  1. That WOULD be fun! I was down there with our band back in '78 and the next day we went to Arrowhead to play during a Chiefs halftime. Lawrence is a cool town. I'd love to go to ANY Husker game at this point, haven't been in about 12 yrs....maybe the CU game this month. Gonna be in NYC 2morrow to watch the KSU game w the NE Society fans at an Irish Pub. Big Apple vs l'il Apple. You have NO IDEA what you're talking about Zebop. KU HAS the facilities for football ANS is getting the recruits to maintain. You're Huskers will not finish above us next year. I can promise that. You lose way too much from your team to be predicting a North title. Ganz, Swift, all those clowns are gone. New QB, 2nd year coach, and on the road in Lawrence spells loss. Sorry dude. Just being honest. Enjoy your winning record this year and your win against KU (Keep in mind we beat you in 05 and 07). KU will not just fall off the map just because you want us to. I'm sick of hearing your nonsense on this board. You have no good comebacks AND your really giving the true husker fans a bad rep. Your a bad sport and I can't believe the mods continue to let you post. It's criminal if you ask me. KU has the best athletic director in the country and we just invested around 32 million dollars in our football program to bring in the best facilities in the country. Nebraska is on a island in their state and will continue to try and compete out of state for the best kids because the state of Nebraska doesn't have enough blue chip athletes. KU is in fact a better situation becaue we're closer to Kansas City and our Texas ties (as of late) are better than Nebraska's. KU is not going anywhere and you'll just have to deal with it.
  2. With MU losing 2 QB's, you think they will still be on top of the North? I'll give this a shot... 1. Kansas - Reesing gives the edge to KU 2. Nebraska - QB play will determine where we are at 3. Missouri - Too much talent leaving, but will still be strong 4. Iowa State - They have to win sooner or later 5. Colorado - Just because i don't like them 6. KSUcks - They are a mess Just my 0.02 Actually I think that Missouri and NU will be tied atop the North with the winner of our game deciding who goes to the championship game. Colorado will be better than Kansas next season because I think Reesing is the only thing keeping that team up there right now and Colorado is very young right now and has alot of injuries. Kansas should be favored going into next season.
  3. I wouldn't worry much about your injuries. Now, if Prince and the Mildcats are scratched at the last moment, and the Longhorns come to town to take their place, then worry! Otherwise, don't worry. KSU is comparable to a bunch of 5th grade girls riding the "Short Bus". It wouldn't surprise me if NU was up by 4 TD's at halftime.
  4. That's some funny stuff Cy. Pass the kool-aid cause I'm thirsty!
  5. I don't see NU underestimating KSU. I think Nebraska will win this game by two scores. However, the original poster is right....in a way. Ronnie Princess will be pulling out all the stops-trick plays, going for it on 4th down. Heck, he'll throw he kitchen sink at Nebraska for his final home game. The thing Nebraska needs to eliminate is TURNOVERS. They did a good job of overcoming those things against KU, but turning the ball over on the road is a different beast all together. Limit the turnovers=easy win for NU. Turn it over and who knows what will happen in Mancappin!
  6. I agree with all your picks, accept I like Baylor over A&M. Also, will the loss of Cody Glenn change the views of some Husker fans? That's a tough loss. If he was suspended for steroids, does Nebraska have to give their win over KU back? Funny how Bo waited until after the KU game to suspend him. How Convienient!!
