  1. Patrick didnt get into a bar fight as he wouldn't have been in a bar seeing as he is 18. "He was ticketed for trespassing, third-degree assault by menacing threats, minor in possession by consuming and possession of a false ID."
  2. Lucky for sure. I think ganz will have a decent year but not phenomanol by any means. Yes, he put up good numbers but look at the defenses that he did it with. Big deal. IMO Lee will give him a run for his money next year.
  3. Kenny Wilson wont do much IMO. We have much better/stronger running backs in our stable.
  4. People who continuously whine about our recruiting class irritate me. Yes, we lost some recruits, yes they were 4+ star recruits. BIG DEAL. Stars don't mean sh#t. How many of Osbornes recruiting classes were full of 3,4,5 star recruits? This class will be fine.
  5. I completely agree with you on CU. We won't lose to CU. Out defense should be much improved this year and shouldnt play on a HS level like they did this year. Pelini is going to motivate the sh#t out of them and they are going to WANT to play for HIM. I see an 8 win season with definate wins over KU and CU. VT and MU should both be great games. In all reality though, We really have to wait for the spring to come so we can see how everything has developed, its too early to really tell but I do think we had a talent level high enough to compete in all our games.
  6. IF... IF Callahan made some coaching changes halfway through the year the MAYBE I would have supported him to be here again next year, but with how he put his personal friendships ahead of the best interests of the team then thats not someone I want for a Coach. Callahan was NOT a good head coach. Period. We won't lose anywhere near as many games as we did this year. GTFO of here with that bullsh#t.
  7. Well... That almost brought a tear to my eye. Good story.
  8. seems odd to me that penili has not signed a contract.....why are they dragging this out..don,t get it??? Seeing that Pelini does not have an agent, Him and TO are just working something out between them. Pelini has been out recruiting for 95% of his time so far im assuming. It's really not that big of deal.
  9. "You see that there’s kind of an air of excitement around the program again," he said. "I think you go through these tough times and you need to get uplifted. I think the whole fan base is excited. We (can) get the state excited about Nebraska football again, and build on that. Let’s go. I’m ready to go win some football games." That right there, Gets me excited for next year.
  10. IBR was right on ~50% of what he has said... And most of that coulda been guessed by 80% of people here.
  11. This reminds me of thinking of Texas back a few years ago when thinking of Major Applewhite and Simms. Simms was bigger, stronger, and his dad was a Super Bowl champ QB. However, Simms didn't have the intangibles that Applewhite did. All Applewhite ever did was win football games while Simms struggled against top tier teams. Lee is going to be a redshirt freshman isn't he? He'll still have 3 years of eligibility after next year. I think by playing him in mop up duty will give him valuable experience heading into 2009. I think the starting job is Ganz's to lose. He really is the only QB with any experience at all. He's a senior, and he's showed he can come in and move the football. If we get halfway through the season and Lee starts to really grasp the position, I'm ok with starting him. However, I highly doubt we'll see Lee starting the first or second game of the season unless Ganz is injured. Lee will be a SO next year. He was reshirted this year as a sophomore so he will come back next year and be the same. Still has 3 years of eligibility left though. Witt will have 4.

  13. Bo Pelini is a classless turd who would embarrass NU by language/actions - much more than BC ever has with his. For all his positives as a DC, he brings a lot of liabilites as a HC. A throat slash gesture and then lying about it? Calling opposing team fan's flippin hillbillies? OK, Pelini called out Snyder. Was it the right thing to do? No, but neither was BC's actions and then having the gall to lie about it even though he was caught on camera doing it. For the record, Pelini I'm sure would come back to NU. In order for this to happen, Pud would first have to be fired. Let's say TO would be named AD and asked Pelini to come take over the program. I think he'd jump at the opportunity. As long as Pud's in charge, Pelini will never step foot as a NU coach again. He hates the prick just like I do. There are a lot of coaches out there that have positive but bring liabilities. Look at Saban. He brings a lot of liabilities as well such as after having some success will he stay? Does he jump back into the NFL arena? Jimmy Johnson. Every college he's coached at has ended up on probation after he leaves. IMO, our next coach will be hired as a gamble. If BC is let go before his contract expires, I don't think we have the resources to go out and get a 2+ million dollar a year coach. We're going to have to take a chance on some young aspiring coach out there. Personally, I think we have to lose enough games this year to not make a bowl before BC has any worry about not returning next year as HC. I do think pressure will be applied and some assistants will be fired. IMO, it feels like de ja vu! TO Would NEVER consider Bo Pelini. Why? No character. No class. BC has had his indescretions - never denied that. However, I think Pelini would do much worse. Think of a bad soundbite from coaches you hear on the talk shows... Pelini probably would wind up having at least one. Oh really?
  14. You know witt will still be a freshman next year right as he redshirted this year? Ganz is a senior... Soo by my calculations he still will have 3 years to play after Ganz graduates. And between him and Lee, its a competition, thats what makes it exciting. Both players push each other to new limits.
  15. Id seriously love to know why this guy can no longer support NU becuase of Pelini? What is SO bad about Pelini? Would ANYBODY answer me that?
  16. If you read the article correctly it said the player said Pelini told them that he was taking his dream job which could be misinterpreted by Husker fans as the Husker HC job is his dream job. But in reality he probably meant t HC job at a big school is his dream job.
  17. Well, the media's job is to report the news, not to generate buzz or excitment. Most news outlets take that responsibility seriously -- a few, like Fox News, do not. Like Fox News? :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound Yeah...the major networks don't generate buzz or spin anything do they? Oh, Lord. Sorry - just made me giggle....a lot. Bottom line - we'll never know what was said in the LSU locker room for 100% sure...but who cares? Looks like he's coming. Additionally, given the fact that intentionally misquoting someone could easily result in a lawsuit, most news outlets won't do it simply for that reason. But in reality he probably meant t HC job at a big school is his dream job. So in reality, the media just put it in a way that they were correct in what he said but left it so people could interpret it differently.

Like ESPN reporting the Miles is the new head coach at Michigan. The media is out to generate buzz and excitement. Where have you been?
  19. People like you make me f'ing SICK. I imagine you were one of those kids who grew up and didn't get your way then you cried and whined until you got it? Theres NO reason why anyone should say this is a bad pick. Pelini is a PROVEN defensive coordinator, a PROVEN motivator, and a true players coach. If you stop supporting the Huskers becuase of this then I believe the fan base is better off without you. f'ing pathetic.
  20. No reason to be nervous. A lot of proven coordinators have become successful coaches... Tom Osborne and Bob Stoops are two successful people I can think of..
  21. Almost guarantee it will be on PBS but I would guess thr major local stations would carry it too.. Huskers.com will also be streaming live.
