  1. Of course. No one who is homesick ever admits he is/was homesick that led to a decision. I know, I've been there when I was about his age....
  2. "Not comfortable" is the reason. Sounds like homesick. Sorry to see a kid make such a huge decision in his life based upon being homesick. I can't help be feel like Keith Williams presence every day the last week would have made a difference....
  3. Shoot, I know. I grew up there! Kirkwoods is pretty fun for Husker stuff. It's a blast. When I was down in Atlanta the only Husker site options were one where I was the only white person in sight (which admittedly was a lot of fun, but only in doses) or one in the suburbs where everyone was my senior by at least ~15 years. Kirkwood is great, full of young people, and huge. It's more fun than a lot of places I'd watch back in Nebraska. Ever been to Rockwood on Clark just south of Wrigley Field? I've been to Kirkwood a lot, but now I live a stones throw from Rockwood and am wondering what the atmosphere there is like for Nebraska games...
  4. Last night of vacation and we'll be in Lisbon, Portugal. The game will be on at 1 a.m. local time. I'll be at the hotel watching on my laptop via BigTen2Go International ($14.95 for 24 hours pass). Don't care about staying up all night to watch the game as it will be the first step in re-adjusting to Central U.S. time.
  5. Sounds like Boe Wilson is getting a shot to make his case for burning RS....
  6. Info regarding Barnett here....
  7. I've heard he is still a bit raw. I'm guessing there is about to be a bunch more coverage of him in the news over the next few days.
  8. Time for Jalin Barnett to show the hype about him was justified.
  9. Apparently Stewart was the primary recruiter though one has to assume Parrella played a part in it.

  11. If you get called for a pick, you teach bad. Hook routes = legal pick play. As long as the receiver turns back to the QB looking for the ball that was never going to be thrown there in the first place. That's my point. The way it is called now is b.s. I'm not sure how to define the rule to strengthen it, but it needs changed so some teams will stop running plays that are designed to violate the spirit of the rule if not the way it is called.
  12. I wish they'd make an emphasis in calling illegal pick pass plays. (Shout out to Michigan State)
  13. They were warning for the same thing one week prior Right, not a smart decision at all. But getting a ticket for a loud party is pretty trivial. Like pay a $50 fine plus court costs type of trivial. This is a trivial teenager type of mistake and not something worthy of a suspension. Is a parking or traffic ticket worthy of a suspension too? Arguably a speeding ticket is more serious, because of the potential for harm caused by driving fast than a loud house party.
  14. Not very smart decision on their part, but also pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things. Used to be that the cops just broke up such parties and told everyone to move along. I guess now they have to issue some tickets to justify their time.
  15. Rumored to be announcing sometime this holiday weekend
  16. Well it hasn't worked for 3-5 Big Ten schools. There is a distinct difference. With the exception of Rutgers and Maryland, all of the other schools started getting a ton of money at the same time. Since we've been in the Big 10 we've received just a fraction of the money the other B1G schools have which has disadvantaged us. Starting in 2017 we're going to be playing on the same level. We'll no longer be at a disadvantage, and that has to make us more competitive, if only slightly.
  17. I'm wondering what the plan is for our increased revenue. There must be one and I assume at least a few of those dollars go into the football program. Perhaps higher coaches salaries? More support staff? Assuming some of those extra do go into the football program, I can't help but think it helps us be more competitive, if only slightly.
  18. Anyone know the story or explanation for Keyshawn deleting his Twitter account?
  19. Click bait? On a message board for no reason? Seriously?
  20. Well, it does matter if you're trying to decide how good or bad a team is, but I agree it doesn't matter in looking at the actual on field results. And you're probably the only sports fan in history to say luck doesn't exist. No reasonable person can watch the end of the MSU vs Micgian 2015 game or the end of the Nebraska vs Missouri game in 1997 and not acknowledge that luck played a part in the result of the game. Anyway, no point in discussing this further with you if you refuse to acknowledge that random factors (or luck) play a part in the results of games or that on field results don't always tell the whole story of how good or bad a team might be. That's a rather narrow view of sports that I doubt is shared by more than a trivial minority of sports fans.
