  1. it's free for unl students with their id. for general admission its $7 for adults and $5 for seniors (60+) and high school (and younger). (kids 6 and under are free in the g.a.
  2. Even if you don't park north, you should check out that bridge. It's just awesome seeing everyone cross over. The University pushes the Husker Pavillon at Ed Weir track. It's not too bad- you can get some food there if you don't downtown. Nothing fantastic, but you should see it once (I haven't been there at all this year). Also, check out the band's warm-up south of the stadium before they head to the stadium (but that's kinda late and I always like getting in the stadium early).
  3. You know, we sometimes here "ohh there's gonna be a ton of Husker fans there" and there is usually lots, but sometimes it isn't quite up the hype. Why is this? I don't know how easy it is to get tickets anymore, but I think it's alot easier than many think. I'm going to be done there with the band, and I can't wait to see how many Husker fans make the trip. Let's blow away any estimates and take over K.C.
  4. Nice thread. It's good to hear alittle perspective on things. I do agree that things have changed with the scholarships. Now every weekend warrants attention (as some teams have found out). It's just a matter of when we get to the point where our coaching and recruit align and propel us to a Nat'l Champ.
  5. He's keeps impressing me on and off the field. I hope he gets back to 100% soon. He has got me on the edge of my seat everytime I watch one of his interviews.
  6. With all the money thrown around in football and tv, why doesn't ABC broadcast all of its games in HD? This is not that big of deal, and it probably doesn't apply to many people, but still... Hey atleast we are on tv.
  7. Despite our last two games (and our disappointing showing down at OSU), let's not get caught up in negativity, blaming players/coaches etc, and other b.s. Let's come to Lincoln this Saturday and have the place rocking. We need to pull together and support our Huskers. Let's face it: some of us are disappointed of where we are right now, our playcalling, etc (many other valid issues), yet we are in the thick of things. We are 2 wins from going to the Big 12 Championship game, which always gives both teams a chance to make it big: a BCS game. Most of us will agree that we want to be back in the National Championship picture, and why we are not quite there yet, we can be.. and soon. All I'm saying, let's look at the bright side for this week's game (and we do need to discuss "bad" things and criticism (both negative and positive) is good). Let's support our players and coaches and come out loud and rowdy. GBR!
  8. Very interesting story. Makes me wonder a bit... but not too much! I'm glad we've went with Franky and gave him a chance (if not a short one) and I'm happy with Callahan. I won't spend much time thinking about this one, but it's worth noting.
  9. the '02 Texas game was awesome, but this one was definitely better imo. There seems to be times were some sections in the stadium don't get really into the game. But this game, it seemed like everyone was jumping around not only after the TD but even during the break before the kickoff, etc.
  10. Already I've heard too much about the "Texas comeback" to beat Nebraska. No one seems to have actually watched the game and know that we arguably played the better game. If not for our comeback with 2 tds in the 4th, Texas would not have had to make such an effort. No respect from the media.
  11. Does anyone know who made that video? It was awesome, maybe we should send it in to Huskervision or something because we need to utilize our biggg screen to get the crowd rocking every defensive series.
  12. No one can blame ONE SINGLE PLAY for losing or winning a game. Yes we may like to, and it may seem "obvious" but only because it directly led to another event. If our defense wouldn't have stopped Texas right away after our late TD, we wouldn't have even had the ball. Then we would have been blaming them. I guess, just stopped blaming one player/one play. Let's focus on next week.
  13. For the most part, our d played pretty well. We started the game out really well- too bad we gave them all those free yards on the first kickoff return. For awhile tho, it seemed like we weren't getting anything done on d-- letting McCoy sit back and attempt to pick us apart. We turned it on towards the end. If not for our big d stand after our TD to take the lead, we wouldn't even have the ball for Nunn to fumble.
  14. Well let's make this '99 again and take care of the rest of our schedule and beat them in the CCG. Other than the opening kickoff, our defense began the game on fire (a 3-and-out how many times??) If not for the return... some people mention the 7 pts Texas left off the board (with the 2 missed kicks and the blocked extra pt) yet, I think that the first 3 pts are alittle "forgotten."
  15. Was West Stadium actually jumping up and down before the kickoff after we took the lead?? I'm surprised McCoy wasn't bothered more by the noise.
  16. Exactly. We just need to take care of ourselves. Let's run through the rest of the Big 12 and the polls will take care of themselves. How about a great rebound game against OSU? Let's take it out on them.
  17. Good post. Of the all the games I've been to, the last 2 Texas home games have been my favorites. The game was electric (and for some reason it wasn't soo much against OU last year-- I was actually disappointed with our crowd). This game, we were in it the whole way. Even though we weren't ahead by much, I thought we had the game. We both got breaks, but on the road, Texas just lucked out the biggest.
  18. Ok.. go ahead and blame Nunn for the fumble.. but here are a few reasons you can't blame Nunn for us losing to Texas: 1. Texas' final drive: we had a chance to stop them, they still made the field goal on the leg of walk-on's first kick. 2. Texas' other scores: where was our kick coverage on the opening kickoff? It was early on and we should have recovered, but it did hurt. 3. Our other turnovers. Each of them were bad, it was just that this one is the 'obvious' one that directly led to the score. There are more reasons that this, but yeah it was Nunn's fault for not holding onto the football-he didn't really have a chance tho- it was a good play by the Texas defender. Just don't blame the game on him.
  19. Wow, the crowd was awesome today. From everyone jumping around after our late TD, to cheering our team and chanting "Go Big Red" after the game, I was really impressed with the crowd. It was definitely the loudest I've heard Memorial Stadium.
  20. Yeah, we need to stay on top of things and take care ourselves. Each game presents us with some challenges. I am actually more worried about the road game at A&M rather than the Mizzou game but I just can't wait til next Saturday so we can get on our way to the Big 12 Champ. Game
  21. I also am not satisfied with a loss. Both teams got different breaks during the game, it was just Texas that pulled it out. When the snow began to fall, the stadium was absolutely rocking. It seemed like no one had anything to worry about. We do not have a long way to get back to where we need to be. One small change in numerous plays would change this game. On my walk back from the stadium, I found myself angry. Yeah I'm proud of our team, etc, but I couldn't really think of anyone to be mad at. We'll get them in K.C. Until then, we will just have to live killing the rest of the Big 12.
  22. Nice video again! I love the view from the endzone of Mo's "ball to helmet" catch-- you get a great view of KSU's defensive coordinator (I think that's what I heard) and his frustration about the catch.
  23. Good idea, but the way the last few years' Tunnel Walk has been.. Well, I guess part of it is ok, but it should get the crowd rocking (and not listening to what is being said). Either way, I think you have a great idea to get the crowd into it for the second half.
  24. I actually was wondering what A&M fans were saying while watching the A&M- Mizzou game. Have you been to Kyle?? and is there a link to those shirts?
