  1. Wow...that was fast! Link here: http://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=666161
  2. Player: Joseph Fauria Hometown: Encino, CA Position: TE Height: 6'7" Weight: 250 lbs. 40 time: 4.75 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Colorado, LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, Oregon Favorites: Committed to Notre Dame Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: Goes to Crespi, a Catholic High School in southern CA, which is north of L.A. Not far from UCLA and USC would be close as well. He is willing to look at schools outside of CA. From Scout: Uncle is NFL tight end Christian Fauria, who also played at Crespi and for Colorado. 3. Rivals reporting he has committed to Notre Dame...
  4. Link here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting We are in his top 3 with LSU and OU. He has visited those schools. We need him N for a visit still. Starting to pile up some offers.
  5. Same high school as David Ross. Hopefully this one has a happier ending.
  6. Get well, Marlon! Praying in So. Cal.
  7. I blame Lewis squarely for being a big disappointment and letdown. You don't make all this hoopla about announcing between NU and OU, make comments like the ones above, give NU your word, and then let them down and screw their recruiting class with a stunt like this. If he would have gone to OU initially, then that is fine. I don't blame Stoops either...he is doing what he is supposed to do...get the best recruits for OU. This is Lewis' fault and the blame (and shame) are all on him.
  8. In light of what is going on over at the Travis Lewis thread, I sure hope we didn't stop recruiting him. He had us as his favorite for the majority of the time. Some are saying he won't qualify so if that is the case I understand. But why would he then go to Baylor...isn't that a pretty tough school to qualify? I am asking because I don't know but I always thought Baylor was very tough academically.
  9. This is looking ugly...just checked over at Rivals and they no longer have him on our committment list...they have his list as High interest in OU. Everyone else (including us) are listed as very low interest. What happened here? I will hold out hope that our coaches get him back on track but this would be very bad considering LB's Patin and Hicks just went off the board yesterday.
  10. Again I say... I did not see this coming at all...I knew we might lose him but thought it would be to Alabama or West Virginia...not lose him to a Big 12 school...Baylor? Just for good measure...
  11. Okie St. is doing a nice job this year...anyone recall if they have finished in Top 25 recruiting class recently?
  12. Eric, FYI...I had started thread on this guy Jan. 16th. You've got more info. but thought you would want to merge.
  13. Was thought to be headed to Fresno St. but has now committed to Washington.
  14. Another commit to...quack quack...Oregon.
  15. Joining Anyiam... Committed to Oklahoma State. Not sure why OSU was able to grab this one late over us in the Big 12. Rivals even has him a notch above Paul for WR recruits. We have a great class but missed here.
  16. Not looking good with Patin...found this free info. at Husker Journal site. http://www.huskerjournal.com/recruiting.html JANUARY 22, 2007. PREP STAR EARL PATIN, linebacker from Baton Rouge (Southern Lab), Louisiana, has offers from Nebraska, Alabama, Miami, LSU, West Virginia and others. "Right now I favor Alabama and West Virginia." said Patin, "I like Alabama because they will turn the program around with Sabin. Coach Thompson (Alabama) is recruiting me, he came over from Central Florida." "Alabama is a four hour drive from home, I will visit them January 26." he said, "I don't have a day set up for West Virginia yet. It looks like it will be during the week." "Miami has a new coach and will turn the program around." said Patin, "I have a chance to play early there. Miami wants me to come on a visit Super Bowl week-end (Feb 2)." "LSU and Nebraska offered me early on, but I don't hear from either school now." he said, "Nebraska is little bit out of it, Coach Elmassian use to keep contact with me." I thought we had this guy but after awhile it got suspicious when he didn't commit and spaces were running out...sounds like he will go to the wire before he decides...is there a chance still left?
  17. I am quite surprised to see this. Norvell was interviewing for head coaching jobs (ISU). Why take O-Coordinator here? Karl Dorrell was under intense pressure this year at UCLA. The win over USC was huge...many speculated if he did not win that game, he would have been canned. He sort of now has blown that momentum by losing to FSU in the bowl game (which many thought UCLA should have won). The D-Coordinator has gotten most the praise for the upset over USC. Dorrell will be under pressure again next year so Norvell is stepping into a cooker while it seemed he was gaining prestige in his role here at NU...with another good year at NU and he likely would again be looked at as head coaching candidate. UCLA now must absolutely have a good year or Dorrell and his staff will face intense pressure again. Norvell will have to produce results immediately (not like over 3 years with NU). Going with other posts here...I guess he wanted to move back west and wanted to have the major role in the play calling. Jay, thanks for your work for the Huskers and hope it works out for you. FYI http://www.bruinsnation.com is a good UCLA blog site...very active during football season...mostly now basketball stuff...but there are comments on Norvell being hired. Dorrell and Norvell...I suspect we will have some sort of slogan on this from Bruins fans...if they do well it will be positive...if they do poorly, look out.
