  1. Everyone? Does that include Frost and Verduzco? The thing possibly hurting Vedral is the fact that the coaches probably feel he won't transfer a 2nd time. So you can put him at QB3, but he's probably performed better than any backup qb we've had for over a decade. I wonder if anyone has tried our offense with two QBs in shotgun...instead of a little RB behind the QB trying to catch the errant snap. Have them snap to Vedral on swing passes and 2AM or LM when we run something else...Probably resemble the I formation with enough separation so they don't have to call it.
  2. Rundgren: Well I don't practice any formal sort of religion but, in that sense, I'm very comfortable with a lot of Buddhist philosophy mostly because it doesn't dwell on questions about the personality of the creator as so many religions do. Original sin to me was Man's self-awareness and as soon as he became aware of himself he did so as relative to all other things and it wasn't good enough for man to just be one of those things-he had to be the most important thing and that's why the personality of God was invented. So when people ask me if I'm an atheist I say no, I just don't think we can understand the nature of what's at the bottom of all existence. It doesn't hurt us to think about it but when you become absolutely sure that you know, you're about as far away as you can possibly get.
  3. I wonder why so many Husker fans keep forgetting about Vedral..Usually the 2nd stringer is everyone's favourite player. I still think Martinez has the highest ceiling, but watching that video of the gazillion swing pass plays last season, NV seemed to be the most accurate of the three.
  4. Funny..I was in 4th grade when that song came out...But I wouldn't discover it until I was 50 and saw a movie about the Runaways...an all girl punk band that covered it.
  5. I was just quoting from an article about our special teams that I linked...A walk-on redshirt Freshman from Kearney that led special teams with 12 tackles and blocked a punt..I guess the coaches were pretty high on him and considering putting him on scholarship soon..But you're right. I Wish him well ..With the costs of tuition we'll probably see fewer great walk-on stories.
  6. I'm still trying to figure out why I thought 2016 was Frost's first (transition) class, and 2017 was last year...Pacific standard time?
  7. Does the ''hit rate'' only include players still on the team or present contributors? Maybe the 2017 class is only temporarily low.
  8. I remember the story of Spencer Tillman from a game he was doing color for or from one of T.O.s books. He wanted to major in Petroleum Engineering so Tom advised him to go to another school since we didn't offer that major..(turned out to be OU where he became a royal pain to us). I think he changed his major his Soph. year to...Journalism ... And eventually was a teammate of Mike Rozier at Houston.
  9. ''...one of Nebraska's better coverage guys, Isaiah Stalbird, is going to continue his career at South Dakota State.''
  10. I meant to include Adi Kunalic for his ability to consistently kick touchbacks, or Alex Henery for his field goal strength. Seems a shame we had them both at the same time.
  11. Yeah...Everyone knows it's in the country of Amsterdam..Which coincidentally is where my niece and her husband have been living for the past year and a half.
  12. I read it, but thanks to your post, I realized I might have missed the part of having one from each side of the ball...My first two picks were already taken. I still want to throw out names out here... Sam Foltz...Probably the 1st punter I ever actually looked forward to seeing come onto the field,...I thought was already our best punter at coffin corner kicking.
  13. I'd pick #1. Surviving the 70's teams, and pretty much being conditioned to Osborne not being able to win the big one probably gave me somewhat of a Helsinki Syndrome thing, and more willing to keep getting my hopes up...Then the possibility of my emotions crashing hard each season..has been my way of EARNING my bandwagon fandom. It was easier then, because we always seemed to be in the hunt, And our coaches exhibited a strong ability to get the most out of our talent, and to make game time adjustments better than anyone else. Those were the hardest things to get used to starting with Calihan and everyone since. Our recruiting might be helped a little if they think we're so bad that they can play right away, but the best players think they can contribute no matter how good we really are...Since we haven't been relevant in these kids' lifetimes, a national media putting the brand out there might be crucial.
  14. https://oklahoman.com/article/3634649/oklahoma-state-football-the-hit-that-ended-andrew-hudsons-career-and-started-a-calling 10 years later...This one hurts even more to watch. And actually made me glad my son never showed much interest in playing.
  15. A new ad campaign? This is your brain on dope. This is your kidneys on type 2 diabetes.
  16. Stumbled on this last week...Interesting recruiting ''broken promise''? in Steve's recruiting by T.O.
  17. Edit: Breakfast cereal: Because Breakfast is the most important surgery sugary snack of the day.
  18. I've seen it before but just the girl. The two players are obviously laughing because Bo just horked out a tonsil..The girl is afraid it might be contagious, or that it might trigger the Alien embryo jumping out of her chest.