  7. Alright Zebop, you've run your mouth enough. You beat KU by 10 then suddenly you're calling for wins against KU next year? Keep in mind that you lose your QB and the game next year is in Lawrence. We return our entire offense, and lose our crappy linebackers. We'll see how you fair in Lawrence. As for my prediction, Michael, yes, I admit I predicted a 10-2 season. I didn't expect Texas Tech to go GANGBUSTERS and start blowing the doors off their opponents. Neither did I expect a freshman kicker to beat us with 2 seconds left in USF. Nor did I ever think a first year coach of Nebraska would be able to beat us after we smoked you guys last year. I also didn't expect Texas to somehow IMPROVE after losing Jamal Charles and Limas Sweed, and a ton of players on defense!! I'm still shocked how that happend. Now we have to play Texas and Missouri back to back. So yes, 6-6 is a strong possibility. Just be glad your beloved Huskers don't have to play the schedule my Hawks have played. You saw how you did in Norman (Game over after a quarter). I would stop flapping my gums if I were you cause there is still a lot of football left and if you lose to KSuck how stupid will ya'll look? Not really into this whole arguement, but I really don't get this one. Haven't you looked at the schedules for both teams lately? Below are the schedules for both teams. The current W-L record for each opponent is on the very right. Schedules look very similar to me. -Kansas 8/30 Florida International W (4-5) 9/06 Louisiana Tech W (5-4) 9/12 @ South Florida L (6-3) 9/20 Sam Houston State W (4-4) 10/04 @ Iowa StateW (2-8) 10/11 Colorado W (5-5) 10/18 @ Oklahoma L (9-1) 10/25 Texas Tech L (10-0) 11/01 Kansas State W (4-6) 11/08 @ Nebraska L (6-4) 11/15 Texas (9-1) 11/29 Missouri (8-2) ---Overall Opponent Win/Loss record YTD: 72-43, 62.6 win % -Nebraska 8/30 Western Michigan W (8-2) 9/06 San Jose State W (6-4) 9/13 New Mexico State W (3-6) 9/27 Virginia Tech L (6-3) 10/04 Missouri L (8-2) 10/11 @ Texas Tech L (10-0) 10/18 @ Iowa State W (2-8) 10/25 Baylor W (3-7) 11/01 @ Oklahoma L (9-1) 11/08 Kansas W (6-4) 11/15 @ Kansas State (4-6) 11/28 Colorado (5-5) ---Overall Opponent Win/Loss record YTD: 70-48, 59.3 win % Yeah....real similar....where is Nebraska's trip to South Florida? Your game against V-Tech was in Nebraska. Where is your game against Texas? Oh, that's right. You played Baylor. Please! Plus you had Missouri at home. We have to play those punks on a neutral field. I will give you that your conference schedule is tougher simply because of the one team difference, BU vs. UT. However the non-conference schedules are not even close. Overall W-L comparison shows this: KU (19-16, 54.3 win %) vs. NU (23-15, 60.5%). For NU: WMU is 8-2 and getting votes in the poles, VT is 6-3 and just knocked off a ranked team, heck even SJS is 6-4. For KU their signature loss, South Florida, is decent, but 3 losses in their last 4, making them 1-3 in the horrible Big East, shows that they aren't elite as they were made out to be. The much better non-conference schedule makes up for one big difference in the conference IMO, but hey opinions vary! I agree with your stats, but you have to admit- I would much rather play V-Tech at home, rather than traveling to South Florida and playing on a hot, muggy night in September. That's a difficult place to play, regardless of records. FYI- I like Miami over V-Tech this Thursday. How bad is the ACC & Big East! LOL
  8. Mark May must be behind this. As a Jayhawk fan I'll admit that Nebraska deserves a vote over my hawks. Last time I checked you did win the game. I was a little shocked to see the 1 vote for KU. Oh well. It won't matter much in 2 weeks anyways.

  11. KSuck will likely play their butts off for Senior Day and Ronnie Princess. But in the end, they'll self implode and hand the game to the Huskers. But the Huskers need to do a better job of taking care of the football. That will cost you on the road. Huskers beat KSU by 12 in Manhattan. My Jayhawks SHOCK the world and beat Texas this weekend! A guy can dream, can't he!
  12. Not surprising that Ze Bop would be the first Husker to kick the KU fans while they're down.
  13. I hate our band. I wish KU would get rid of the band. They're annoying and their uniforms are embarrassing.
  14. First off, I just want to say that was a great football game. Congratulations Husker Nation. You have the better team and deserved to win the game. Your kids played an outstanding football game. Your team has made HUGE strides in just 1 year. You all should be on cloud nine right now. I expect you to finish 8-4 this year and that is remarkable for a first year coach. My friends that went to the game called me and said they had a great time. You have the best fans in CFB. They were treated with great respect and had an outstanding time. As for my Hawks, we have MUCH work to do. Not sure how we're going to respond next week against Texas. All I know is I hope we don't get blown out. We have some major problems on defense. Again, great game Huskers. I'll be having nightmares about Helu running the ball down our throats and that incredible defensive lineman you have, that also caught a td pass. Absolutely amazing! Your team was on target. Great bounce back after the OU game. Good luck the rest of the year. I'll be pulling for you. I want to write more, but my 1 week old daughter is starting to cry and I have to take care of my fatherly duties!! She is the reason that I couldn't make the trip to Lincoln this year. But I'm not complaining. She has me wrapped around her finger already! Again, good game. JGS30
  15. Fixed your post. I can't believe you took the time to do that. The closer to gametime, the more optimistic I become. KU by 14!!!
  16. LOL! I love it! MUUUUUSSSSSKKKK......DUUUUUUSSSSSKKKK.....COOOOOORRRNNHUSSSSSK...NNNNNNUUUUUUUUU!!!!! I think a tradition was just born.
