  1. This really bothers me. Ive said it before when Bo makes comments like this. This is no different than Callahan saying "Ive done an excellent job in all areas" Bo is basically saying he coaches they players perfectly but they they don't do what their told. Ive got a great idea Bo...teach them a better way to execute. This makes me shake my head. 10-7 in his last 17 is not good. I didn't even realize it was that bad.
  2. This bugs the crap out of me. It seems like every single time Bo is interviewed he says "we just didn't execute." Really Bo? Thats the best you can come up with? I wanna know WHY we didn't execute and what he's gonna do to change it so next time we do execute. Im beginning to think Bo recognizes there are problems but he doesn't know how to fix them, therefore we will not see progress. He has ideas in his head about how things should go and how he'd like to see things, he just doesn't know how to execute them.
  3. I don't care if we win 7 games a year but are competitive in our losses and show improvement. Throw in an 11 win season or better every once in a while. Nebrasaka is good enough that it should have a chance to win a National Title at least once a decade. They should also play in at least 1 BCS Bowl in the other 9 years. That leaves 8 years that could go 6-6 for all I care.
  4. How can you possibly say this? Those lapses in judgements are exactly why we are and have been a mediocre football team for a long time. The last 10 seasons have been great too, except for all those losses. You were ignoring the context. My point was that it didn't feel like we were down at all, because we were winning both sides of the ball, ASIDE from the 2 silly mistakes. Based on the play of both teams, Nebraska should have been up 17-7 at half or so. The mistakes are what cost the lead. The mistakes are why you lose. If every football team played mistake free football and executed perfectly on every play, in every game, every team would be undefeated.
  5. Our competition has been poor. I think you were agreeing with this but Im not sure. Our 9 wins came against..... Chattanooga, Fresno State, Washington, Wyoming, Ohio State, Minnesota, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa. Not too impressive. 1 of those teams will finish the season ranked in the top 25. Kinda like Georgia, who will likely finish ranked but who didn't beat a team that will finish ranked all year. And they had ten wins. Well Auburn will finish in the top 25 so I guess they are in a similar situation as we are. If I was a Georgia fan, I might feel the same way I feel about the Huskers. I would say their 10 wins are very unimpressive too.
  6. I completely understand it could be a lot worse. That is why I said that I would be happy if we were more competitive in our losses. I just see a team right now that is beating mediocre competition and getting drubbed by good teams.

  8. Ive had this discussion with several friends and family members. It is not a question that I or anyone else besides our AD can answer. How could I possibly know which coaches are available or interested in Nebraska. Sure I could come up with some fantasy list of coaches but it wouldn't be realistic and would be a waste of time. I will say this. I would want an offensive minded head coach who is in control of his emotions. I would also want a coach who hires established and qualified Offensive and Defensive Coordinators. We might have qualified coordinators already in place but we don't know because they didn't prove themselves before the hire.
  9. How am I simplifying it too much? We had 9 wins and not one of them was very impressive but we had 4 losses which were pathetic. I guess maybe I am simplifying it because it seems pretty cut and dry to me that we aren't very good. We haven't been very good under Bo Pelini and Im not sure what is going to change.

  11. If you had to guess, what does next season look like, in your opinion. Based on recent staff hires, returning talent, past success, everything. I personally don't see it being any different. Not sure how anyone could see it being better than it has been. The year after? Same thing. Year 7 we get a new QB and the process starts all over again. Yippee
  12. This will never happen. It's Bo's defensive philosophy to only rush 4 guys every down. It's 6 on 4 every play for our defensive linemen. Not gonna get much pressure that way. People should just get used to this.
  13. Out of your entire post, this was the only thing I noticed. LMAO FYI....he is our new OC....Bo promoted his buddy this past year to OC.
