6 (or near, I don't recall). Yes, Castille busted that long run and Ganz more than redeemed himself with a TD pass to Peterson (Joker dance) and that beauty to Swift in the corner of the end zone. We leaned on Henery to claw back. Hagg had a late sack and O'Hanlon broke up their last gasp to Spiller on a damn fine play. Great win for sure, maybe one of Bo's best, but far from complete.
