  1. Oh good grief get over it. I never said we completely made you what you are. The original Big 6 & 8 Conference helped. Never said we made you completely. Fine, leave the Big 12, but don't come crawling back when Michigan & Ohio State run things. There's a bully in every playground junior. I'd advise standing up to them, rather than running.
  2. And that's the biggest problem here. What is Nebraska that Kansas isn't? Why should Nebraska have 800+ wins all time, five national championships, over 30 conference championships, individual trophy winners that span decades and Academic All-Americans without peer? Why doesn't Kansas have these things, with a larger population and more economic wealth as a state? The answer is simple - at a crucial time in the development of Kansas sports, you lacked the will to build your football program in the same manner Nebraska did. You could have. You have better resources than we do. You have the ability - you just didn't. OK KNAPP, you're comparing apples to oranges here. Try forming a College Football Power in a state that has less that 1.5 million people, plus being right besides a MAJOR METRO Area (Kansas City-in case you didn't have a map on hand) and having to compete with the Chiefs, Royals, and everything else the area has to offer. Then, throw in those PURPLE QUEERS TO THE WEST, Stealing half of your states fanbase and here we are today. We don't have the resources and fanbase you have. Let me re-phrase that-we may have better resources, but we must "share" them with others.....does that make since? The entire freaking state of Nebraska backs the team. Of course you have a huge advantage over us, not to mention, we invented Basketball and we all know how much that means to us. So spare me your comment about lacking the will. We had it, it's just difficult from a geographic standpoint my friend. And now that football is the unquestioned king of college sports, and Nebraska has a rightful place near the top of college football's pyramid of power, you want us to sacrifice all of that and stay in a dysfunctional conference for... what? Sympathy?
  3. That's not accurate and you know it B-Rent. It's nothing against the University of Nebraska. Kansas and Nebraska has had close ties for many, many years. So you're saying that, as a Husker fan, you're alright with leaving a conference that your school benefited greatly from, along with ties and rivalry that started around the Civil War Days, long before our time, and your cool with what will happen to the schools that helped make you the power that you are today? I don't believe ANY of the Huskers I know are cool withg that. I say kick Texas, Dan Beebe, and the rest of the Texas schools out and start back with the Big 8 and look elsewhere to expend to 12. Screw Texas and the money ship they came in on. actually that is very very accurate and i know it. im not trying to be an ass but frankly every other school was looking out for themselves when they made those votes (ie. more money and texas joining the big 8) and now that Nebraska is looking out for itself, those same schools are begging us not to do it. i love tradition but to say that we owe any other school anything is asinine and inaccurate. if the other 7 original big 8 members can look out for numero uno then so can the member that i root for and quite simply put they should. on top of all of that, its not a matter of IF but rather a matter of WHEN the conferences realign. this has been brewing for a while now and its going to happen either now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now or so on. So you're saying, because your school doesn't have the most money (ie Texas), you're cool with them leaving to start fresh at a new conference? I don't think you're being an ass at all. In fact, I enjoy the discussion. Yes, any of our schools have the right to look out for numero uno, but is this really the best move for Nebraska as a University? And for the cost of long time rivals and relationships built? What makes going to the Big 10 better? Sure, they have cost sharing now, but what if that changes....will you leave again? And if Notre Dame comes to the Big 10, speculation is that Nebraska wouldn't be invited. Not much loyalty there, but then again, you're ready to leave the Big 12. Hmmmmmmm......
  4. Texas doesn't view anyone else but themselves favorably. Still doesn't mean Nebraska should leave for another conference....particularly a "slow" conference like the Big 10....but that's for another discussion altogether. Anyway, back on point, If Nebraska leaves, that's like running from the neighborhood bully (Texas). As a conference, the Big 12 needs to get Dan Beebe out of his position of power and find someone who has a pair to stand up to Texas and implement cost sharing and a Big 12 telivion network to share equally. But Dan Beebe is a complete moran and has no business in his current position.

  6. What 11-1 votes are you referring too? I'm seriously curious to know. As it's aligned right now, Nebraska is second only to Texas in terms of dollars earned from the conference. So how have we been against you?
