  1. I vaguely remember MG..But not able to find much info on Google..What happened to him? Consider yourself "started"...
  2. Wow..What's your criteria? And why can't Steve Taylor be number 1? I started watching us when Tagge was at the helm..Slower than a Lineman, but somehow great at leading and winning. Ferragamo would probably be the best in the WCO system followed closey by Baringer and then..maybe Steve Taylor and Zac Taylor.. who for some unknown reason reminds me of Tagge..only a LOT faster. Humm was the best pure passer, Frazier the best Runner..or maybe Crouch. Frost was by far, the best whiner, but he looked alot like my Nephew who was playing option QB for his LL team at the time so I really should like him more. McCathorn Clayton threw the hardest Closeline..(I still have a bump on my sternum..Thanks Mac). There's so many good or even slightly great QB's in our past, I'm ashamed of myself for forgetting a lot of them. But if I had to start someone, no mater which system I was in, I'd have to go with Turnear Jeeeeel (Turner Gill..as introduced by the Canadian broadcaster), who threw to my Cousin both at UNL and for Montreal. Something tells me Keller will be another Ferragamo, but with half the seasons.
  3. Just saw this on utube..Huskers "The Drive" to beat Texas A&M.
  4. How could you say we would back in to the cc? WE ALREADY ARE IN IT, we did what we had to do to get there, we beat atm and that sealed the division. Now if we were hoping for a team to lose so we could get in there it would be different. Besides after we spank the bluffs ass we will be preparing for whomever gets to play us. GBR I'm just saying we could loose to CU and still play in the ccg..tHE "WE ALREADY ARE IN IT" is already implied by that statement. I'm just hoping nobody (Players or coaches) take the day off. If the Conf. championship game took the two conf. teams with the best records rather than div winners, I'd have mucho more confidence that the Puffs would be toast.
  5. Still not sure what happened to Carpenter this season. He and Keller had pretty much the same stats last year for ASU and many thought they were interchangable. I'm just sayin' we should probably temper our expectations a little..Nothing's automatic..Not even Starting.
  6. Any relation to Terry Luck? Former Husker QB in the '70's?
  7. I was wondering last month what it'd be like to divide a "Verticle" conference into an East-West thing. I really wish we could play OU every year, and wonder what not having divisions would do to our coach's philosophy/strategy for just winning the north...Seems like a divisionless conference that would match up the best two records in the championship game would increase the value of each conference game. Unlike this season..Where we could lose to CU and still back in to the CC.
  8. Yeah..Good point..(potential) I doubt his neck could get much bigger..Accd to my Bro..He tanked his last few tests at camp and I think lost ~6" on his vert. jump?..Plus..There were a lot of RB's offered that year from this area..I think 5-6 went Div.1 He had a pretty good Highlight tape that they mailed out, but again.Maybe it was more obvious to others that he was loosing some of the dESIRE. The only faults I could see in his game on Offense. was his lack of Field vision..He just looked for somebody to mow over instead of looking for creases..On defense, He was the opposite ..it was frustrating watching him not tackle someone HARD.. I emailed a Cousin of mine that walked on at Nebraska (1978) for some advice, and he was telling me Nebraska wasn't even going after this one other kid from North Platte? that was leading the state in yardage that year..I forget why..I think it was the WCO not wanting "Slashers"?.
  9. I'd rather see Kearney State..er..UNK in a BCS Bowl game than ND
  10. Uh, three more BIG games to get through this year before we get into 07 team. suggest reposting on January 10, 2007. Then you'll get lots of response. besides, how can we expect the team to not look past CU if we do????? i didnt say for the team to look past anything... wanted a few interested fans thoughts about the future of this program... if you dont have any then dont reply... i am stating my opinion about a subject that is positive... everyone hates that i am negative about sum of our defensive players so i decided to get positive about our offense next year! things are going to be very good for them in 07 I guess I've been "Profiling" you a little..Sorry. When I read your 1st sentence, I figured you were bashing Zac..or were about to. I was anticipating great things from Sam this season before Koetter lost his mind..Lets hope things jell with the O-line and the ball is spread around next year..And congratulations to this year's Huskers..For the most part, you guy's have exceded my expectations.
  11. where did your nephew end up going to college? was he recruited by any of the Pac-10 schools? A small private school in Oregon (Minnefield)? They won Div 111? national championship but he redshirted his Fr. year. He got homesick last Summer and came back here ..Enrolled at ASU where his Fiance goes..No more Football, though. He had some offers from a couple of Ivy League schools..Brown? and I think Harvard, He and my Brother checked out a few, but I think my nephew was starting to get burned out..ASU and Arizona seemed to be loaded at HB at the time and didn't show much interest...He's a real gentile soul and hated hurting DB's..
  12. I heard this morning on the radio, that BCS #9 Wisconsin, having only the one loss to Michigan, won't be BCS Bowl eligible because of a rule against more than two conference teams being able to play in BCS bowl games. That's gotta suck hard!! I'm not a fan, but Dayaam! Is there any team you guys WOULDN"T want to play this year in a Bowl? Mine would be a rematch with Michigan.
