  1. I would follow TO blindly into the depths of a burning inferno.
  2. I have a feeling that NU is going to come out swinging Saturday . I think some of the young guys will get a shot and Keller will realize that he is blowing his shot at being drafted on the 1st day of the NFL draft. Keller will provide a spark that gets us going.... Or maybe they will just put Patrick Witt in there and start the Witt Era early. Either way we will win!!!! Atleast there are a few NU fans who are still optimistic. Unfortunately i am not one of them
  3. Just because you run the option doesn't mean you have to run it every play. The idea of a power running game is to use power AND speed to wear down your opponent. I still haven't seen a single good argument against the option/power running game. The "too fast" thing is just ridiculous in my opinion. X I dont agree that defenses are to fast for the option. It has nothing to do with it. As long as your guys are blocking properly and your QB can learn when to and when not to pitch, you should be able to run it on everyone. The best is when it gets going and the defense sells to the option run and then we run the option pass, thats when it is all over my friend.
  4. How bad is that. aTm and NU are two of the worst teams in the Big 12. I really thought after last year both of these teams would begin to rise to the top. Unbeleavable both of these programs have fallen so far so fast.
  5. I'm sure it wont be funny to us, but he is usually fair in his assesments IMHO. I think he is going to talk about it this segment.
  6. EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I HEARD HIM SAY THAT!!!!! Thought maybe I was the only one who caught it. EXCELLENT QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!! I must have read that the wrong way...I took it to mean Pederson did things in Aug/Sept that were really sketchy. Actually he alluded that it all started back in July. THAT is what makes me question why he approve Pud and Cally getting an extension. I too heard and caught that, and a reporter asked Pearlman that question. His answer was that there were several people who had problems with Pederson stemming from July but were too afraid to speak up/out until the football team was bombshelling also when the main fund raiser guy left along with several other very qualified staff members left without Pederson trying to retain them left a very ugly mark on the program All this garbage about Perlman saying the decision to fire Pud was made last week before the game and that there were issues back in July is a bunch of cover up talk. There is no way Pud extension would have gone through if there was a possibility of having to fire the a*hole. The decision to fire Pud came at 2:30 10/13/07. When that game ended and the boosters were pissed Perlman had to do something immediatly.
  7. I agree with you. There was never an implication that the Coach would be fired as soon as an AD was named. Perlman was simply stating its not his job to hire/fire the coach.
  8. Same way Solich went 10-3 and we fired him. Granted there were underlying issues but it could still happen. However, i dont think we have to worry about finishing the rest of the season 4-1. I think 1-4 at best.
  9. Hey, atleast if we switch to a spread offense maybe the defense will learn to defend it. I'm fairly certain our defense only practices agianst the WCO in practice because when they get on the field with anything other than that they look as if it is an alien life form.
  10. IMO, the first thing NU needs to do is sit Sam Keller down. He's been intercepted in every game he's played this year - 11 in all - and seems to have no fire in him at all and no leadership ability. Give Ganz a chance. And keep those freshman running backs in too. If Callahan goes with the SOP, you'll see another loss. I must be slow today, but what is "SOP"?
  11. It would be fun, however it wont be Gabbert running any sort of option or anything that involves him being mobile. If we change the offense he walks away. But that is fine with me because we have Zac Lee, dude is a speedster. have you seen the videos of Blaine Gabbert running the football. that kid has some wheels. and if i am not mistaken his 40 time at the NU camp was in the Scott Frost range and he is 4 inches taller than Scott was. I realize he can move, but i think if we change the offense he walks away. He wants a pro style offense that can get him to the next level. That is the only reason he chose us over many other schools.
  12. what does that have to do with the topic at hand???
  13. It would be fun, however it wont be Gabbert running any sort of option or anything that involves him being mobile. If we change the offense he walks away. But that is fine with me because we have Zac Lee, dude is a speedster.
  14. With all that has happened the last few days, is there anyway our players will be focused enough to even play? Not that it would really matter because they havent looked ready to play all year. I just foresee them not getting much done as far as film study and practice this week. I am hoping maybe the distraction will keep them from over thinking the game and they will just play, but i have a feeling that is just wishful thinking. NU 13 aTm 42
  15. Is it possible for Cally to survive the firing of the AD, can any coach survive it? What if Pud was somehow resricting callahan and making him feel uncomfortable and unable to do his job properly? I am not being a Callahan apologist and i dont think there is anything he can do from here till the end of the season to win us back, but could it be possible for the new AD to give Cally a second chance? I am just worried the school will leave Callahan in place because of the buyout factor. They just shelled out 2.2 for Pud, so will they leave Callahan alone to conserve the cash. Just some food for thought.
