  1. If only Les Miles had been coaching Texas in the Big XII Championship- that last second would've been gone...
  2. Anyone else see this? Big Ten network had a national titles graphic- for Nebraska they had 4*. * Won 1997 coaches title. They giving it the Michigan? Not a big deal, just amusing.
  3. If you take out the 56-yd TD Colorado scored on the last play of that game the Blackshirts held opponents to 9.93 ppg points last year.
  4. Dang looked to see if another thread covered it but didn't see it buried in that other one.
  5. Could just be this source though, which is being downplayed elsewhere. http://mgoblog.com/content/unverified-voracity-will-re-report-anything
  6. Noon SportsCenter reporting under breaking news that the Big X has extended offers to Nebraska, Missouri, ND, and Rutgers. Can't find anything else online yet. Anyone else see this?
  7. 1. You must bleed red. Assuming you are human you should already have this covered.
  8. Knee injury during spring practice knocked him out for the year.
  9. At the very least the Big XII championship gives us a lot of attention- just turned on ESPN and they were analyzing the game (even though no one gives us a chance)
  10. Seems like Pelini possesses several qualities that ND might be looking for in their coaching search: 1. He's Catholic 2. Defensive-minded coach 3. Ties to the Midwest (Cardinal Mooney High School and Ohio State) 4. Steady demeanor while under the microscope (as seen during his time here at Nebraska- a coach's ability to handle scrutiny is very important at ND) 5. Ability to turn a program around quickly i.e. strong leadership He's probably not being mentioned because of his short time as a head coach. Not sure about his personal desire to coach there either. Just a few thoughts.
  11. Sat in the student section during the KU game (wasn't about to pay $80 for tix sorry I'm cheap)- group of people we sat with were friendly, fun to talk to. Not surprisingly they were looking forward to the basketball season. To the drunk Nebraska fans who sat in front of us in the second half- don't go into another team's student section and act like idiots. Was embarassing to see.
  12. This might have been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything with a search. Does anyone else think that the playbook last week was dumbed down not just because Cody Green was a freshman starter, but instead to hide the true playbook from Oklahoma? Something about the simplistic play calling in the Baylor game didn't feel right. Thinking back to when Green entered the Texas Tech game, I seem to remember him getting a chance to run more of the playbook (granted at the time there was basically nothing to lose). If Watson wanted to work with Green for two weeks on getting down plays important to his gameplan against the Sooners, couldn't he have just used the week before the Baylor game to prepare for the Sooners and just used a vanilla playbook against Baylor, knowing that the game would be a win, albeit an ugly one?
  13. See ACC Atlantic division- terrible
  14. As Pelini left the field after his interview at the end of the first half there was loud booing in the background, causing him to turn around and look? Was this directed at the team or the refs? My brother who's at the game said it was towards the refs, but it would be extremely disappointing if it was directed at the team.
  15. I watched some of the Floriday/LSU game tonight- their defenses are much faster than any in the Big XII. Pretty unbelievable to watch.
  16. Although our special teams were terrible on Thursday I don't think it was the players, mostly the calls. When we punted, Henery had to get the ball away very quickly- he had one go for a safety and one nearly blocked when he took a hard hit. I was confused on our calls when we were receiving- we never went with pressure, instead sending guys back to block. This gave the Mizzou punter plenty of time, which meant that his rugby style punts had a good chance of hitting our players since they were far down the field by the time the kick got off. Also, its hard to judge special teams after seeing them in sloppy game conditions like those on Thursday night.
  17. Was just watching Sportscenter when they aired their commercial for the game on Thursday. Not only do you get a nationally televised game when no other games are on, but you get commercials all week.
  18. http://www.huskerlocker.com/videos/view/t/...aill_highlights Check out the highlight vid- 3-balla!!!
  19. Terrible article- gives way too much credence to anything that Donahoe and Jordan said. Who do you trust, Osborne and Manning, or the stories of two disgruntled ex-students who were removed for violations. This part of the article was really terrible: "If Tom Osborne knew of all the NCAA violations that the wrestling coaches had broken, he'd probably fire the Nebraska coaching staff," Donahoe said at the time. "I know of probably five different NCAA violations they've broken." Then near the end: When "Outside the Lines" followed up with Donahoe in May on the contention about NCAA violations he made so emphatically seven weeks earlier, he appeared to have developed a bout of amnesia, saying as he smiled and laughed, "I said that? I must have been on drugs or something. I don't remember that. I must have been doing some kind of drugs." Obviously there's no reason to believe anything Donahoe or Jordan said.