  14. Im tired of all the people on here who are satisfied with 9 win seasons. All the people who say Bo should be our coach as long as he wins 9 games are crazy. Why can't people understand that 9 wins today isn't the same as 9 wins 20 years ago? Combine playing more games each season with also playing more cream puffs in the non conference and a 9 win season becomes a facade for a good season pretty easily. This season we had 1 win which was decent, Michigan State. Even that game has an asterisk beside it because they were coming off a huge win the week before. Yet on the other side we have 4 losses that were absolutely pathetic losses. You also have a win against OSU that was probably the luckiest win Ive ever witnessed as a fan. We lose that game big if Miller doesn't get hurt. Things don't balance out. 1 good win with 4 bad losses? Something isn't right here. That's not a good football team. I would be much more optimistic about Bo and Co. if we were going 9-4 every year and our 4 losses were respectable, where we had a chance of winning the game. Keep your losses close, 7pt ave, not 19.75pts. Every year we get blown out in multiple losses, play a tight game/lose against a team that doesn't deserve to hold our jock strap, beat a handful of crappy teams, and people are always satisfied. "Next year will be our year", yet it never is. Nothing is changing. There is no progress. Same problems since year 1 with Bo. What is there to be excited about?
  15. If you admit to being a troll, isn't that enough to warrant a ban? Wisconsin's board must be pathetic if you feel the need to post so much on a rivals board. Get lost.
  16. wait when did you turn into a troll Dude has always been a troll. Anyone that posts as much as he does on a rival's message board must have way too much time on their hands. Go Away
  17. I heard that they are going to try and protect the competitve equity in these games. Meaning that they are going to try and match up the top teams from each conference. Meaning B1G #1 vs Pac #1. This makes a Rose Bowl rematch scenario even more likely.
  18. Just doesn't happen very often. Business or not, the bowls try to avoid regular season rematches. In the business aspect of it, they are afraid fans won't travel and buy tickets because it's a rematch. Most fans aren't gonna wanna watch a second game unless the 1st game as an amazing game.
  19. Not true. As of right now B1G is contracted to three bowl games against SEC (Capital One, Outback, Gator). Three bowl games against Big 12 (Insight, Meineke, TicketCity). And only one bowl game with Pac-12 which is the Rose Bowl. I know the B1G is contracted to play bowl games against the SEC and Big12. If Florida and Nebraska played a non conference game in an SEC vs B1G challenge and then happened to end up as the second or third place teams in both the B1G and SEC, the bowls could put, for example, Nebraska in the Cap One Bowl and Florida in the Outback to avoid the rematch. The wouldn't HAVE TO play each other again in the Cap One Bowl. If Nebraska and Oregon play each other in the non conference and then both teams end up winning their conference title, the HAVE TO play each other again in the Rose Bowl. There is no way to avoid the rematch. Only way they don't is if one of them is playing for the National Title.
  20. I can't wait till we get to watch a non conference B1G vs Pac12 game and then see a rematch in the Rose Bowl. I don't really understand the point of this. It would be completely different if it was against the SEC or Big12 because then you could avoid rematches in the bowls. There is no way to avoid it with the Rose Bowl.
  21. You think JP taught Alex how to kick? HAHA that is laughable.
  22. Wow...talk about a major bust of a hire. Below is John Papuchis' ENTIRE coaching resume. 2001–2003 Kansas (Graduate Assistant) 2004–2007 LSU (Graduate Assistant) 2008–2010 Nebraska (Special Teams) 2011 Nebraska (D-Line) 2012 Nebraska (DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR) The guy has only been out of college and coaching for 10 years, 6 of those years he was a Grad Assistant. JP has been a position coach for all of 4 years and now he is magically ready to become D-Coordinator? What a joke. I'm absolutely shocked that people on this board aren't furious about this hire. This hire is exactly the same as if we would have hired Scott Frost last year to become our Offensive Coordinator. I seem to remember people freaking out about the mere thought of that happening. Only difference is with Frost, we at least would have been bringing back "one of our own." Scott Frost Coaching Resume: 2002 Nebraska (GA) 2006 Kansas St (GA) 2007 N. Iowa (LB's) 2007-08 N. Iowa (Co-D Coord/LB's) 2009-present Oregon (WR's) See any resemblance? I sure do.