  16. If chuck norris is the coach we wont even have to take the field. He will just stare down the opposing team untill they pee themselves and forfeit.
  17. Defense wins championships. Championship teams all have one thing in common, a stingy defense. Anyone can coach offense, its not always neccessary to score 100 pts, but it is necessary to stop the other team. All you have to do is look at the 2007 NU team. We need defense, and the offense will come.
  18. AD = The original T.O. HC = Norm Chow DC = Dan McCarney OC = Myself D Line = Grant Wistrom O Line = John Madden
  19. Thank god, finally someone with some sanity. I also have wondered about this obsessive hard-on everyone has for Mac. I went to ISU and it was miserable to watch him coach a game. He was way to predictable and was an apologist with no fire. The only reason people have a hard-on for this guy is the instant success he is having at USF. Everyone needs to wake up and realize they guy walked into a perfect position. I would say 80% of his success has to do with the type of athletes that are there, not his actual coaching ability. Lay this egg to rest. Maybe we could get Gene Chizik as our DC, afterall he has his own coin.
  20. They don't recruit well during a pointless war? I have nothing against the option. I love the option. Nebraska will never see it on a regular basis ever again. Time to move on... ...to what, I'm not quite sure. Army and Navy did quite well recruiting when the draft was in effect........If only NU could figure out a way to use that to our advantage and force all eligible men over 18 to come here......Nevermind Cally still wouldnt develope the players.
  21. I agree that no one should be trying to reach the players to rip them. Leave them alone. You are right on when it comes to developing future leaders. This is the first year we are under all of Cally's players, and what a coincedence we see no fire. After last years seniors left so did the heart of this team. Now we are simply dealing with robots who have no heart. Nothing worse than watching a team with no heart. I dont mind our team being heartless, in the aspect they show no mercy, but they look as if they just dont care anymore.
  22. right on x, the kid was way over hyped, line or no line, he doesn't have what it takes to go to the next level. doesn't even know why the rock is out by the door......funny sh#t. When we were told about Lucky and Glenn being the next great thing, We were actually being pissed on and told it was raining. Glenn has serious durability issues, and if he could manage to stay healthy for more than 3 plays he would be a mediocre threat at best. Lucky is worse than Glenn in my opinion, he can't pound the rock. He has the worst field vission of anyone i have ever seen. I would bet Lou Holtz could see the cutback lanes better than Lucky. Lucky is nothing more than a straight ahead runner who will only juke if someone isnt in his way. When he gets tripped up within 3 yds of the line of scrimmage, about 80% of the time there is a cutback lane he doesnt see. He gets fustrated and just runs up Slausens rearend. If he wants to know how to pound the rock, watch highlights of the Macovicka brothers. I hate to be the hater but that is just my opinion.
  23. "The Nebraska Cornhusker's football practice was delayed nearly 2 hours after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Callahan immediately suspended practice while Lincoln police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again." ) While that is funny, we have managed to score points from time to time. It might have been better if it were a missing person's report... the defense was watching some coach's young daughter (or a player's little sister, whatever) and she just ran away. "We tried to stop her, but she just slipped past Suh. Ruud reached out for her but she managed to slip out of his hands... I don't know, man." Cosgrove praised his players saying, "They never quit... they're still trying to stop her." Classic Missery fan. That joke is old hat. I have heard that joke for about 5 or 6 years now. You just have to replace the team name, coach and city. Get some new material you classless bums.
  24. Insert NU into that at large spot only if they lose the Big XII championship game. Have faith fellas it could still happen. Yeah, and so "could" TX, KSU, Mizzou, KU, CU and T Tech. It would talk a drastic miracle to be an at large team. And with 2 losses, which means no top notch wins, then I seriously doubt it. It would only work if A LOT of other teams lost 2 or more games. Well what if we don't lose anymore games. You can't tell me right now that any game is a for sure loss. Look at how this season has gone. KSUcks come to our place and they won't beat us there. We go to an overrated KU team that I really don't think is as good as some people think. Look at what KSUcks did to Texas at their house I definately know we can do that! aTm comes to our house and is a team on the downfall. sCUm got lucky! We also get OSU at our house and I don't think they will beat us there. JMO I know you have yours I just think we really can get this done. I like your enthusiasm, we need more of it. Everyone says we could lose everyone of the rest of our games.....well we could win them just as easily. What happens if everyone starts clicking and we get this machine rolling, we could see something special. Just have to wait and see it play out.
