  1. No!! The swift sig ruled!! Thanks brotha dawg!! Feels different w/o it. Will bring it back shortly.
  2. Yep. I'll add that a lot of young guys more than likely thought that as well, but just havent said anything.
  3. It's great having Osborne back involved. He's interviewing, he's recruiting, he's telling the players about going to class and working out, and keeping people calm. Amazing guy... Seems like everyone can just relax, unplug their computers, and check back in a few days. "I don't want to get into any specifics," Osborne said. "When the time comes, we'll make sure everything is laid out for you. There won't be any secrets."
  4. Hanc, I'm right there with you on those things you mentioned. My belief is that the first thing you must do is dominate the line of scrimmage. Then you run the ball. You have to be able to run first, throw second. Balance is preferred. I checked out PJ's history and BIO and his teams do not gain much over 100yds per game through the air. That includes time at Hawaii and the small school he was at. My concern is seeing 8, 9 men in the box week after week. And if you cannot pass & you're down by 14 points early, then you are in a rough situation. I see a lot of comments about PJ changing his offense to spread option and such, okay that's great. But I havent read anywhere that he has done this before. He's always had success by running the ball only. So I dont understand why all the talk about how he will suddenly change to a balance attack to fit his players. He hasnt done that yet. By the way, I also agree with not caring for BCs game planning, or "strategy" during the course of a game. I dont even want to go there.
  5. Nice post. I see what you are saying. Nothing wrong with putting your thoughts out there. Especially when you put a lot of thought into it as you did. Whether he is hired or not, Gill is not a bad choice.
  6. Thank you. The Coach of the Year in the MAC will not resign for a "director" job.
  7. If true, what this means is that the hiring process is considering a lot of candidates. They dont want to overlook anyone. Which possibly means even more people to talk to instead of pulling a quick gun. Its a good thing.
  8. Then why is TG not good enough for the NU gig? The previous two comments do not make sense to me.
  9. Who is this dude, a radio guy? Could this not be posted in the lounge? Fellas, we have other forums.
  10. But our novelty is goofy and fun. Their stuff sounds like silly shenanigans. Wait... what?
  11. No question Paul Johnson has had his share of success. I'm just not excited about a predominately running game offense. Even the read option. He runs the ball all the time, not just at Navy, but everywhere he is been at. That means, it would strike me odd to bring in someone who has to change the offense all over again, recruit different style of players. I just dont believe if you hire someone they will change what gave them success their entire career. If Dr. Tom thinks that's the way to go, then okay I guess. I like a mobile QB and the way an offense can pass and run. Not a fan of a running QB that occasionally throws the ball. My opinion that is.
  12. Actually, Paul Johnson runs the ball. He ran it at Hawaii, he ran it at Georgia Southern, and he runs it at Navy. He is good at that though. Very good at it. But I prefer the forward pass, so he is not among my top two choices. From his BIO: While at Hawai'i, Johnson developed a successful offensive unit which earned top-20 I-A statistical rankings in scoring offense, total offense and rushing offense during six of his eight seasons. Georgia Southern produced 300 yards or more of total offense in 53 of its last-59 games and picked up 400-plus yards of total offense in 45 of the last-59 contests. Fullback Adrian Peterson rushed for 6,736 yards in his career, the most in the history of Division I football. In addition to Georgia Southern's 62-10 mark, the Eagles scored (39.7 points per game), picked up rushing yards (360.3 yards per game), passing yards (108.6 yards per game) and total yards (468.8 yards per game). 14. I am not discounting your opinion or determining your worth based on the time you have been here. I know you have added a lot of good perspective to the posts on this board. Please do not twist or stretch my words to fit your motive. I thought what I wrote was clear. My apologies if it offended anyone. Peace-OUT! AM
  15. Seriously newbs, get over yourselves. Most of the sigs were designed by some talented people on this board. They either offered to create something or took request. You know, the beginning of football season brings on excitement and it's a unique way to show it. Some people, not all, that have joined since October seem to complain about anything. Now you know about the controls & what you can do about it. Instead of asking the board to adhere to your personal wants, you can do something different so that you can adjust. Season is over. I'll remove my Swift sig if that helps some. But that's all.
  16. Okay, I see how all you haters are!!! Well we will just see about that since I'm the only logical one to pick the Cowboys. Heck, I'm prolly the only bright one! But I will say that I do like the Pack, and if by some crazy chance that the Cowboys do not make it to the Super Bowl, I hope the Packers do. Gotta love Favre. I'm happy for them this year. They are legit. Cowboys 37 Packers 25 Note: the way to score on Dallas is to look for S-Roy Williams and throw it his way. Dude could never cover. Romo, TO, Whitten, Marian The Barbarian, etc, with DeMarcus Ware & Co. on defense (minus Horse Collar Roy Williams)
  17. Texas Tech and Hawaii run it. Houston Cougars used to do it with David Klinger and Andre Ware. The thing is, really good defenses can beat it. They get to the QB and can match up with speed. The good defenses (notch lower) can prepare against it, and can beat it as well, but not all the time. Then factor in the weather changes in November which makes it more difficult to grip the ball. And then finally what was said in previous post about not being able to run out some clock, and defenses being on the field a lot. You score a lot, you give up a lot too.
  18. editing.. Didnt see the bottom punchline.
  19. i get the sick feeling Turner and Pelini were the only 2 guys who really showed any interest.....if true that is a sad statement about Husker football, very sad. i would really like to know how many guys showed interest in the interview process.....then again, maybe i wouldn't want to know the truth either. It's none of my business, but yah me too. I would like to know who the candidates were that have been reached out to. And if anybody called Osborne (or admin) to let him know he was interested. It's not need to know, but it's good to know.
  20. Bro, do you think this decision (new coach) may be rushed prematurely? Would it be so bad to wait two more weeks if that meant interviewing three or four more candidates? I'm just wondering...
