  1. Since when did he lose the game? Anyways, Nunn genuinely blew it. Smith blew that game(thanks for the correct name guys down the page), the interception, then tried to run and fumble on the 12 yard line, next play passing TD that won Tech the game. Nunn should hang his head for the way he played, it was attrocious. Jones rarely plays very well and they need to replace him with someone who actually knows the definition of pass coverage, Pittman killed us on the pass interferance call, looked like he had no clue how to play his position. As stated above, 95% of the team played excellent, 5% let us down, as well as their team.
  2. Thank you Terrance Nunn, you blew it. Great game other than that, Brandon Jackson looked very good. Now why didn't Callahan take timeouts when he had the chance?
  3. Am I the only unlucky SOB who is getting screwed by ESPN today because they are having problems showing the game? Damn Cox cable, and they have the nerve to tell me if it doesn't come on I "might" still be charged. Sooo Soooo Angry right now, damn Las Vegas. Listening on the live radio at huskers.com at least.
  4. We had this team beat from the beginning till the end. Glad they let the second string play a bit and they got to score a few as well. Have to get them some experience for the future.
  5. we'll end up around 18 to 20 come Monday. As many have stated a couple of the teams raned in front of us lost, to lower teams, we lost to a higher team. We'll still be in the top 25 for a while.
  6. and it showed when he coached the raiders the year after the Superbowl team was handed to him;) As i mentioned, Al Davis fires umm lets think, he's fired 1 person, that was Bill Callahan.
  7. I have a name to throw out and will get flamed for it. Chris Peterson the main guy behind Boise State's offense! Are we really already naming replacements for BC? This is getting old. That's not a new coach i'm talking about, i'm talking about a dynasty. I'm talking about a coach that would never just roll over, a coach that would play to win even if he lost. We may lose, but some of us know that we tried, and though we may not accept it, we'll know we just didn't give up before the game began. I'd have had alot more respect for Callahan had it been he had played for a win and gotten killed, it wouldn't have been as transparent to most of us as his playing to keep it close. LMAO yeah right! Then you would of posted about why Callahan's D "got us killed". Sure is easy to "arm chair quarter back" a game. Isn't it? :hmmm Well take it from a division 1 player. Had i ever played for Callahan i'd have lost alot of respect for him after tonight. I didn't play football, instead i played div 1 soccer at Creighton University(thats in Omaha BTW) and had coach Simon done something like this he'd have lost alot of the respect he had gained with us. Callahan as it is, fortunately doesn't have the final call on the D. I guess in your world you can forgive this mochary we call NU football coaching. I've yet to forget our days of glory as you have. I've not given up on our team being a top 5 in the nation as they used to be year in and year out. At least with some coached who were very bad(solich since you're dense), they at least tried to put forth an effort no matter what it meant. He never rolled over and died as Callhan did this evening. Callhan has lost all respect from me and his players, you could see it in their faces. We'll see how much they listen to him next week, we may see a tottally different team next week because of this. I am a life long fan of the big red nation, I don't condone being a team known that has a coach who just gives up on his players and goes into a game figuring they are going to lose. Even though I am not an NU graduate, I still give them cash yearly as a Las Vegas Nebraskan via donations. I don't want to support a coach who will roll over and die like that because of a ranking some analysts give them. I was never raised as a proud nebraskan to roll over and die, I would expect the same from a coach that runs the program everyone in or from my favorite state looks to as a way of life. I am embarassed as all hell to have such a pathetic low life man to be in charge of such a prestigious program. You live with that, thats your choice, you roll over and die, but this marine shall never roll over and die. Ah so I am not a fan now! lol Sorry to burst your bubble but I too was a Marine and a graduate not from Crieghton but from UNL. Class of 92. I too also give money to the program but I don't sit here on a forum and bitch and moan about what a coach does/doesn't. Again what does it actually solve again??? I highly doubt that Callahan and staff read this. Yes I am pissed about the game but our program has slipped way before he got here. It's going to take some time. How much? Who knows, but people calling for the head coaches job isn't the answer after one friggen loss! I am also not going to get involved in a pissing contest with others on this board. You have your ideas about the game and I have mine! All I can say is I am pressing on and am gearing up for Troy next week! so what you're saying is that you simply accept his choice? Maybe I am misunderstanding you. It may be one game to you, but to some of us, we see just exactly how much this coach cares about this program that we all have been brought up to respect. How many times will it take before you know that if BC believes we will lose before you decide it's more than "one friggin loss"? He did it tonight, whose to say he doesn't do this again, will that be okay with you? Our defensive backfield got killed tonight, there's no question about that, but thats a chance we have to take, we took no offensive chances at all. All in all, this is NOT Nebraska football. This is some coach collecting a paycheck and not caring about the program he represents. Do we need a coach who understands the pride of the husker fans? Yes i think we do. Take a look at BC's history, think of the season after he was handed the team to go to the superbowl, he did nothing for that team, it was handed to him, the year after, he was fired because even that senile Al Davis noticed the lack of belief he had in that team(yes, it was awful no thanks to al davis and his stupid trades). It showed just what he thought of that team, he gave up, plain and simple. One game is just a beginning, why do we give him the chance to make a mochary of this team we both apparently love so much? How long will you just accept it? How long will any of us accept it? I'm not giving him the chance to do as he did to that post SB season of the raiders(yes, i hate them too, still to this day). I ask you, where's the line? As for the pissing contest, that comes from your armchair QB comment. I'm going from my very own experiences in life and using them in my opinion of the thoughts and in the eyes i saw on that husker team