I dunno if 11 PBU's in the final 2 games of 05 is average, but he does have a lot of rust to shake off. He certainly did play much better in those last 2 games, but can he return to that form after 2 major knee injuries? Can he return to that form after 2 knee surgeries is yet to be seen. Instead of forming your opinion of how he is going to be before he even plays a snap this season, why don't you wait until you see him play before you start saying that you wouldn't expect much from him this year! He has made a great recovery so far. He wasn't expected to be back until mid season. I think that alone goes to show you the guy has great motivation and work ethic! Wait and see. I think he will suprise you! He may not even play but a few snaps per game until Mizzou. Like I said, if the season is halfway over before he contributes I wouldn't expect much. So basically, look at everything you post...then believe the complete opposite. I get it. In the World Herald today, he said that he "wasn't even thinking about Nevada or Wake." Like I said before.........Mike f'ing Rozier! For every Mike Rozier there are many Brian Knuckles,' Kenny Wilson's, and Justin Tomerline's. It is all a crapshoot.

It was purely on his raw ability. Remember both Bruce Pickens and Michael Booker were high first round draft picks at CB.

It's a good story, but I don't think he will be that big of a deal. He was average when healthy, hasn't played in almost 2 years, and has 2 messed up knees. He's not 100% I certainly wouldn't count on much from Bowman this year.

I did hear that some crazy stuff was going on in Manhattan. As much as we like to diss KSUcks and defend our own coaches, if Prince was the one that he was referring to I assume he would have mentioned him by name. And we have had alot of players transfer/washout since Callahan was hired.

He has yet to live up to the 5* hype and that is why recruiting can be so over-rated. You can't measure a guy's heart or mental toughness. From what I have heard about Marlon he is not that tough mentally. He has yet to produce like his classmates J Stewart and McFadden, and was generally not reguarded as one of the top 25 backs in the country going into this year.

Which "certain coach" are you referring to? A coach has to have a good relationship with his players and I don't remember very many players saying that they hated Osborne, or that he broke them down during the week. I think he was a pretty decent coach.

We don't have the elite speed that USC has, because we haven't recruited it. I watched some of the games from the 95 season recently, and there is only 1 guy on this year's defense that would break the 2 deep of that team and that would be a healthy Bowman (only because we had 3 good, healthy CB's that year). Suh, Dillard, and Turner would have been 3rd teamers, and there is no where near the speed on this defense that we had then.

If last year's game plan is any indication, then we are in for a long day.

Majority?? Where is this majority?? I expect fans of other teams to say things like this. Where is the majority of OUR fans that think this way? You think that you and your clever work buddy(that makes you giggle) are the majority? Maybe before they get crazy with all these gimmick defenses they should concentrate on the base defense and getting it back into the top 40 in college football.

I didn't find it particularly funny because it was true and on the mark for the most part. Like I have been saying (and alot of you have been telling me I am nuts) the majority of people outside of Nebraska and our fans think this way about the program. On a side note, a Husker fan I work with referred to Callahan as "Callacan't." Made me giggle.

Apparently the guy has never heard of a nickle or a dime defense. That is what got us killed by Mizzou a couple of years ago. He put his slow linebackers on recievers and we got scorched. I agree with Bern-wah.

May is a dumbass, but I have pointed out a couple of times that this is the image of Nebraska nationally. Most people have laughed at what we have done in the past 4 years. Someone called me out for posting links to people saying this type of stuff. 1. I'm not going to search the internet for podcast of TV and radio shows. Anyone can listen on their own time just like I do. 2. I don't have to you guys do it for me. About every other day there is post on this board about some media member saying something similar to this, followed up by about 50 posts by Husker fans calling the guy an idiot and an asshat. Time will tell who is right.

Not really a suprise, the rest of these teams are mid-majors at best. It is an insult to us that we are put in a poll that includes these teams.

Not that this thread needs to continue but some of the credit you give Callahan for his importance to Oakland can be given to Solich and shows his impact on keeping us a top program for 25 years. Did Solich not recruit alot of good players to NU? According to Osborne if it were not for Frank we may never have had Rozier along with many others. Solich did spend about 20 years as a very successful assistant, was Osborne's eye in the both. If you listened to the two of them talk on headsets during games (there is a DVD/tape of the 98 Orange Bowl with them talking strategy) Frank had alot to do with playcalling. I would dare to say that Solich was as crucial to NU's success during that time and that is why Tom wanted to name Frank as his successor. If you want to compare the coaching ability of Gruden to Callahan just look at that Super Bowl that they coached against each other. I don't know how much Gruden let Callahan do at Oakland while he was head coach but when they went face to face, Gruden was 3 steps ahead of Callahan the entire time.

I could care less about you but I have read many posts that instead of debating my view (or others who don't pump sunshine 24/7) we are subject to this childish name calling by many different memebers. When I saw that "Huskerboard" supposedly "Welcomes all opinions" I took that literally. If you are looking for positive feedback only you should be happy that all but a handful of people on this board to give that to you. You must be reading different articles and listening to different radio and TV show then I do. If you would not read the Omaha World Herald or Lincoln Journal Star, not watch Channel 6 news, and not listen to KFAB, you would hear many differing viewpoints on the Huskers.

No, but Gruden built that team, just like some people on here said that our 99 team was "Osborne's best team that he never coached not to win a championship."
