Well Gabbert should be a stud and he still would have committed here I believe and this is why. If Beck started this year as a redshirt sophmore he would have been happy with that. This is the reason he said ok to Taylor. He would start for 3 years and then Gabbert would start as a redshirt soph. That is what a recruit wants. Not many QB's will ever demand to start as a frosh. Callahan would have never promised him a starting job but once his redshirt was taken away he wanted to get in there. BC should have used him more to at least get experience the rest of the year and then he could have competed fairly for the starting job. If Florida can get 2 players time so can BC but he wanted Beck to only throw 1 pass....nice!

And am I understanding this correct, I am wasting my time for expressing the faults I see in Callahan but everyone who is emailing ESPN (which is a good network to at least see games) trying to cry about Mark May. Oh, Zoogies allow me to clue you in...Harrison Beck is because of how it was handled not because he transfered. So my point is valid. Everyone was complaining when he wasted his redshirt year. And the play calling prior to the 4th down didn't make sense. You don't run on 3 and 13 if you are going to punt that late in the game. The second OU game was during Stoops worst season at OU and we were at home. We had to come back to make it close. We were smoked and not ready to play in the first half....btw the Big 12 Championship last year. The last point is Bill Callahan chokes in the big game and doesn't win them. And agianst USC he should have continue to pass the ball and done it earlier. 17 pass attempts when the passes were working? Taylor had better ratio stats than Booty. Poor execution and that is stated by EVERYONE but NU fans. That is my issue. He always executes poorly in big games. That is a FACT. Close games are losses...I am not impressed like you are.

I don't know why they didn't wait until later in the season. He is already overpaid, so hopefully it wasn't a big raise. pleasefirecallahan.com is alive and well. It will be making sure he lives up to this years expectations and the new contract.

I posted this earlier saying that I was wrong and a lot of you were right. Callahan is a great recruiter and that's all that matters. The only problem is he mishandled Beck and now he is starting for a different team. Good recruiter, bad team manager. Why does everyone slam Beck. He was mistreated and misused while he was here. Everyone raved about how great he is and then he wants to leave (for very good reasons) and everyone thinks he sucks. Well, I guess he doesn't suck that bad.

Harrison Beck led a 2nd half rally for NC St. and will now start against BC. Beck is only a sophmore! Beck completed 17 of 28 passes for 207 yards with two touchdowns on Saturday. Everyone on the board told me he was a great recruiter. They were right, although I think I was told that Beck wasn't any good anyway.

We aren't a top 11 team in the country, because we haven't proved it yet. I think 16 is fair but I wouldn't be surprised if voters only look at the final score and place us 17-18

It doesn't surprise me since it was a pretty uneventful game. We dominated them and so it left no intrigue. NU vs. Nevada would have to be a close game for anyone to notice. No compelling TV. You didn't see Arizona St. vs. San Jose St either...same reasons. It went as expected and we aren't a top 10 team so nobody outside of us really cares. We were too good, and too efficient! I will take that everytime. Oh, and I was told by previous posters that emailing and making noise doesn't matter unless you work there or are a big booster, so I guess we should stop emailing or complaining.....LOL!

Junior, I think the d-line performed well. They stopped the run and the blitzing lb's rushed the passer. That was the plan. Second, Keller knew he had a limited roll and he will give the recievers hell about the drops but I think they were just trying to establish the run this game because they needed to find out what they had with lucky and the o-line. Keller will be critical against Wake.

Taylor was a very good QB for us last year but he isn't even in the same class as Keller. Keller is a top 10 passing QB and will get a shot at the league next year. The question is will we need to rely on Keller as much as we thought? If the running game will Lucky and Castille can be solid Keller's numbers may suffer but he will be a better leader and make better decisions than Taylor. Keller's worst day=Taylor's best day.

Remember 2 things: *Don't look past Wake Forrest b/c of USC *Don't get cocky b/c we thumped Nevada at home. This is Wake on the road. The coaches will need to make sure these 2 things don't happen. We will win but the game will be too close if they fail in these areas. Either way we go into USC 2-0.

