  1. Ok...here is just another topic to help time pass by before season start in Sept. What was your favorite trick play that the Huskers tried last season??? I would have to say that mine was when Taylor lifted up from center and starting walking off the feild like he was frustrated. Then they snapped the ball to Tierre Green and he ran for the first down. It even confused me!
  2. Thats really nice and all.....but lets just hope that he stays healthy and COMMITED to NU. I just don't want to get my hopes up because he still has an entire year of High School left. A lot can happen.
  3. Lawson is just a good back name. Just hearing it gives me a sense of hope, that we have another class back behind whoever is chosen @ QB.
  4. Who is this guy? This POST should be terminated on account of NON-sense! Anyone like to second that???
  5. ya, he does look good. Also, last year he was not 100% in the latter half of the season. The first few games he hit the holes hard. If he can get past the line and in the secondary, there's a chance he can break it. I think that he also proved how accurate of a passer he is last season. Did you see that chunk to Nate Swift for a TD vs. TEXAS. Not many backs can throw like that. It was like 30-40 yards wasn't it?
  6. Good questions. Although not completely healed, Glenn is running without a hitch for the first time in a while. Lucky is 100% and should get the brunt. I think Glenn can play a very big role if he can stay healthy. If not, we will see some youngsters get Lucky a breather or mop up duty. Hope that helps. Alright!!! This is music to my ears. Where did you hear this? Need I say more?
  7. I agree w/ you about injuries. But this season he will be handling most of the carries, if he can in fact stay healthy, and I really think that if he is successfull then his confidence will continue to build. He is a very important aspect in getting our running game well, up and running, if I may. He has shown great ability to break into the secondary. Also you never know if one of the backs lower on the depth chart will emerge. Jackson was third string @ the start of last season. But I have plenty of faith in our North Hollywood boy!
  8. Medical redshirt??? Hate to say it...but I'm not really expecting much out of Lucky Please do enlighten us on this assumption.
  9. Just found this on ESPN.com: Stated by - Bruce Feldman Apparently I'm not the only one who chugged down the Mizzou Kool-Aid this spring. The Big 12 media picked Mizzou to finish first in the North ahead of Nebraska. The Tigers earned 16 first-place votes, while the Huskers earned eight. "We're honored to be picked (like a booger!) to win it, and we'll definitely use that as motivation," junior quarterback Chase Daniel told Graham Watson. "We've worked really hard over the last few years to earn some respect, and now that it's coming we need to work even harder to keep it." I helped Chase out by better defining his use of the word "picked" HA HA HA!!!
  10. It looks like Kansas has some pretty high expectations this year!.... I just pulled this off ESPN: "Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins said Mangino has done what they've asked him to do thus far, but another 6-6 campaign would not cut it this year. "This is the second full class he's recruited," Perkins said. "I think the way the schedule is set up, our hopes are in that seven-eight [win] range. Am I going to be disappointed if we're less than that? Yeah." THE athletic director only expects 7 or 8 wins out of them! WHAT FAITH HE HAS!!!!!!
  11. True, in that perspective. But for them to even think they have a chance in winning the north or even being the strongest is just RETARDED! I would guess that they are drunk or high on something. They need to start winning more non-conference games and reppin the Big 12 before making bonehead remarks like that!
  12. If you have numerous computers.....vote @ each of them!
  13. come on guys....Notre Dame and CAL are beating us out right now......lets go get that Vote in!!!!!
  14. Wow....I can't believe that.....they obviously don't know who they are just throwing away. Come on Texans, Pick him UP!!!!
  15. Ok guys listen to this. I was recently veiwing a story @ Fox Sports.com on MSN. It was a story regarding Big Conference and Out of Conference games this season. Here is the link: Fox Sports Webpage Quoted: "I think the North will be overall better this season, but they do need to earn that respect. You gotta do more than pull a few random upsets to be taken seriously. Huskers beware. Iowa St and Mizzou could steal your thunder this season... Looks like my Bears will still BLEEP . I wish we were in the North..." And again: "North 1. Nebraska/Missou 2. are there other teams in this conference? South 1. Texas (beats OU beats A&M loses to Okie St.) 2. Okie St. (loses to Texas, loses to A&M, beats OU) 3. OU (loses to Texas and Okie St, beats A&M beats Tech) 4. A&M (loses to Texas, OU, wins against either Nebraska or Missou and loses against the other, beats Okie St.) 5. Tech (beats A&M and Baylor, but probably loses to all other south opponents, possibly upsets OU in Lubbock) 6. Baylor (the best North team in the South)" I can not believe what I am seeing here. How can Baylor, the worst team and embarrassment in this conference, think that they are the best North team in the South. Don't worry I did make myself known on that site! Let me hear what you guys think!
