  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they use the same audio feed for the PPV games and the radio??? Isn't it Greg Sharpe and Matt Davison?
  2. The University of Nebraska and FOX Sports Midwest have announced that Nebraska’s three non-conference home football games will be available on a pay-per-view basis on Big 12 Special Order Sports, the network’s pay-per-view division. The two parties also announced the continuation of the school’s men’s and women’s basketball television package with the network for the 2009-10 season. Nebraska’s home football games against Florida Atlantic (Sept. 5), Arkansas State (Sept. 12) and Louisiana-Lafayette (Sept. 26) will all be available on a pay-per-view basis. FSN will produce the pay-per-view telecasts and the games will be available on participating cable systems in Nebraska as well as nationally on participating satellite and telco systems. Full details regarding the telecasts will be available in the coming weeks. Game times for the three contests have also been set. The season opener against Florida Atlantic will kick off at 6 p.m. under the Memorial Stadium lights. The contest will mark the fourth time in the past six seasons Nebraska has opened the season with a home night game, and the 13th time in program history NU has opened the season under the lights. The following week Nebraska will take on Arkansas State in a 1 p.m. contest. Following a trip to Virginia Tech on Sept. 19, Nebraska returns home on Sept. 26 to face La.-Lafayette in a 6 p.m. contest. The game will be Homecoming on the UNL campus and will also mark the Huskers’ 300th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium. The three non-conference home games are being televised on a pay-per-view basis because they were not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. In addition to the three pay-per-view contests, Nebraska previously had three games selected to be telecast on ABC and ESPN. The Virginia Tech contest will be televised on ABC with a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff from Blacksburg, Va. NU’s Big 12 opener at Missouri will be an 8 p.m. kickoff on ESPN on Thursday, Oct. 8, and the regular-season finale against Colorado will be televised nationally by ABC with a 2:30 p.m. CT kick. Game times and television information for the remainder of the Huskers’ games will be announced six to 12 days in advance of kickoff. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&a...p;DB_OEM_ID=100

  8. Nebraska's game against Virginia Tech on Sept. 19 will be televised regionally on ABC at 2:30 p.m. (central), but also will be available to most of the rest of the country on ESPN2. This is the third Husker game so far that has been picked up by television. The game at Missouri will be televised by ESPN on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. And the post-Thanksgiving game at Colorado will be on ABC at 2:30 p.m. that Friday. http://journalstar.com/blog/huskers.php?ti...p;tb=1&pb=1 Thank God! VT has a ridiculous night game record, so this should help a bit...
  9. Fourth overall at running back?!? Besides OU, I can't name another team that has two proven HBs returning. Who did they rank ahead of us? Please tell me it's not OSU, or even worse CU! OSU has one of the best backs in the conference returning. Correct. OU is 1, OSU 2, Mizzou 3. OSU makes sense, but Mizzou? I guess Washington is a 1,000 yd back... but geez, Roy almost was, and he was a backup!
  10. Careful JGS30.... Don't go running your mouth again and giving me more signature material! Steele is normally the most accurate from what I've seen. http://preseason.stassen.com/prediction-ac.../2009-10yr.html We should have the best lines in the North by far, and I think that will be the difference. But you never know...

  14. Dont get too excited Saunders. I have heard some people dont think they are very credible. Ha. I wasn't getting excited, just very surprised. Preseason rankings mean jack squat. The only benefit, is that you have a better chance of staying ranked throughout the season, as long as you don't lose a bunch of games in a row. Plus, a ranked VT and NU squad will probably garner a national TV game, and maybe even gameday.
  15. WHUUUUT?????? NU comes in at #16. http://www.athlonsports.com/college-footba.../no-16-nebraska
  16. I think that is something that just about every CFB fan (minus Notre Dame nutjobs) can agree on.
  17. It's not the only factor, on that I completely agree. However, it is an important factor. I'm not meaning to single you out. If you say the replacements for your starters are better, so be it. That said, others have said that NU's line will be worse due to replacing the right side, and that the replacements can't be as good. It doesn't work both ways. P.S. nice to see you man up. Only took you half a year!
  18. Athlon sucks man. Last year, the had NU finishing in 4th place. Plus, they have Notre Dame ranked. That pretty much invalidates their entire rankings.
  19. Offensive line is in NU's favor, and it isn't even close. Here's why: And you just thought that The Wall Street Journal was good for the stock tables and stories about fiduciary accounts. The Journal has a very underrated sports section and an emerging blog. Staff writer Darren Evenson had an intriguing post a few days back that detailed how experience in the offensive line usually is a pretty good indicator of a college football team's eventual success. The study indicates that eight of the teams that finished last season in The Associated Press' final 2008 top 10 poll had at least 65 combined offensive line starts at the beginning of the season. And three of the more notable disappointments last season -- Missouri, Clemson and Georgia -- all had fewer than 40 starts. The study also broke down the offensive line starts for nearly every FBS team in the nation, including all of the Big 12 teams. Here's how teams in the conference rank heading into the 2009 season, courtesy of the The Wall Street Journal: Texas: 91 Oklahoma State: 86 Baylor: 66 Iowa State: 61 Nebraska: 61 Kansas State: 57 Missouri: 56 Texas A&M: 56 Texas Tech: 52 Colorado: 48 Oklahoma: 29 Kansas: 26 The statistics are intriguing for several reasons. Maybe Texas and Oklahoma State can fulfill their lofty preseason expectations because of veteran offensive lines. And Baylor's experience -- even after losing starting tackles Jason Smith and Dan Gay from last season -- could be a huge factor in the Bears making their first bowl appearance since 1994. The other item that strikes me is the lack of experience from Oklahoma and Kansas. The Sooners will have the least returning experience in the trenches of any team Bob Stoops has ever coached there. It will be interesting to see how that factors into their hopes of being able to claim an unprecedented four-peat of Big 12 titles. And early North contender Kansas will have the least offensive line experience among any Big 12 teams. How will that play a part in the Jayhawks' hopes of claiming their first undisputed North title? The national average is 61 games of experience, meaning only Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas are above the national benchmark. (Hat tip to the Dallas Morning News). http://myespn.go.com/blogs/big12/0-9-54/Of...rs-UT--OSU.html KU will not win the division, and will finish with a similar record to last year.