They look weaker than Nevada??? Seriously? They threw for about 400 yards and scored a lot of points even with a backup qb late in the game. They will score on us unlike Nevada. I think the game will be determined by our running game. If it's a pass all day shoot out then that means we are in for a fight. 37-27 if a shootout 28-17 if we establish the run again

Well, a big concern is they cut it nationally. You couldn't pick it up on any feed which means any bar owner across the country saw all of the Big Red fans leave 30-45 minutes earlier than they would have. For Huskers bars that live for that business it's important. They probably care.

Husker X, Again you missed my point. I didn't say they took them lightly. What I meant was they were already up 21-0 before you blinked. They didn't care about blowing out Idaho and showing their offense and getting players hurt. If you took my comment as they are a team who doesn't care and takes plays off then you are mistaken and took a huge leap. I am not sure if you watched the game at all. Did you? You thread seems a tad uninformed.

I am surprised and please with how our offense played but.... Let's give the defense some love!!! Octavian was everywhere. He looks like he will have a monster year if he keeps attacking like this. The D-line was great and active. I just think we gotta give a little more love to the defense. Although we didn't expect to run as well as we did I think a lot of you would agree that the defense was our biggest concern. We always knew we would score. We may have just thought it would be more passing.

USC looked incredibly athletic in the first quarter and they dominated Idaho with very simple play calling. A lot of off tackle runs. There team speed was incredible but they essentially did nothing in the 2nd and 4 quarter. I think it was b/c they didn't care. I doubt they will make that mistake against NU. Next week will be good for our defense to get tested. We will score on USC we just need to make sure we can stop them with our DB's and our D-line can get pressure so Booty doesn't have all day. And BTW USC doesn't normally have 2 bad performances ina row so I wouldn't even bother looking at the Idaho performance. It was a glorified scrimage.

Purify will be rediculous with Keller. I can't wait to watch the show. Keller is an incredible passer and Purify has a top notch skill set. If we had him last week it would have been silly. He will still break every single season receiving record.

When 3 receivers are dropping passes there is an issue. Yes it's the receivers fault but there concentration needs to improve. 3 receivers makes it an issue. Similar to if you have an offensive line always jumping offsides. If it is multiple people and happens often then coaching is part of it. It means they didn't have them concentrating enough in practice.

Nunn has benefited from playing in a passing offense for 3 years, similar to Taylor setting a bunch off passing records. I don't think Nunn is overrated. I think he is an underachiever. He came in with all this hype and hasn't performed to the level we had hoped. I think underachiever is better. The coaches should take some responsibility on this b/c there are a few other receivers who lack concentration so it might be an epidemic. I don't rate him very high at all.

Who would you like your successor to be?

10 wins means we win a bowl game and lose 3 games. Please explain why you feel we would have 4 or 5 losses? Our schedule has 2 top 20 teams. We are ranked higher than every other opponenet. Are you saying we are over rated? Here is our Shedule and Power Rankings of each team Nebraska-20 Nevada 50 Wake Forest 34 USC 1 Ball St 74 Iowa St 66 Missouri 26 OK St 54 Texas A&M 25 Texas 4 Kansas 55 Kansas St 58 Colorado 76 We have 2 very tough games and 2 tough tests against Missouri and A&M. If we split those and win the bowl game we are at 10 wins. The rest of the games are easy. Please tell me why we shouldn't expect to win 10?

Lucky showed us what we have waited 3 years to see and I was very impressed. The O Line made huge running lanes and also gave Keller so much time he wasn't even touched. I think the receivers will need to be more consistent. Kudos to the defensive line. I don't care that it was Nevada they played great and they were my biggest concern. I feel more confident about Wake then I did on Friday.

I don't consider Stoops a failure. He has won 11 games or more 6 out of the last 7years and went to multiple BCS games. That is what I am begging for. I don't care about Hawkins or Prince. I want Brown and Stoops results. Why does everyone keep bringing up worse programs? And Urban Meyer chose the Florida job over ND, but it was a better situation. If Florida wasn't available he would have GLADLY taken over ND. He didn't reject them, he chose a better opportunity.