  13. Uncanny. Same Size and same exact (handheld) 40 time as my Nephew two years ago..Except Michael was 10 lbs. heavier. He was a 2-yr starter for one of the largest High School's out here. Fumbled only one time in 2 years. Prefered running over people even though he was the fastest guy on his team. Had a 285? yd. game (3TD's) in their come from behind Homecomming game Win against one of Arizona's 5A title contenders. Ran back 2 KO's for TD's during his Sr. season. Also Started on Defense the 2nd half of the season so his carries went down (900 yds? for the season).. He also went to 3 football camps at NU (and was a 3.85 student wanting to go into E.Engineering like my Brother).. But was never offered. (My brother said it was because he was White). I wonder what's changed, if anything.
  14. What was it Granny Holtz useta say? "Life is 10% what happenes to you..90% how you deal with it". Something gives me the impression that Freeman really wishes he could've somehow gone to both places and feels bad for letting the NU coaching staff down..But made the right decision about going to KSU. It does no good to condemn him now..Just wish him luck and show a good face to the next recruits. Would you trust a new Girlfriend that obsessed about a former Boyfriend that hurt her? People tend to gravitate to class.
  15. Weather Sucks! Shoot, I grew up there, and I won't go back while I can see my breath!..We're shooting for this Summer to take the kids back there. I doubt Callihan has that much recognition (yet) as a coach that'll get you to the next level..Many feel getting into a Superbowl is a fluke..More luck involved than anything..Other than that, how sucessful was he or Norvel at developing QB's in the NFL? In the eyes of a kid like Freeman or Tebow?
  16. Sam? Is that you? Quit posting as MVPujols just to see people talk about you. I was really looking forward to watching you out here this season, but hope to see you tear it up for NU soon. So what's this I read a couple weeks ago about the real reason Koetter demoted you? Fibbing on your workout card? :hmmm Stay warm!
  17. THey both soumd good. But they'll both kill ya.
  18. Yeah..I feel bad for piling on..He'll prabably always be fun to pick on..You only kid the ones you really love, right?
  19. You should've seen it before I added that last part. I'd seen that same version a couple of years ago in an email from an old girlFriend . I thought that it was was lame, so I tried to improve on it.. Still lame, I guess. OK.. Here's another one My Sister sent 5 min. ago. (Video) I thought it was another Urban Myth like she usually fwds to me. http://cjcphoto.com/can/
  20. Nahh. Cally's liable to pull his starters and save them for the playoffs... Dooh!
  21. CU has been deceiving everybody. They're trying to lull everybody to sleep just so they can beat us! And Cally doesn't care about this game..We already won the Norse Div. which was his main (Only?) goal. What's the spread?
  22. Didn't see a "cubicle" for Jokes, but I just got this one emailed to me from my Sister in Lincoln... Stop me if you've heard it. THE NEBRASKAN A guy from Nebraska dies and goes to Hell. He had been a horrible man all his life. The devil puts him to work breaking up rocks with a sledgehammer. To make it even worse, he cranks up the temperature and humidity. > After a couple of days, the devil checks in on his victim to see if he is suffering adequately. The devil is aghast as the Nebraskan is happily swinging his hammer and whistling a happy tune! > The devil walks up to him and says "I don't understand this! I've turned the heat way up, it's humid and you're crushing rocks. Why are you so happy?" > The Nebraskan, with a big smile, looks at the devil and replies, "This is great! It reminds me of August in Lincoln. Hot, humid and a good place to work. It reminds me of home. This is fantastic!" > The devil, extremely perplexed, walks away to ponder the Nebraskan's remarks. He then decides to drop the temperature, send down a driving rain and torrential winds. Soon, Hell is a wet, muddy mess. > Walking in mud up to his knees with dust blowing in his eyes, the Nebraskan is happily slogging through the mud pushing a wheelbarrow full of crushed rocks. Again, the devil asks how he can be so happy in such awful conditions. > The Nebraskan, with a big smile, looks at the devil and replies, "This is great! It's just like April in Lincoln. It reminds me of working out in the yard with spring planting. It reminds me of home. This is fantastic!" > Now the devil is completely baffled. He is more determined than ever to make the Nebraskan suffer. He then makes the temperature plummet. Suddenly, Hell is blanketed in 3 feet of snow and ice. Confident that this will finally make the Nebraskan unhappy, he checks in on the Nebraskan again. He is again aghast at what he sees! > The Nebraskan is dancing, singing, and twirling his sledgehammer as he cavorts in utter glee! "How can you be so happy? Don't you know it's 40 below zero?" screams the devil. > Jumping up and down the Nebraskan throws a snowball at the devil and yells "Hell is frozen over!! That means the Cornhuskers held a first half lead and beat a B12 South opponent that wasn't Baylor!!" Or something like that.
  23. Way to have faith. Next time dont watch or listen period and we wont give up the lead. :hmmm BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH Question BC, and you are Judas. Get pissed when the team is outplayed, and you aren't a "real fan." Walk away from the radio after ZT throws a pick because you are just too emotionally spent, and you have no faith. It's like a broken record with some people. It's so predictable it's a bit pathetic. Get over yourself and your "holier than thou" attitude. And that goes for others on this board who self-righteously blanche at the very hint of dissention or dissatisfaction. I posted this jovially, willing to admit that I walked away too soon, but hinting that maybe I'm a good luck charm. All in good fun, you know? But noooooooo... Some folks feel the need to put me in my place. I haven't qualified for the scarlet-colored glasses or the free two-liter bottle of eternal optimism (WARNING - Side effects may include losing grasp of reality). Please bare with me. And I'll try to keep my mouth shut until I learn what a "real fan" really is... :hmmm OK, Then.. (J/K)