  17. Actually, theres no way that can happen if everything happens the way you say it will. If Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma State & Oklahoma that would give Texas Tech 2 losses. So if that happens, unless you're predicting Texas losing to Baylor, Kansas or Texas A&M, Texas will go over either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State b/c they beat them both head to head. True, OU needs tech to beat OSU (and then to beat tech) to get a 3 way tie where each is 1-1. I am not sure of all the other tiebreakers, but if OU and UT both have 1 loss, UT won the head to head. ALso, that assumes OU and UT win out, which they could , but they may not. Oops. I did goof that one up. If Tech losses to OU and beats OSU, then OU will go to the Big 12 title game if they win out because in the end they will be ranked ahead of Texas. I know that makes no since, especially since Texas beat OU head to head, however, in the case of 3 way ties, the South or North representative is decided by the team that has the highest BCS rank will go to the Big 12 title game. With OU's remaining games against OSU that last weekend will be enough to jump Texas in the final rankings. Texas has games against 3 unranked opponents from here out.....unless my hawks somehow become ranked before the 15th. I know that it's unfair to have OU ranked ahead of Texas at the end, but just watch, it will happen because the voters go off of a "what have you done for me lately mind set". And the OU win over OSU will be enough to receive the higher ranking.
  18. If you want to compare like opponents then we can talk about the OU VS Nebraska game last week. It was 35-0 OU at the end of the first. OU didn't pull away from KU until the 3rd quarter. It was 31-24 at the half. Both games were in Norman. There. More logic for your crack pipe.
  19. KU is a different team from when they played ISU. Spikes was still playing left tackle and Hatch was at right. Since they switched, our running game has been great. The line seems to get better with each week. We also have a different secondary (besides Stuckey) and they put together a complete game against KSU last week. ISU has been descending since the KU game and one of their QB's left after the KU game. Nebraska doesn't suck. This will be a close game. I think turnovers will be the difference.
  20. That's really cool. I didn't know that about Micah. Kinda surprised he didn't go to Nebraska.
  21. It's prediction time: After many many hours in the lab I've come to this conclusion. KU wins in a hard fought game. Reasons: 1. Nebraska has turned the ball over 18 times this year. That is a scary stat for any ball club, especially in a game like this. KU wins the turnover battle. 2. Nebraska's receivers. As I mentioned before, they're quality players, but none of them are home run threats. Great possession receivers, but I see KU defenders giving less cushion this week and containing them. Ganz will get his 300 yars in the air, but again, the turnover factor will come into play and NU will leave many points on the field because of it. 3. Reesing. He is the gamebreaker here. He can elude the rush and wear down the Nebraska defense. He does a great job of buying time in the pocket with his feet and forcing opposing defenses to cover receivers longer. 4. The KU O-line is gelling. The running game is back and Jake Sharp is a major reason why. He has turned into a gamebreaker that can hit the homerun at any time. Look for the shovel pass to Sharp to go for huge yards. 5. Dezmond Briscoe and Kerry Meir. You can't cover these two: only hope to contain them. If KU gets down they'll go to them often, and Kerry Meir is the king of converting 3rd downs. On the flip side, the thing that worries me is the atmosphers in memorial stadium and the emotion from both their players and fans. This is a true revenge game and it won't be easy for the Jayhawks. A win over KU would solidify this season as a sucess for Bo being it's his first year. I see KU weathering the storm and coming away with a W for the first time since 1968. It will be a great game and I suggest if you're not going to order it on payper view. KU 38 NU 34 JGS30 USF Beat KU 37-34. Damn that freshman kicker of theirs!! Happy now Saunders?
  22. Bah...I thought drugs were supposed to give you short term memory loss... Either someone lied to me or you're the exception to the rule.... I thought for sure the "USC Look alike jerseys would be good for a few more ISU wins. I'm still waiting for the day that Tim Weiser announces that ISU has been replaced by Colorado State in the Big 12. That will be a great day for the Big 12. He'll announce that on the same day that Kansas announces it has it's first ever football Academic All-American... OK? Hmmm...actually John Larson and Russell Brorsen were both Academic All-Americans last year. So you're telling me ISU has been replaced?
  23. Weren't you on here saying how KU was going to go 10-2 this season with a record of 2-1 in the South? Last time I checked, Kansas was 6-3 overall and 0-2 in the South, with three games left in the season. What happened there? Kansas may win against Nebraska (I do think Nebraska will win if they play their game), but I don't see Kansas beating Missouri, and I definitely don't see them beating Texas. Yes I was. I did say KU would finish 10-2. Our O-line isn't as good as I thought and our defense is hurting from the losses of Talib and McClinton worse than I expected. I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong. I just wanted to make it clear to Cy that he completely whiffed on his ISU prediction. At least I'll be within 2 games
