  1. Todd McShay(I know, I know...what does he know?) had Prince on his top 5 overall Big Board rankings. This was a few weeks ago.
  2. The thing is, it's not like Texas is getting 2star backs. What was Tre Newton when he came out? I know he looked like a man among boys at Southlake Carroll. Even against Austin Westlake in state championship, he just looked beastly. I would've thought that he would be dominating by now. So..you're a 4 or 5 star recruit, and texas has several of those caliber players that can't seem to get the job done. I would be asking myself "Ze deal? Texas has talent all over the field, O-Line 4 and 5 star guys, RBs 4 and 5 star guys, yet they still can't run. Even with a 5 star QB that is supposed to be keeping defenses honest with his arm and 4 and 5 star receivers, Texas can't run the ball. Even after Mack says Texas is committing to the run, they can't. Not on Rice, not on Wyoming, not on previously defensless TTech. So.. Ze deal? do I want to go somewhere, get coddled and not develop?" "Now Nebraska is committed to the run, and is successful at it. Hell, they just had 3 guys get 100 in a game. I will get an opportunity there. I will be appreciated there. I will have to work hard, but I'm not intimidated, I know Bo will play the best players, so I have a decent shot to play a lot." No Brainer if you ask me.
  3. This is the player who took over after Tray got hurt. I believe there was some controvery a couple years ago when Tray had a hard time getting back on the field after Tevin was doing so well. Euless Trinity is a powerhouse. They play top level competition. If he looked slow on tape, it was because the people chasing him are FastAsHell also.
  4. Actually, the long pass is one of the easier throws to make if you have the arm strength. It's the quick, shallow slants and medium hook routes that require precise timing to work. Both QB and receiver need to know what the other is doing on those because timing routes depend on the QB anticipating where the receiver will be at a certain time and the receiver knowing where the ball will be when he looks for it. The deep ball is more leading the receiver. Chuck it up there and the receiver runs under it. With our running prowess, this should be a no brainer. There will be plenty of opportunities to chuck it deep, so it would be nice to be able to take advantage of too many defenders in the box. I like our chances with either Niles or Brandon one on one deep. Taylor missed some open receivers badly. Threw it into the ground about 7yds in front of his intended target. He did fit it into some tight spots, too. On time, on the money with good velocity. The TD to McNeil was a good catch as the ball was a little high and behind him. He does have an awkward, forced throwing motion. Does not have a particularly quick release and he seems to really get his whole body into the throw. It doesn't look natural for him. I think he will be fine(possible understatement of the year) in college, but Carson Palmer is not worried about Taylor taking his job in a few years. I think Watson is doing a great job. So far. His scheme is getting guys open in space and letting them make plays. As far as complaints, well...the linejudge needs lasik. ABC going to a "better game" was vey disappointing. That's about it.
  5. weather forecasters are all the same. Not enough face time on regular newscast, so they make up for it during "severe" weather. Same thing happens here in DFW area. It was the same in Austin. what sucks is they start repeating themselves after 30 seconds.
  6. damn, another player down. when it starts to get chippy, we need to pull the starters. It looks like they are just trying to hurt somebody, anybody in Red.
  7. Alright...it's starting to look a little dirty out there. Not cool! C'mon ref, let's just make the right call. Getting some fan props for the Big Red road contingent.
  8. oops. wrong thread. Commentators still seem OK to me.
  9. Taylor needs to sit the rest of the 4th Q. Not liking the limp. Cody needs reps and it would be good for zac to sort of try and stay sharp, just in case.
  10. I have to disagree on this. I'm watching the game and both guys are doing alright. I detect no bias towards either team. Burkhead, Taylor(I just can't go with T-Magic) Helu, Kinnie, and the defense in general getting many props.
  11. Point spreads have very little to do with what the oddsmakers think of any particular team, it's more of a guage of what bettors think. The line starts at a point that oddsmakers think will bring equal action to both sides of a given contest. If the action is weighted to one side, the line moves to entice action on the other side. Vegas does not want to have to be a "fan" of any team. They just want to watch a game and rake in some dough.
  12. I hope he does struggle...just a little. It will help his growth as a leader. I would bet that IF Taylor is struggling, it will be because UDubs defense is doing something to confuse him. Put in Cody or Zac(either will suffice) for a couple of series. They will have seen what washington is doing from the sidelines, the adjustments will have been figured out(hopefully) and then they go in and implement said adjustments. Taylor gets with his coaches, learns a little of what washington is trying to do, sees the appropriate adjustments that need to be made, gets his wits about him again, and then heads back in ready to tear it up. This has to be done early, by the way, can't wait for panic mode. I hope he can pass. It's too easy to stop a one-dimensional offense, even with 3 viable options.
  13. You won't have any issues with Husker gear in College Station. An enemy of my enemy is my friend. Aggies have respect for Huskers.
  14. NU- 41 UW- 17 NU passing=225 NU rushing=300 UW passing=200 UW rushing=100
  15. So....is Watson committing all the penalties and not completing his blocking assigments? Is he the one fumbling the football every other series? Just wondering.
  16. The game is sounding very sloppy. Do we really have over 100yds in penalties? I would like to see Cody get a few series, see if he can take control of the huddle and get everyone settled down. This effort will fail against any team that has decent talent and discipline.
  17. I thought he was a redshirt freshman.
  18. Ball Game. Missed the 2nd half, sounds like we looked pretty good, on both sides of the ball. Albeit it was WKU, but last year looked a lot rougher the first game. Looking forward to how this year unfolds. GBR!
  19. Green had 2 possesions. I thought he handed off to Helu and had a drive stall after 5 plays.
  20. Was the incomplete deep out to Niles an underthrow or a bad route? Announcers said he was open...deep. How strong does Taylor's arm look?
  21. Check this out. Animated stats are faster than Radio feed, but it's the best I've heard. Thanks, again jliehr.
  22. Sounds like Meredith is OK. Does LaVonte look as good as he sounds? Seems like they say his name 2 out of 3 plays.
