  1. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Touchdown Tommie doesn't want those uniforms, so lets make sure it never happens! Seriously though, give some insight as to why instead of just a No, what was so bad about those uniforms? They look pretty much the same as the uniforms now, they just had that thick red stripe.
  2. Come on Dave! You're doomsday approach to EVERYTHING is getting a little old. I'm sure that the creater of this thread knows that it could very well not turn out that way. In fact, there's a very good chance it won't, but just let the guy make his prediction without your condescending attitude stamped on it. (Which is hard to do since every thread on this board seems to have that.)
  3. Damn! I seeded the teams in a way where I thought USC would have no possible shot of winning, and they still did!
  4. Nothing really earth-shattering. Osborne already said that he'd be staying on as the AD for at least two years. This is only officially removing the "interim" titel from his position so that people know he's committed for the next few years he'll be in office.
  5. I, personally, liked the uniforms we had when Lord was QB. With the thick red stripe on the sides of the pants that gradually got thinner as it went down. I know it wasn't a popular style, but I thought it was sharp-looking.
  6. The '08 season can't get here soon enough! Seriously though, from what a lot of people are saying, it's almost as if Bo is clueless on how to build a program to a national title contender...why? Because he doesn't have head coaching experience?? He's been under direct tutelage from some of the best college coaches in the league. He's going to be coaching a national championshi caliber defense in the national championship game. I'm sure Bo has some ideas on how to build a program, probably ideas that are in the heads and utilized by "big-time" coaches such as the Meyers or the Tressels. Don't crucify the guy yet, but don't praise him either, just have confidence that he'll do the best damn job he's capable of doing here. (which, for the record, I think he'll do pretty good). At least we know he's proven in one thing, and that's coaching a good defense. Which, after watching ours for the past few years, that's all I ask for.
  7. They're students like all the other kids at the college. Every student has a unversity e-mail address. Most of the time it's the first letter of their first name and then their last name (mlucky, jganz) then it's at something like @unl.edu.com or something to that affect.
  8. Well of course Lucky will fill out NFL paperwork to see where he would project in the draft (IF he would even get picked in the draft) but I think the results that come back will not be what Marlon was hoping for and he'll stay.
  9. When did Callahan say that NU would never rise again? Was this after he was fired? Can you provide a link please?
  10. Bottom Line: He isn't ready to be an NFL back yet. It'd be in his best interest if he stayed. I think there will be enough people in his ear telling him that too.
  11. Scott's been playing pro ball for awhile. Are you sure you aren't thinking of Andrew Shanle? Our Free safety (or was he strong?) last year?
  12. You laugh? Why? We've all heard from players about the playbook Callahan brought in, it's huge. Like an encyclopedia. I was using it more as a way to describe the intricacy of the type of offense we ran. It was too complicated and I hope it's dumbed down a little.
  13. I thought in an interview that Pelini said he wanted to simplify everything for the players and get back to fundamentals and having fun. Did he say that?? That's awesome if he did, I don't recall ever hearing that, but if he did, good thing because I think the offense could've worked even if it was 80 times simpler.
  14. So, since Callahan is gone, how complicated do you guys think the offense will remain? Will Watson keep the 20 pound playbook or will he simplify it so that incoming freshman can pick it up right away and contribue their talents immediately? I was so sick of not seeing players play until their junior or senior years all because it took them that long to learn the offense. There's no reason for the offense to be something that would take NASA a few months to decipher. I'm hoping that Watson can find a good middle ground that is easy to learn but still effective on the field.
  15. One juco that we're getting this year...Simi Kuli....is probably the one recruit in this class that I absolutely DON'T want to lose...so I think that juco's can and are necessary in every recruiting class.
  16. I miss Cally and Pud like I would miss credit card debt... ....that means I wouldn't miss them at all for you people who don't understand sarcasm or jokes (harp)
  17. I wanna say 3 to play 3 since he didn't qualify last year, but don't quote me on that.
  18. So how'd the conversation go? What questions were asked? How'd he respond? Did he make any hints towards the offense he's thinking of running? Any more comments on his assistants? etc.? etc.?
  19. Not ME!!! Unless it's Ice Cream Pie or Pizza pie. Hey, Colfax: Any links? Yea check below, already a thread about it. Strawberry Rhubarb?? Ewww!! Rhubarb anything is nasty, but....I also don't like sweets...soo...I'm a bit biased.
  20. the words of HuskerfaninOkieland Respect/Like: OU TU A&M ISU Tolerate: Okie St TTU TU KU Can't Stand: Mizzou CU KSU Cuz I agree
  21. ....So....basically what you're saying is that Bo didn't have any first day draft picks from the three years he was DC at LSU? Not one? No wait, he did, he had a lot of kids leave while he was coaching there, but yet he still was able to consistently put a respectable product on the field. Make sure you are able to back up what you say before you say it. Thanks. no kiddo, what i'm saying is... "the number of good players who leave directly impacts the quality of the defense the following year." i.e. last season on d: ones 1st rounder, one 7th rounder = #3 d in country. this draft we'll have at least 4 or 5 first day (at least 2 in the 1st round) and probobly 3-4 more on the second day... that means roughly all but 3 starters are leaving. all but 3 leaving = bad defense following year. And of course, even if they weren't under Bo's tutelage, they'd still be 1st round picks right? Just cause they've been naturally gifted defensive athletes since they've picked up a football and would've excelled in the college game to go 1st day in the NFL regardless of their coach?