tonight. I would have never wasted my time with a coach that had no beleif in his own team. Hell i'd have played at UNLV if i'd wanted a coach who simply wanted a paycheck and didn't care about wins or losses. Would you play or partake in anything that the person running it had no belief in your abilities as a team? So what do you suggest we do now? Throw in the towel on the rest of the games? Start a protest all over the nation calling for a new coach? If so who exactly do you chose that I think its plain rediculious to totally give up on our coaching staff at this point. WIth that in mind I am pretty much done replying to this topic because all we are going to do is disagree. I really could care less what you do, but i'm also not going to sit by and let people say "oh well 1 loss, we shouldn't blame BC". Since we have both fought for the right to allow people in this country to have their opinion, I am simply expressing mine. I was never raised to go with the norm, and not going to start. Not going to just give in because you think it's a 1 time thing. At the moment, we know nothing is going to happen, it's too late in the season. I wont sit by and not give my opinion on the situation though. I'm not telling you your opinion is wrong, but i'm not agreeing with it either. You and I are both welcome to them as we see fit. Also i'm not going to sit back and watch others disagree with others opinion and try and degrade them because they think they are right and thats it. Eveyone is welcome to their own opinion, not going to knock them for it, but i still don't have to agree with them.

  9. I have yet to see any "Husker haters" only Callahan haters. We don't have anyone that can beat us in the north, and I see us playing Texas again for the Big 12 Championship. I actually see us going 1-1 with them this season, we probably lose the first game and win in the championship because as of now Callahan will see we can beat them. Most of us are saying we are very disappointed with BC, the way he called plays. You can't tell me you didn't think BC had no thought NU could beat USC. I think he let down the team and it's fans as a whole the way he called plays. It shall be interesting to see how the team reacts to him throughout the week and against Troy next week. I think he lost alot of respect from his players and the Husker fans. You are definitely welcome to your opinion though.
  10. yes i saw it and heard it over and over and over. The wife is a sooner, so I had to play the role and call it like i saw it. I think we'll see those officials not officiating another game this year, they were awful. Not to mention the tipped Pass Interference they kept with right after that bad call. 2 in a row, why not make it worse since they really screwed the pooch on the first one.
  11. I have a name to throw out and will get flamed for it. Chris Peterson the main guy behind Boise State's offense! Are we really already naming replacements for BC? This is getting old. 12. Only a true loser would take that point of view. Listen people, its not THAT NU lost, it's HOW they lost. BC didn't coach the game to win, he coached not to get blown out. By doing that, he is not displaying leadership. Seeing that Taylor and some of the others were pissed, I hope he doesn't lose this team, too. IF he even would have tried for one quarter, two series, anything, to exploit the weakness of their defense, I would give him a pass on it. But besides the touchdown drive (which worked well) he never did. thats a very good point, he may have pissed off his own players, as you could se eit in their faces. Whose to say he is still respected by this team? He may have lost it because I think BC broke their hearts with the play calling.
  13. we were 21 point underdogs in the spread actually, i know i bet and still won on the parlay card, even with the wifes Oklahoma loss since they weren't favored. I won both of them because i chose both to win, they covered.
  14. I have a name to throw out and will get flamed for it. Chris Peterson the main guy behind Boise State's offense! Are we really already naming replacements for BC? This is getting old. 15. I was wondering the same thing the whole game. Lucky is a decent RB, but Glenn is the power runner that was needed against that USC defense. The whole game i was asking where Glenn was and thinking of how he could have made a difference.
  16. i agree, but bring back Osborne. We should beat troy.
  17. I'm new here and possibly being asked why i joined the site just to complain, and though thats some of it, i found the site and will critique our boys. I agree with you whole heartedly though, he came out expecting a loss and showed his true colors. I never liked BC in the first place and thought NU made a terrible choice, but I will never support his decisions again. I will support our players, not the coach, HE IS AN :asshat not you my friend. If we go on to win the Big 12 you will not support BC? If he stays here for mulitiple years and builds a consistant BCS bowl team you will not support him? I know those are big if's, but I think that is where we are headed. I would have hated to see your guys' comments if we had gotten blown out, because I think it could have easily gone that way. you know, thats where you're misunderstanding. I don't care about getting blown out, what i care about is playing like you know you're going to lose. I have never likes BC, never will, but come on, he coached like he was running the raiders the year after the superbowl, you know, the year he played like he was only there for a paycheck and knew he was going to lose. I was ashamed to see our boys playing so hard, and our coach calling plays that were safe every single time. Why would you call a run down the gut almost every other play against one of the nationes best run defenses for the last few years? That right there shows me he was playing to keep it close because he had no faith in our boys. I'm sorry you don't see it that way, i'm sorry you blind yourself to it. Some of us see it though, and find it unbearable to watch after all these years have a coach that just curls up and dies because he has no faith in our boys. If we would have lost by 80 points, i'd have been angry, sure, but if we had played like we do, i'd have been able to take it. instead we played like callihan simply didn't want to risk embarrasing himself and never gave our boys a chance. As it is, we never played to our potential even once tonight, it's pretty damn obvious. Ok I am gonna throw the BS flag on this one! thorw it all you like. I will never support a crappy coach who just rolls over and dies. Apparently you never saw the little convo with ESPN about Jones comment. Callihan never supported his thoughts one bit, he rolled over even in the ESPN interview. He has no faith in his team, if he did, he'd at least have USED the number 1 rated QB in the big 12.

