  1. yeah...a little too unkempt for me...
  2. i think it's time for beachbuffs to go. he has no perspective, offers nothing but flames, constantly brings himself up in his own posts, defends his postition when his postition isn't the subject, doesn't give an oppositions enlightened point of view, and generally is negative. at leat Jhawk, and tarheeltrojan, and trumanBD give decent perspective on our team from an opposing view and occasionally start posts about football subjects in general, talk about players say some things positive once in awhile... i'm not writing this cuz i just don't agree with b.buffs or don't like other teams fans on here, i do like other teams fans when they offer up contructive conversation...but he does nothing but encite
  3. Callahan should have fired Coz...it would have saved maybe his job, and a million head aches, and a billion posts on this board i cannot for the life of me understand why he didn't fire Cosgrove??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  4. i agree to a point...definetly someone who can see an open space and get a crucial third down conversion here and there or escape ceertain trouble and make something positive. but i really really don't want a guy who is in any way not a 'thrower' or 'pocket guy first' QB. i just think a great athelete in a passing system is not as effective in the LONG run as a guy who wants to pass first, then if only to create or escape can run if he has too. now, if we run a true 'multi threat' offense who doesn't rely on great effiency numbers, then a more agile QB, i don't mind. Dixon and White, I wouldn't count on them to complete 5, 6, 9 passes in a row when we really need it. maybe the plays with their feet make up for it, but i like a composed strong QB when it really counts.
  5. this all stinks real bad...i mean FOUL odor. the worst part is, these families will move on and live somewhere else, and when anyone asks them how there experience was in Nebraska they'll say that we're hicks who have too much time on our hands, that we're rude and have no boundaries on fellow humans... I can't stand what these few douche bags have done to our program, and they don't even feel the hurt of our fans as we lose in such humiliating fashion. i can't wait for them to be fired... but these kids have seen a bad side of society and will have less trust of people, especially since we are supposed to be nice and friendly state who CARES about our team and coaches and players and school. imagine what they think of the 'bad' people in the world now?

  11. WE WILL RETURN It's only A Brief Collapse
  12. yeah, he picked a guy...the last guy we associate with ANY type of Glory days.....i tell you this, Frank's days were numbered for sure, but 59 wins in 6 years STILL doesn't equal 76
  13. just a little bright spot....all these posts have started to feed a fire deep within the recesses of my soul!! the negativety--the coz bashing--the 1183 ways we wish billy c would step aside... i just thought of this. and i think it has to do with the fact i'm in Sweden right now and it's DAMN cold.... when all of this washes away and these Brutus' are gone----we are going to get a coach hired by none other than Tom Osborne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, in about mid March----we're going to have a new Spring Game with new philosophy's and a brand new aggressive approach. It will be like a nice toasty fire on a freezing Stockholm winter day!! Here's to a new start. Just in time for Spring Ball!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. this is proof that this sh#t is serious---my mom never missed on of my dad's games while he played. she is FROM colorado and they were married in college. at a CU game, listen deaf buffalo, they used to serve alcohol inside the stadium and during a usual Husker rout, a student threw a glass beer bottle and hit a cop pulling CROWD CONTROL right in the head about 4 feet in front of my mom. the cop was paralyzed(he was knocked unconscience and fell about 3 feet on his neck) and had to be rushed to the emergency room. my mom went and visited him about 3 days later and he was injured from the waist down. you guys hurt even your own people!! and this sh#t happened in 1970's......the next year in Lincoln 6 buffs fans were arrested in the visitors section for throwing frozen oranges on the field, hitting a Buffs cheerleader in the eye....etc.. etc...
  15. Nope!! do NOT fire Callahan. If an 1813 pioneer of the sandhills can have the foreskin to make it work in Chadron, then Osborne can wait it out with Callahan. I say.....if Callahan and Coz won't do the DECENT thing and resign....then let them fail miserably!!!!!!!!! for the next 10 years at least they will be answering questions about this debacle!!! btw--i hope, despite piss poor coaching that we win the next 2 games.