  7. 2001 Miami Hurricane Football Team was the greatest College Football Team Ever assembled. 95 Huskers are 2nd.
  8. I know everyone has just been bombed with news about this re-alignment. Here is my final take, and last ple to keep the conference in tact. Nebraska needs to stay in the Big 12. Period. You owe it to the founding fathers of the orginal Big 8 conference....ya know, where your proud roots have been laid and your foundation of a program? You Big 8 siblings are waiting for you to make your move. Sevaerl (My Jayhawks) knowing that if you leave, it could throw our program into one of the biggest pickles ever. It would show alot of class if Nebraska chooses to do the right thing and stay. Now, is it wrong that Texas makes all the money-yes, but can't we work togetehr like the old days and throw out the Texas schools? Bring back to Big 8!! Yeah, I know dollars are behind all of this realignment, but has dollars clouded our history and what is right with scholastic ahletics? Texas is holding none of the original 8 schools hostage. There is no reason they couldnt work together and start a new Big 8. I cringe to think of watching my Jayhawks turn independent. Many speculate that KU would turn to the Mountain West...I disagree. KU is much too proud of a school to settle for a lower teir conference. They would stay independent, until the right deal is reached....and who really knows how long that would take. If Nebraska leaves for the dollars I will lose alot of respect for your program. If you leave, it goes against everything Nebraska stands for. "Tradition" is the word ALL Nebraska fans tout when asked about their football program. It started with the Big 8 and continued with the Big 12. If you leave for the Big 10, then so much for tradition. That will mean nothing to teams like Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. They could care less what you did many moons ago. Alright, I'm done typing, because the more I think about this, the more mad I get. The original 8 should not break up. Tradition still means something to this Jayhawk fan, unlike many around this country. I know there are still alot of Husker fans that agree with me.

  10. Mark Mangino!!! Bring some good ole fashion discipline to Nebraska. I can see it now, "ok boys, we're doing bear crawls on the newly tarred pavement". "I want 30 of them and no cheating or I'll sit on you"! -Mangino
  11. In my opinion, the 3 main games that will be tough tests for Nebraska will be Texas, Mizzou and Tex A&M. I love throwing out percentages, so i'd say the Texas game is a 50/50 toss up at this point. As for Mizzou, I'd say your chances are around 65% that you will beat them, and and I'd give you a 70% edge against Texas A&M. Overall I think Nebraska will finish 10-2. But wouldn't be surprised if they go 11-1. I don't see an undefeated season just yet. Tough to bring it week to week in the Big 12 and stay undefeated. I don't think anyone will pull that off this year in the Big 12.
  12. I'm pretty sure that Thenarse has never had a TD. I think you're thinking of Asante's pick 6 against ULL when he kinda hobbled out of the endzone and everyone thought it was an ACL. I think overall these rankings are pretty spot on. However, Georgia Tech lost alot of talent in the draft and I just don't see them staying in the top 25. I'd also consider sliding the Miami Hurricanes up to the 8 or 9 spot. I think the winds are changing down there in Florida and they win the ACC in 2010.
  13. Husker B Rent- Say it isn't so my old friend? We got Gill Baby!! Our 3-5 Big 12 North Record should be enough to get us out of the celler. Plus our South schedule flips. We play Baylor, OSU-who lost even more then KU did, and Texas A&M. IMHO, the best teams in the North break down in this order: Nebraska, Missouri, K-State, Iowa State, Kansas, and then Colorado. The reasons I have KU below ISU are because Kansas lost a lot of pieces that made them special the last few years, and they also have a coach that is relatively unproven against BCS caliber competition. There are too many question marks to put them above 5th in the North, imho. But, I still think Gill will eventually do well there and possibly turn them into a contender. However, I just don't see it happening in 2010. I respect that Enhance. I think there's more talent left on this Jayhawk team than people think. I would dare say we'll have more playmakers this year, than last with Patterson, Beashers and Quigley moving back to offense. I think the main problem with the Mangino era was his constant shuffling players in and out of positions. You can't get steady improvement when you do that. I'm not expecting much this year. I think 6-6 is very possible for KU with the easier schedule. But I wouldn't be surprised if KU finished 5-7 or 4-8 either. Outside of Nebraska, Missouri (pains me to say that), and Georgia Tech, I'd say the rest of KU's games could be considered toss ups.
