  1. I havent read through the entire thread. My opinion on the WCO is that, it's not a bad offense. It's a short controlled passing game. You can still run and pass. You can still be balanced. I prefer throwing down field more & spreading the wide outs, instead of the bunched up formation & short passes, but's that's my style, my preference. Different WCO for different flavors. Some are more complexed. High schools do not usually run them, and only a handful in college. It's best to have a QB who is running it for 4-8 years. Again, my thoughts.
  2. Oh hell yah! Without question. Always! Always! Always!
  3. Anyone? Besides Spurrier? Hmmm.. Okay. Well what if TO hires one of these cool cats - yah! . . . . . . . . . . . . Hey, I'm Jared. I've got sweet onion terriyaki skillz. . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh yah? Well, can you hear MY skillz? Can you hear 'em now? . . . . . . . . . . . . . Excuse me guys, let me boar you to death and just draw my skillz... on this here whiteboard. Hey has anyone seen my sweater vest?
  4. And Devaney will be all like "OH SNAP!" and stuff. damn...
  5. I actually like Michigan. <insert the boos here> I like their traditions, the uni's, the Big House, the history of sending tons of talent to the NFL (big offensive tackles, QBs, WRs, RBs, etc). I would love to coach them and beat the snot out of Ohio State. I spent a year up in Minneapolis and got a better understanding of the Big 10. Plus, your season is done by Nov 17 and if you are sitting on just one loss and ranked 5th in the BCS standings, you can sneak into the BCS championship game while the rest of the teams are playing their last games and conference championship game (ahem, Ohio State). And going to the Rose Bowl for winning your conference would be a thrill every time. Plus there's the Michigan State rival, the Notre Dame rival, playing Penn State against Joe Pa in Happy Valley, and just about any storied program they play sounds like an interesting, exciting matchup (Michigan vs Nebraska, Michigan vs Texas, Michigan vs USC, Michigan vs Oklahoma, etc). It's a power house alright. And right now, I'm feelin' for them. LSU = Baton Rouge, cajun gator claw soup, dirty swamp water andouille, and a whole lot of "Yee Haw! cousin Jeb and MaryAnn got dem a color tv for dis week's gator game showdown, hooooowee!!!". Plus they really were not on the map that much before 2000.
  6. I'm trying to have a good day. Please dont go there. And thanks.
  7. Only if it's Southwest You know it, brotha!!! Wick-ed Voo-doo joker killa!!!
  8. If it depends on the source, what about Voodoo? Is that okay? VOO-DOO Running from my magic!
  9. Worst Case Part I: No games on TV next year Worst Case Part II: Callahan retained Best Case Part I: Players & fans & recruits & boosters & alumni & former players embrace the new coaching staff and direction of the football team, and begin building unity, character, toughness, sportsmanship, dedication, motivation, and a "nobody can beat us" attitude through hard work. Best Case Part II: The cornhusker rides the pikle again (with GBRS)
  10. I may not be a big Pelini supporter at this time, or since he got axed I should say. But when that first presser comes (Monday/Saturday/Whenever), I will be relieved. And when the second one comes, the announcement of the new coach, if it's Pelini, I will support TO's decision and not be a stick in the mud. I'll root him on. New life. is all. good.
  11. I think Cos is...if the NU defense doesn't show up and Hawkins is serious about his threat. It's on page 7 of the Big 10 Defensive Play Book...under "Alternative Paths to Victory" heading. Is that the playbook in his belly pants?
  12. Niice.. BTW Its actually FOX Sports on MSN. And I guess they edited it. No longer says "Heisman"....
  13. Thanks HOKC!!!! Same to you!!! And to all my Husker brothas and sistas!!! H * A * P * P * Y T * H * A * N * K * S * G * I * V * I * N * G !!!! RIDE THE PIKLE!! GBRS !!
  14. Same here - whoever it is I will do my best to support them and hope for the best. However - I could have gone the entire weekend without having to hear that, unfortunately.
  15. I did some research awhile back and put it on the board. Something to the affect that there have been over 50 head coaching vacancies since he left NU. So the question is valid. Why hasnt anyone taken the chance on the guy. You cant sugarcoat no experience. He might do well, he might not. It's a bigger risk to take. And for every Bob Stoops name dropping, where are all the other success stories at major tradition-rich winning football programs? Or else look at the other side of it - Randy Shannon was the DC at Miami, Fla for 5 years. They won the 2001 championship. They loved him there. He's the coach now. And sitting at 10-12 in two years. Keep in mind they did not change the program completely around either. My point is, smaller schools take those chances with promoting assistant coaches.
  16. Since when did weed make fans so violent? Seriously though, I think it says a lot, that Hawkins and Co. want a good hard fought football game w/o fan interference.
  17. Good article. He's definately done well since jumping in late against Texas. I agree with his quotes. I dont think he is refering to everyone, but to most of them.
  18. I hate to say it, not really, but I have a strong feeling that Pelini is going to be stuck on an island and passed over at both NU & LSU. I think it will come down to the obvious: Why have so many teams passed over this guy? I think that's what will bite him. The thought will linger. In fact, I think Pelini will finally see the light bulb after all this and do what Gill did (who wanted to be a HC): Go start your head coaching career at a small school, or a place that is usually hovering around .500, learn on the job, and about managing everything (players, coaches, AD, recruits, boosters, alumni, fans). A&M wont chance it, and maybe Arkansas might. But they want an Arkansas guy. As far as the rumor, makes obvious sense that TO prolly discussed with Solich on some stuff, including Pelini. He's prolly discussing things with McBride and a few other close people too.
  19. I dont think I have respect for CU, but I wont deny that it's always a good anticipation game. I would rather see us play them somewhere in the middle of the season. I think when both teams are battling with 10-1 records, then it becomes more important & the hype gets justified. I dont hate CU. But I dont like them. They have put together some really good teams over the years. Just have never liked their head coaches & some of their player's jacked up pre & post game comments. But so far I havent developed a bad taste about Hawkins yet.
  20. Fellas, am I the only one who basically sensed OLDMAN was just being frustrated? I think he started the thread to obviously let some personal steam out. I dont think his intentions were to get dumped on by anyone who has a keyboard. He's not flaming anyone, so ease up on the attacks. Stating your opinion on if the game is important to you is better than sh!tting on someone b/c his thought process is different than yours. I'm just saying... BTW, it's clear that he is not on this board each and every day to debate, argue, and flame. Just frustrated. This season has taken it's toll on many.
  21. Like Auburn? Where scoring 17 points is a good day? And having to depend on defense, special teams, and field position? That's NFL stuff. I like scoring. I like defense too. So then I guess I like the best of both worlds. I do agree that defense is HUGE and we need it here big time.
  22. That's so tragic. Thoughts and prayers to the Stacy & Bama family.
  23. I would have liked to upload the video right here, but it's not Youtube. Check this out.. Still Want To Smoke?