  16. yeah!!! the coaches did't wake up inept...THEY WERE BORN THAT WAY
  17. my dad told me in 83 that Purple Uni's are the ugliest thing on earth...and that proves it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! still mangino on the back of the donkey cart takes all the cake (pun intended)
  18. big pic of Tom with a 'floating halo' above it
  19. that's kind of what i started a topic about a couple days ago: that a lot more damage has been done to the psyche of the players in and to the program itself. are we seeing a culture shift? i know it sounds crazy after just 4 years of an 'outsider', but even Jason Peter is damn near speechless that we got OBLITERATED by friggin KANSAS. but like i said, even some more loses can't dampen the true spirit of the fans. i think we will recognize that we are doing things a certain way and that it is the Action.
  20. yep, there is no other way around it. it's in our CULTURE to have a great football team. that's why, at the end of the day, Callahan didn't fit in. Culture of Unity and Team and Selflessness. He may have preached it, but he just doesn't get it when it comes to the Heart of Nebraska. that's why i sleep better with Tom and everyone coming back. my gut is telling me everything will be fine, come Wins or Loses.
  21. when my dad was coaching at Nebraska in the mid 80's I remember watching the Skers destroy KU and K-State in back to back weekends something like 129-10. I mean, not even close. I was probably about 7 years old. I asked my dad, "Dad, how come we beat those teams so bad? Do we have to score that many points? How come they keep playing us every year if they have no chance? Will they ever get a chance to beat us?" And my dad responded, "Son, we beat those teams so bad cuz they have no tradition and have a losing atmosphere that permeates the whole program. See all these pictures up of all these great players? It's a winning tradition with a winners mentality here. The guys on our team know it's a priviledge to play for Nebraska. It perpetuates itself. We score that many points on them because they can't stop us. Even when we put in our back-ups back-ups, we are still better than them. Plus, they give up. They half to play us every year because they are in our conference. Just like Oklahoma and Iowa State. Well, I don't think they'll ever beat us in your lifetime, at least...I mean, we half to play the games so anything could happen, but our cultures are polar opposites and unless they gets coaches and funding from the Administration, which they haven't for 20 years, then no. They probably won't ever beat us. Plus, purple uniforms are about the ugliest thing on Earth." That seriously, is almost word for word what he said. Little did I know, that about 5 years later we would move to Kansas and all it's 'culture of losing.' We saw it first hand when it came to the football teams. Sure Danny Manning had a little success here and there, but football is what matters and their fans had ZERO hope. My friends parents who were KU and KSU alums hated having me around because I just couldn't believe (out loud, in respectful, yet amazement) that some of them actually cheered for their team. Fast forward to today and realize where a guy like Peter is coming from. Never in our wildest imagination could KU or Kstate or ISU or OSU do the things they've been doing to us. We were at the '05 game and my dad met with some former teammates of his as we were walking out and they said, "Wow!! We may not have beat OU every year but we NEVER lost to Kansas." And then it hit me....NEVER in my life had I seen Missouri, Kansas, K-state, or OSU beat Nebraska until the last 5 or 6 years. Yes, teams can improve and get good coaches (Snyder), their administrations can fix things up (KU's stadium and facilities upgrades)--but never in Jason Peter's mind or that of mine, growing up in a Culture of Dominance over those teams as a 7 year old, can fathom the nightmare that has unfolded this season. I know, as well as most of you surely do, exactly what he means when he says he Just Can't Imagine How Kansas Did This To Us...It's as if a piece of a secret that we had always held over them is finally revealed and they get to see the ONE THING we as Nebraskan's hold dear. Just like 62-36 and 70-10, now add 76-36. The secret is out and our Pride is shaken. But the Key Maker has a new mold. Sure, we may have actual rivalries on our hands for awhile, but we will suffer no more when we start to do things that we as Cornhusker fans know, deep in our gut--that feeling--that at least we're doing it our way. Go Big Red.
  22. thank you. maybe if we all get good every year, the B12 North will get attention and respect.
  23. yep. and i could write this 148 ways. it is all right, because everything Callahan and Co. have done is wrong. and to think, i supported this guy (except i did think Coz needed to go after 70-10 TT). I actually believed we would, could, should contend this year. WOW.
