  1. NU 23 USC 21 Late field goal at home gives NU the edge.
  2. I'd also like to point out that Keller is probably better for having played and lost to USC before.
  3. The players don't adjust those measurements AFAIK. I'm pretty sure it's the recruiting service staff that makes those adjustments.
  4. I was surprised at how physical Lawson was in the spring game. He's my pick as biggest surprise on offense this season.
  5. Actually, I think it will be Culbert. Maybe by B12 play Castille will be more of a factor. I expect either Mendoza or Castille to redshirt though.
  6. I am absolutely rooting for Grixby to have a stellar season. As a Husker fan, how could you not? I'm also rooting for Bowman, Jones, Asante, <insert entire roster> to have stellar seasons.
  7. By my count we only lose 3 WR's, Purify, Nunn, and Hardy. Am I missing someone?
  8. I can only imagine the fan meltdown if that became: CB - Grixby FS - Larry Asante SS - Tierre Green/Bryan Wilson CB - THENARSE!
  9. Resoundingly YES! Again, its not that Bowman is the best we've got (injury prone), its that Grixby is the worst we have got. (As far as potential starters anyway) I still contend Jones was a worse cover corner than Grixby. Especially when you consider that Grixby (not Jones) was matched against the other team's best WR. Let's face it, the entire D sucked against the pass last year. As to whether Grixby would have been starting by the USC game, remember that Jones replaced Bowman and that Grix was always the starter. Yeah if you would have read my initial post, the question was would Grixby have been replaced by the USC game by Jones if Bowman wasn't injured... I did read your post - and maybe I wasn't clear, but IMO it would have been Grix and Bowman for the USC game last year. I really think it'll be Grix and whoever this year. The question is whether Bowman (or another CB) will be ready to replace Jones.

  11. Are you kidding? Grixby could fit in Bowmans pocket! Not to mention most of the X recievers in the Big 12! There are some mismatches that can swing a game, this is one of them. I agree with huskerguy, Bowman may help but he's not the savior of the D. I think this is another case of the guy on the bench is better. Octo had 1 good quarter in 2005 and everyone (including me) thought he'd come out and light the world on fire in 2006, but he barely played. I think the Bowman situation is similar since he only had one really good game (Michigan) and he's coming back from a season-ending injury. Plus he had what amounts to another season ending injury in spring ball. If you're really just saying that Grixby sucks, then Murillo, Jones, West, Thenarse, etc. should take over for him. Right?
  12. TE TD's in B12 play: KSU - Mueller and Teaf had 1 a piece Mizzou - Teaf had 1 OU - Teaf had 1 So 4 of the 10 TD's by the TE's came during B12 play.
  13. He already is; check out the Jonas Gray thread for details.
  14. RECEIVING GP-GS No. Yds Avg TD Long Avg/G Phillips, J.B. 14-12 13 82 6.3 2 10 5.9 Herian, Matt 14-12 12 150 12.5 2 36 10.7 Teafatiller, Hunter 14-2 5 78 15.6 4 29 5.6 Mueller, Josh 13-2 5 26 5.2 2 8 2.0 2006 stats 10 receiving TD's for our TE's looks decent, but the rest of the stats are pretty sad.
  15. Wistrom was from Missouri. We recently got Chris Patrick out of Michigan. He was projected as a DE out of HS, and I'm not sure how highly rated he was.
  16. IMO he'll end up at USC. I'd put Miami second and the Sooners third.
  17. Spring enrollee JUCO's can sign in mid-December. I believe the date is Dec. 15th.
  18. Unfortunately, defections are part of recruiting. I'm sure we'll have a few jump ship, almost every school does. With Rippy and Whitmore continuing to take visits, they're my mostly likely decommits right now.
  19. Anyone know his eligibility or if he'll be available for spring ball?
  20. For qualifying they use a sliding scale based on GPA and ACT/SAT score. They don't go by the 16 he got but use the total of the four sections of the test. To be a Division 1 qualifier with a GPA of 2.5 or above the total has to be a minimum of 68. Yet as a partial qualifier with a GPA of 2.75 or above (he's 2.82) the sum of the scores only has to be 59 which is feasible with the 16. I believe the Big XII only allows one partial qualifier per recruiting class. There are no partial qualifiers anymore. That went away with the formation of the B12. The test score is on some sort of sliding scale using the parts of tests (can be different ones), but I have no idea how that works or what the numbers are.
  21. I expect we'll begin hearing reports he's ready to get on the field in the week leading up to the WF game. Then the fans will complain while he's not on the field through the next 3-4 games. Then he'll start making limited appearances and the fans will complain that he's not seeing more time on the field. At the end of the season the fans will blame any secondary issues on Grixby and that the coaches didn't get Bowman on the field enough. How well Bowman plays is irrelevant in this scenario. But seriously, I agree that Bowman isn't the superstar some have made him out to be. And coming back from both knees being injured and not seeing the field for over a year means his recovery is that much harder. However, I think he's better CB than Grixby or Jones. In the end he'll see significant minutes by mid-season and he'll be ok but not super.
  22. If you had said that he's the least hyped or most under-the-radar, that would be more accurate. As far as impact, none of the recruits have had an impact, really. In fact, most of the 07 recruits have yet to step on campus and therefore have had no impact. You're saying "he is easily the lowest-impact guy" which is a prediction that the guy will have little to no impact in the future as compared to the other recruits. So either you meant something other than how I have interpreted "impact", or I strongly disagree with your assessment that this early stage in the game.
