This team is way worse than 2007. Ive kept quiet most of the year and dont care for in season firings but you can tell this team doesnt give two craps anymore. Get Riley out and lets just move on. I can't believe Im saying this, but I don't even want to watch this product anymore this season. Unbelievable.

I'm not even going to argue with that as I think he will be gone at the end of the year and that's probably whats best for the program. I don't disagree but if you think Frost is going to come in this door and recruit all Nebraska kids and then we will be back to our glory days then you are crazier than I thought. We need more pure TALENT and speed on the field. If that comes from a Nebraska kid, then great, but I'm tired of watching kids like Weber and Gifford chase after slot guys and RBs because they can't keep up and actually cover them. Both those kids have motors that won't quit and work thier ass off and I appreciate that but I'd rather have a faster/more athletic guy out there that can actually cover and make plays (And yes, part of that is on the coaches to put them in a position to succeed).

Semantics. Im not talking about guys buried on the depth chart and you know it. Both those guys see plenty of snaps every game.

Technically no, but they get rotated in enough that you can throw them in the rotation. Our Depth chart has 2 TEs spots.

Including Rahn and Reimers. 10 I believe. 50% is obviously a slight exaggeration but both starting TEs, 2 starting LBs. 2 WRs. As I said, everybody loves the walk on tradition and seeing Nebraska kids succeeding but we wonder why we can't compete with the teams like OSU? Yeah, theres some coaching issues for sure, but it's still a lack of talent. Just my unpopular .02

This day and age is different. I grew up watching the Huskers through the late 80s and 90s. I know the walk on program and the amount of Nebraska kids on those teams. College football is not the same. You cannot rely on the same principals and ways that were successful 20+ years ago and anybody who thinks you can is off thier rocker.

This thread is amusing IMO. I was at the game last Saturday and when they were going through the starting lineups all I could think was... " We have too many NE kids starting". Im all fine with the NE walk on story and what not but 50% of our starters shouldn't be Nebraska kids. You act like we cant pull talent from other regions. Are there some names that get away? Sure, but getting more Nebraska kids isn't going to save this program. Getting kids that have the talent to run the system and scheme is what will help.

Well I'm glad Debbie Downer decided to show up again. I don't understand why people think Oregon is back to being a world beater. They hung 70 points on Southern Utah, and still don't have a defense. Nebraska 42-38.

I think a lot of us will be surpised by Lee this year if our line can protect him.

Ill never understand why people get their panties in a wad about this run/pass stuff. Frankly, I don't care whether we are 90/10 or 50/50. While a balanced offense tends to be better, as long as we are moving the ball and scoring, I don't care and neither should anybody else.

I don't quite get the hate for jerseys. I'm 30, and ill still wear a jersey everytime I go to a game(or frankly every game day no matter my location)

No crow to eat here. Fyfe had a decent game against a team that couldn't get out its own way. He doesn't do that last week or next week. Sorry it is what it is. Don't you think, that just maybe, if your golden child Darlington was the second, or even third, best QB on the team, that he would be out there? Let alone still playing quarterback period? Honestly, it's probably the whole concussion concern on why Darlington hasn't seen meaningful snaps anywhere. Fyfe looked better than I figured he would on Saturday but that was against one of the worst defenses in the league. While it's a feel good story that a former walk on got to start and play on senior day, Fyfe isn't going to win us any games that we don't dominate in talent. At this point, you can't pull a redshirt from POB for one game, but I don't want to see a broken Fyfe play against Iowa. If our offense plays anything like they did in the second half of that maryland game then the Iowa defense is going to eat us alive. I'd rather see a healthy Darlington play in place of an injured Fyfe if Tommy can't go. It's truly a lose lose situation no matter what you do if Tommy is out again this week though. GBR

Shocking. Watch when NU wins everybody will downplay this win as Wiscy just isnt that good either. I'd rather NU be an underdog. Have a chip on thier shoulder with something to prove.

If you people get "pissed" at a NU loss, then you need to find another hobby. I have loved Husker football ever since I can remember and have watched every game but I've never gotten "pissed off" at a loss. Disappointed? Sure. Slight short term sadness? Sure. Pissed off? Nah. These are 18-23 year old kids that are playing football for our entertainment. It's not thier job. This might be why I avoid this board like the plague after any Husker loss.

To be fair.... None of those are dog sht stats and probably top 30% of college football. I'll take that over the crap we have had the last few years.

"Close loss" is for the "little engine that could" programs...Not for Nebraska. Back to the impact of this game. A win here really pretty much gives Nebraska the West Division Title. Agreed. A close loss just looks better on paper, especially to people who don't actually watch the game/ Also, while I said if....I do think Riley will have this team ready to play and will win this game. Except it wasn't a locker room under Bo Pelini. He was gone by then. It was up to Riley to take ownership of the team at that point and show them that they could be successful under him and his staff. He didn't show that last year, time and again. I have a list, if needed... So you're choosing to ignore the fact that Bo basically told the players on his way out that being at Nebraska sucks. Then he and or members of his staff kept in contact with players last year and furthered the divide. We're just ignoring this? Okay then. I'm definitely ignoring things that were made up, yes. Yeah, that audio recording was totally fictionalized. Not real at all. Sigh. I was a staunch Bo supporter until the end but once you take off the irrational blinders its incredibly easy to see the toxicity that Bo created in the locker room.