  19. Right. Because he completely changed who he is and how he coaches just this once... if you don't call THIS an excuse, you are really naive. We could have beatin this team had our coach shown up to win and not roll over. This USC team really isn't the same team of old. I truely think had Callhan come to win we could have.

  21. I'm here from now on actually, if you were referring to me. I was at that Penn St game, and yes, it was painful. I rank Cally below Solich because at least Solich would run his plays, even if he knew he would win. Callihan showed his true colors tonight, he showed he feared that USC defense, didn't want to press them. I don't care if we lose, though i hate it, I want us to be at least seen as trying. Do you really think Callhan did all he could? don't you think he laid down and died because of the big bad USC team? I mean this whole game it was like he expected the loss, didn't even give his own team a chance. I went this whole week telling people how if we play like we can, we'll take this USC team, because they aren't all that good no matter what some idiot analyst thinks. Come Monday, i have to deal with "what happened to your boys?". I'm not always happy even when NU wins, i will still critique then when they win, and mention when or where they played stuipd, just so often it comes with Callahan calling the plays. Had I gotten the tickets i'd have been there tonight, and i'd have tried to give callahan the finger for his role in this game, or lack there of. Unfortunately i couldn't get a pair and drive the 300 miles over to the rose bowl, so i had to watch from here in Vegas. I was embarrassed at the coaching tonight. Our boys tried so hard, and have to play for the loss as Callahan did. and on a side note, according to your nick, you've been here what, about 2 weeks and mention your original topic.
  22. I guess i should mention, Yes, i may be out of the club, but I also recently married a Sooner(ducks). It's quite the unhappy household at the moment. This is hard to say, but OU was robbed(hehe making sure she sees this) I'm not the happiest of campers this evening, and it's grinding my rear end right now still thinking about the game tonight. We should have at least tried to open up their defense, instead we ran it up the gut on one of the best run defenses in the nation 80% of the time. I think thats what pissed me off the most. I always wonder whats going through Callahans head, and i've never liked him, even when he was with the raiders. I doubt i'll ever like him, so i am definitely biased towards him. Figured since i am new i'd be straight foward with my biases. I will always support the children of the corn, but i will never support that man as a coach. Going to use the little emotions right now and show what I think of Cally via a moving picture :asshat
  23. Sorry iowan, i don't agree with you. Cally had nothing but the idea of a loss on his mind and it showed. When you have the #1 Qb in the big 12, you don't run the ball 85% of the game and go what, 3-4 yards then punt. He never played this game to win at all, and I think had we played a real game and not this bunk Callahan calls, we could have at least made it a game. Our defense could not tackle, last time i checked i played soccer and i'm positive I could have tackled at least 2 of the 3 times they failed to tackle correctly. I'm sober and extremely upset with Cally's calls. Maybe I should have drank, i could have possibly just as easily turned the game, and simply been pissed. Here it is, I'd rather Solich coach before Callhana, at least Solich put an effort forth to win all his games(lets just say, i definitely wanted Solich's head on a platter).
  24. I just wonder about what a blackshirt really is anymore as well. Blackshirts used to mean something, now they mean "i can try and grab this guys arm, but miss the tackle". We are usually known for our defense and our beloved, blackshirts. Where are they now? Maybe i'm biased, I think since God, aka Tommy O retired, we haven't had the same team. The year I was born he was there, the year I last recall a great team, he was there. It's truely heartbreaking sometimes watching these teams, knowing they have so much talent, and then thinking, "too bad we have this idiot for a coach". I will admit, the day they made the press conference that they hired Callahan, I sat down and thought, we're dead. I like the West Coast Offense, but come on, thats never been us, and unfortunately, we're known for the option plays. We have a great WCO for next year, but how long are all of us life long fans going to handle this? It drives me nuts, i'm surrounded by idiots here in vegas, they think UNLV has a decent team(trust me, it's not hard to get into UNLV, thats why i graduated from Creighton, just finishing up my masters here), they think NU was known because of their passing game. I do have a certain UNLV Qb that knows what i'm talking about as a friend, lets call him Rocky;) he knows what i'm talking about, and he agree's NU hasn't been anything near the same since Osborne left. All in all, I think Callahan is an idiot, he didn't use his team to their fullest, he played it safe when we could have beatin this team. Whats this 3rd and 5 and giving a 10-15 yard cushion? Where was our defense that we all remember? I will never stop supporting the big red nation, just that coach.