  16. One guy is not going to win the game for KU... even if he plays both ways. KU's secondary will be much improved from last year. 3 new starters opposite of Talib. be on the lookout for FS Darrel Stuckey, a Kansas City product that is expected to start from the get go. Talib says he is the best athlete on the team. The opposite cover corner is a juco kid from Butler County. He looked good in the spring game. He has good body control and is alot qicker than Webb was a year ago. KU's defense will be alot better this year. I don't see Nebraska blowin us out anytime soon. I know you Husker fans think you'll be better, but I also think KU will be better. One thing i've noticed after visiting the boards of you guys, MU, KSU and my own KU boards is that everyone is saying the same thing about their team. "This is the year we get over the hump" "This is the year we take the North". We'll just wait and see. But don't think your leaps and bounds better than KU cause basically outside of Cornish the same damn team is back that took you guys into Overtime in Lincoln. Well spoken....but you only brag that your defense is better than last season. Our TEAM as a whole is much better than last season and will continue to get better as we recruit 4 and 5 star prospects. KU is just not recognized for having strong recruiting and for that.....they will always be "alright" But I just don't see them being a threat to win the North this season....sorry for being honest! I think the KU offense will stay about the same, if not get better. One thing that has hurt KU is the Quarterback play. We can't keep them healthy. Mangino has started 8 different QB's since during 5 years at Kansas. We just can't get a break. This is the first year that we really feel that we have two capable QB's that can play in Kerry Meir and Todd Reesing. If Meir can stay healthy, look out. The guy has talent. He can hurt you with his arm and with his legs. And our leading receiver is back, Dexton Fields, 45 catch's for 456 yds. He caught 8 passes for 108 yds and a score against Nebraska.....just thought I would throw that in. Also our senior Tight End Derek Fine is back and I see him making hugs strides this season. And I love Hereford. He is a 6'3 220 pound receiver that is the second fastest on the team behind Jake Sharp. Look for Marcus Hereford to have a break out year at Wide receiver and kick returner. Our offensive line is lookin realy good as well. Leading the way is All Big 12 selection Anthony Collins. At 6'6, 330 pounds, he will be blocking for Meirs blind side at Left Tackle. The other tackle is 6'7 286 lbs Caesar Rodriguez. A four year starter and is very dependable. He is making the move from Left tackle to right. Than we add Left guard Chet Hartley, a 6'4 315 lbs, he was heavily recruited from Butler County by Bobby Bowden, but his late home visit didn't pay. We're happy to add him to our line and see it as a big upgrade. So to say the least we're excited about our offense to and we know we have gotten better. The problem is alot of fans are too busy just assuming we won't be that great, but you can't deny what Mangino is doing. I understand NU gets more 4 and 5 star recruits, but that can't always be a measuring stick. Anthony Webb was a 4 star recruit out of Texas and he started as a True Freshman for us last season on the opposite side of Talib. This year he lost his job to a 3 star guy from Butler County kendrick Harper. Stars are never the best method of how good they will be. (See Kyle Wright, QB for Miami for further reference). He was the #2 ranked QB in the country behind Chis Leak. Wright has done nothing at Miami and is about to lose his job to a 4 star QB. P.S- Aqib Talib was a 2 star recruit. Enough said. But hey, what do I know? Ok, so I stand corrected .....there are a few diamonds in the rough! But you still can't possibly think you have a chance against us with all the talent we have. Even in upcoming years! Looking @ rivals.com I see that Kansas picked up only 1 4-star recruit in DB Ryan Murphy followed by 13 3-stars. Nebraska on the other hand picked up a whopping 10 4-star recruits and 16 3-star. You will get a hint if you try to pass up the middle this year as Larry Asante loves to lay the lumber to players. Kansas will have to have 3 or 4 years of awsome recruiting to even enter the same talent bracket as Nebraska. Your team is probably rated w/ an overall C+ while Nebraska is an A- at the least. So that being said, good luck beating Baylor this year! I can't stand how USC gets 5 of the top 10 recruits every dang year though! And I know that how many stars recruits have does not always prove how good they are....they could definately poop out when they play college ball. This is also why I think we will pull of the upset when SC comes to town!

  18. Well I don't think BC will let the team focus too far ahead of each game. He will keep them focused on the game that week and that week only. Even if they need reminding. But I am sure that Wake thinks they will suprise us because we are too worried about SC. We need to prove them wrong!
  19. Now I like the sound of that! It would be even better if we went undefeated......maybe a National Title to make it 6! Come on Huskers, Lets do this!
  20. Yea, whats he gonna do when Purify brings it on his ass and out performs him......they will probably end up switching spots so he does not have to face MO! It will not be a close game this year. Nebraska will win by 21 points!
  21. Why? Its obvious that he took 2 Texas Native down with him.....just in case they got lost. Texas is a pretty big state....i know because thats where I live!
  22. I think Callahan handled himself and the questions asked better than any other coach yesterday! Great Job.