  14. Kansas State at 6? Somebody is smokin.

  16. Nebraska had 8 turnovers that game and ISU still barely managed to win. Iowa State will finish last in the Big 12.
  17. Good luck you guys! I have my Husker Red on tonight! Make the Big 12 North proud! And....blow the BCS up with a win over Texas!!!
  18. This has been confirmed here in Kansas City. Gill is interviewing with Lew Perkins tomorrow in Lawrence. As a KU fan, he is one of the guys I would love to have as coach.
  19. Good job Ags. You went toe to toe with Texas and almost pulled it out. One heck of a job. Good luck today Huskers. Make Colorado re-think their decision to keep their coach!
  20. Husker Fans, I just want to congratulate you guys on beating KSU and I'd like to thank you. KSU has the worst fanbase in the history of athletics, and I appreciate you guys shutting their mouth for at least another year. Not only did you stop them from winning the North, you eliminated them from bowl contention. Thank you so very much!! My facebook page, and hotmail accounts were trashed with my KSU friends smart A$$ remarks. Guys who hadn't said a word to me about KSU football for like 3-4 years were suddenly coming from everywhere proclaiming KSU's greatness. Thank you for ending their brief run. We plan to beat them by 50 in basketball, but that's neither here, nor there. They;re so dead. Anyway, Congrats again on the win. Go beat the crap out of Colorado and make us proud in the Big 12 Title game. I will warn you though, that Texas team is firing on all cylinders. Not that ya'll don't already know that, but they may have the best defense I've seen since....heck, I don't even know. Watch out for #12 (Thomas) on their defense. The guy is amazing and just kept making plays. They were by far the best team I've seen play KU all year. Make the Big 12 North proud and give it your all, but don't hang your ehad if you lose. Texas is worthy of a National Title Shot. No question about it.
  21. National anthem just ended. Just passed some husker fans making fun of our stadium. Real classy. I hope we dominate from start to finish now. Go hawks!!!! Ps- not near as many husker fans as people thought. I would say about 25 percent of the stadium
  22. The KU defense is not as bad as Baylor's. I've watched every KU game this season from start to finish and they have greatly improved since the ISU game. Why? Because of all the changes. 6 new starters on defense has helped greatly. Helped us get to average in my opinion. If any of u have watched our last 4 games u would see that our offense is giving out presents like it's Christmas! Not to mention fumbling the ball away inside our red zone. That's killing us and that's what beat us in Mancrappin. Reesing gas turned it over 12 times in 4 games. Nobody can win when your QB is playin like that.
  23. This Jayhawk fan is still here alive and well. But like the others, we're all a little shocked on how this season got away from us so quickly. "History in the Making" was the quote we heard all preseason from the KU Athletic Dept, along with sky rocketing ticket prices. We all bought the bogus goods that Lew was selling and now we're basically in a free fall after losing to those purple queers to the west. The true fans, like myself, will be there in full force. Rest assured we will have mote fans than u, but not like 2 years ago. We now play the role of spoiler, just hoping to become bowl eligible at this point. Who knows, maybe the team will play better in this role, maybe they won't. We'll see on Saturday!
  24. You guys played one heck of a game. I really like your chances of winning the North. I'm gonna have to ask Knappl if there is room next to him on the bandwagon!! I know he saved me a seat, I just hope he didn't give it away already!! lol.
  25. I think lee will be fine against lesser opponents. the ou's and Vtech of the world he will not be great, but will not hurt us with TO's either. but against KU, KSU ad CU he is our best option IMO. greens ball security concerns me. I agree with that statement. As long as he Husker offense can secure the ball, and score 10 or more points, you shouldn't have much trouble beating KU, KSU or CU. All 3 teams are very suspect. It's funny how KSU fanes are suddenly thumping their chest and proclaiming the North title after they beat KU who turned the ball over 4 times, by only 7 points. What a bunch of jokers. Nebraska should handle them easily.
