  1. Who's in line to replace Cornish? He was a helluva Big XII back.
  2. Oh and along with cmb's request... Stop trying to beat us. K, thanks.
  3. Nope, I'm not kidding you. Try being optimistic. Running backs...we have Lucky, Glenn, Culbert (as it seems), Castille, Mendoza, and Helu...not to mention Lawson, who could play RB. Everyone is freaking out over Glenn's foot...he ran FINE, JUST FINE at the Spring Game. He has PLENTY of time to heal his foot he injured and played injured during last season. He's not playing right now, it'll be fine. Yeah Lucky has some durability issues, but nothing that has kept him out games at a time. But to your credit, we don't know if he's going to be playing because of his knee injury. Wide Receivers inconsistent, yeah at times...find me receivers that AREN'T inconsistent in the Big XII. We were said to have the best receivers in the Big XII. Yeah, Nebraska. You don't get that label for having inconsistent and bad receivers, as you're making them out to be. They are VERY productive receivers and have improved tremendously over the last couple of years. Defensive front. New faces? On the defensive line, sure. But remember Suh, and Turner? They can play, and have proved it. The other two line spots, we'll have to wait and see. We have Brandeburgh, McKeon, Octavien, Ruud, and Dillard all back at linebacker. All with experience. Then there's the great prospect Blake Lawrence who could contribute as well. Okay, so we don't have the best depth FOR NOW. But you're coming off saying that this team is basically going to be as good if not worse than last year's team. I just don't understand the logic there. We have one glaring are of concern and it's defensive line. Not running back. We didn't have a good situation at running back in 2005 (no offense to Cory Ross, cause he had a horrible offensive line)...but we made out fine.
  4. Wow, NO confidence what so ever in our team. Do you forget that Missouri has NO defense. They never do, but they're even worse this year. Wake Forrest is good, but they're beatable at home. It's not like their offense is the most complex thing. Along with losing some GREAT defensive players (Wake). Southern Cal and Texas are a different story, but I wouldn't jump too quick to say we're going to lose to Missouri for one, and Wake. We're going to be a better team than we were last year. We were 14th in the nation in scoring offense...better than the likes of USC and Texas, oh yeah and Florida. That was with Zac Taylor. Sam is a better QB, we have plenty of running backs, TONS of productive wide receivers, and a pretty well improved defense.
  5. I was referring to the hit where the QB got up and just wobbled, then fell back down. Or was that Nate Hybl? You know what, that was Hybl wasn't it? But you're right, it was just how he kinda hopped when he threw the pass and when he came down on it, it just tweaked odd and he crawled to the sidelines.
  6. I don't have one right off hand, but I think if you go to YouTube you can search the OU/NU game in 2001 highlights or something of the sort.
  7. Could someone provide some links to the videos so us lazy folk don't have to go looking for them? ha!
  8. There are quite a few expectations I have for this season, but one of the biggest ones is: Firing on all cylinders during the ENTIRE game. I don't want to see a slow down point, or a dull point, that is noticeable over the course of the season. I want to see the offense AND THE DEFENSE (especially) blasting and firing away every play of every quarter, of every game. That is huge, we need to put the hurt on teams and not let up. No more of this going up 17-0 and losing.
  9. OU's Chris Simm's Superman Interception I thought should have made the list in the bottom 5. That play still kinda shocks me, it was AWESOME! Also I'm surprised Crouch's TD catch against OU in 2001 wasn't on the honorable mention. I say HM, because yeah a lot of teams have done it, but to seal the victor in #2 vs #3 game is HUGE.
  10. Lucky probably won't be 100% by Fall Camp, but should be by the time our first game rolls around...pending more injury isn't sustained during Fall Camp. Cody ran pretty darn well at the spring game, so I really don't see an issue with him at this point. So again, unless another injury or reinjury comes up during Fall Camp I don't forsee a problem concerning Glenn. Mendoza will see some time, but he will not start, he will probably be used as a kickoff returner more than anything with his break away speed, but at this point it's obviously all speculation. We also have Roy Helu coming into the mix, but I figure a redshirt for him, or maybe Mendoza and not Helu. We'll have to wait and see. As far as Culbert goes, I don't think we'll see him a whole lot. I think Callahan wants to probably give him back to the defense once fall camp arrives. We'll have more running backs to work with as our freshman will be in, so having another DB on our defense is NOT bad thing at all of course. Let alone he might even be big enough to provide depth at LB too. But the first game, here's how my depth chart goes for our backfield. QB - Sam Keller, Joey Ganz, Zac Lee*/Patrick Witt RB - Marlon Lucky*/Cody Glenn, Marcus Mendoza/Roy Helu FB - Thomas Lawson, Matt Senske, Andy Sand *Pending injury status Also I didn't include who would redshirt and who might.
  11. Ginn wasn't even worthy of where he went with the Dolphins.
  12. Carriker will start. Unless he just for some reason, falls apart and sucks completely...he'll start opposite Little.
  13. I second that, that was a pretty vicious (but clean) hit. No matter who the opponent is, you never want to see someone get brain damage. Which obviously didn't happen as he smoked everyone 2 years later (except USC).
  14. I honestly think by the time the contact comes along in Training Camp he'll be okay. That's a lot of time for that to heal completely without him doing anything to get it reinjured again...like playing basically. I don't think he's going to need surgery.
  15. That would honestly be one helluva matchup to put them in the Oklahoma drill. They're HUGE, STRONG, AND fierce competitors...it's just that Richie has a temper problem. But none the less...that'd be awesome, I'd love to see that.
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...&id=2869794 Well done big man, WELL DONE.
  17. I still think a Favre-esque under arm toss to Cory Ross would have been relatively feasible. Cory Ross was just sitting in the endzone 2-3 yards away from him and the dback was about 5 yards from Ross. It would have worked. Ugh, I'm glad it's over. It sucks though...that was the last Husker game I was at. Sad, I know. But I've been afraid to go back since! I don't want to be bad luck!
  18. That was definitely a better hit than a few they had above that one on that show. I've seen that episode before. One I thought should have gotten honorable mention (at least from a Husker standpoint) was in 2003 when Fabian Washington just LEVELED that CU receiver and he didn't get the ball or anything. It was great, just BAM!!! And Fabian was just like "oops, sorry" haha, I loved it! Anyone else remember that?
  19. Nothing against you at all...but I don't buy it.
  20. Yes a Solich recruit, but he actually ran Solich's offense (not the hardest thing in the book) pretty well...at least from what we saw in 2003. So I wouldn't say he was a bust per se or anything like that. More so, wrong fit after Solich was gone.
  21. Well said...well said. I hope Davis sees that he still can throw the ball, just not every down and not always with pinpoint accuracy. So, use him like an Antwan Randle El or even Ronald Curry. WRs that were QBs once. They make for GREAT trick plays.
