  1. That's the spirit! Penn State fans don't think their team is very good. They used the s__k word alot to describe their team! (Sorry, I hate that word) So...WE CAN STILL MAKE INDY!!! GO BIG RED. (And seriously, if you want some comic relief in the midst of all this sadness go read the 'Pointing Thumbs' thread. It is so hilarious and just keeps getting better!!
  2. You don't wanna know. Just eat it and enjoy it! They only come around during this time of year and after that they're gone. BUT! They are SOOO good!
  3. I laughed so hard when i read this I was crying! SO FUNNY!! SBD!!! (Silent but deadly) Ya just killed it for us! In fact, I think it got to our team!! THAT is what happened to our O-Line!!! They were gassed out!!
  4. I think I have that same gray shirt!!! We gotta burn those puppies! lol
  5. Haha You've sucked up all your enjoyment points for at least a decade. Pretty sure its my fault, I didn't watch the game when I very easily could've. BADGER FAN!! Shame on you!! lol
  6. AMEN!!!! BSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSB I can't stand this lockstep loyalty crap some of you seem to think means fanhood. Fanhood doesn't mean you put on blinders and can't criticize. BO LOSES TO TERRIBLE TEAMS. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. If that's acceptable to you, then I think it's you who isn't the real fan. Ok...so he does...so do a lot of teams. Can you believe that Oklahoma was beaten by Texas Tech this year and then Tech turns around and gets the crap beaten out of them by Iowa State? I'm sure folks were calling for Bob Stoops' head too, eh? But just think about it for a minute. Let's say that we fired the whole lot. What would that accomplish? Absolutely NOTHING! It takes time to build a team. We're in a new league, we have a young team. I'm sure last week you thought Bo was the best and now you're asking for his head? You can criticize but do you honestly think it changes anything? Criticizing or not criticizing doesn't define a person as a fan. I thought they played crappy tonight too but does that mean we need to fire Bo? No. All is not lost.
  7. I was reading the comments on the B1G blog after Adam Rittenburg's comments and the Penn State fans were saying how bad Penn State is! It was really funny to read their comments. I really do think we can pull this off! I guess I just believe that we CAN get to the CG. GO BIG RED!!!
  8. Ok...everyone feel better now that you've had your rants, hissy fits or whatever else you want to call it? Ok...let's move on. Wow...ugly game but hats off to Northwestern. They came ready to play-we did not plain and simple. So, as I look at our next three games-if we win them and Michigan State loses along the way, we can STILL go to the B1G Championship game. Michigan State hasn't played Iowa or Northwestern yet. They both played pretty well today. WE CAN STILL WIN THIS!!! Ok...go ahead and call me 'Susie Sunshine' or whatever-BUT it's true. Also, if you want a good laugh in the midst of all of this angst, go read the thread 'Pointing Thumbs' or something like that. It's HILARIOUS!!
  9. ROFLOL!! Thank you!! Sanity in this sea of insanity!! I wore my GREY Husker shirt because my red shirt had greasy little spots all over them! I also said that I KNEW we were going to go to the CG! I jinxed us! I'm SO sorry!! It was me!!!!! True-I forgive you because those McRibs are just too darned tough to resist!!
  10. Well said my man. Players deserve credit for the win, coaches deserve credit for losses. I know it seems weird, but I'm a true believer in it. That said, Pelini has my full confidence. These players love him and the other coaches love him. We made a lot of changes on defense this year, especially in the coaching realm, and that takes time to gel. We also have a very, very, very young offense. It's not easy to be successful against great teams or poor teams when you're young and inexperienced. I'm not that disappointed in this loss. It sucks, but I saw a lot of positives from this game today. I think Martinez played like an absolute leader. Found open receivers, made good plays with his feet and was obviously trying to get something going. He doesn't want to lose anymore than we do. He's a good kid and the team is full of them. I love this team and I love the direction we're going. But we set ourselves back this year with coaching changes and the loss of some key players, especially on defense. I remember reading one time that the fans were after Tom Osborne when he didn't play the way they wanted him to. That was the time he almost took a job with Colorado. Aren't we all glad he didn't? Then there were all the times when he couldn't win 'the big one'. I liked this quote: "Despite so many years of winning without winning it, Osborne refuses to get caught up in what much of the country believes about his program: that Nebraska plays a weak schedule; that the Cornhuskers choke in the big game; that his record-setting tenure is lacking without a national championship; that the pursuit of a title should be some sort of quest. "People keep wanting me to say I'm heartbroken for not having won the national championship," Osborne says. "But I'm not. Would I like to win one? Sure. But heartbroken? No." There is the temptation to compare his coaching career to his passion for salt water fishing, to equate his life with that fish. Does he live and breathe to win or simply to coach? They are intertwined, of course, since no coach could survive at a place like Nebraska without winning big. But the man who doesn't rant and rave or throw temper tantrums also does not stress over things he cannot control. He loves the competition and refuses to be tormented by his perceived failures." Bo has won at least 9 games each season he's been here. There are thousands of college football coaches who would LOVE to have that kind of record. I sometimes think that we as fans are simply living in the past. We want every team to be like the 95 team and guess what? We're not and we're probably not going to be. But we can get better. We've shown that already this year. Folks in the B1G like what we have to offer. They like our fans, they enjoy the competition we offer. We're going to be ok. The sky is not falling. The sun will rise in the morning. Time to put this game to bed and move on.
  11. Yes he did! It's not his fault that the receivers kept dropping the ball or fumbling the ball. We lost because we were more beat up from that Michigan State game than people thought. We lost because we were out coached, out played by a better team. Enough said-let's move on.
  12. Are you kidding me? So we lost. Big Deal. Take a breath and calm down. Good grief! This is exactly the attitude that 'fans' had when Tom Osborne wasn't 'delivering'. He couldn't win the BIG GAME. People were calling for his head too. We KNOW we have the potential-we saw that last week. Now we know how Michigan State felt last week and how Iowa felt getting beat by Minnesota. It happens but fire the coach? Unbelievable. So we only support the coach when he wins. Blah! Threads like this just make me tired. We're not out of this yet. Forget this game and move on.
  13. Wow. It was Iowa State all over again! Very sad. We beat ourselves.
  14. Ameer is due for a 100 yeard return! GO BIG RED!!! THE TRUE NU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Where'd you go to college ladyhawke? And as far as Minnesota goes... not no more. They gave up a full field drive to Sparty to end the half down 17-21. Their defense is a total Let's hope Cousins finds a way to give this one away. I went to Northwest Missouri State. We had a bunch of kids from Iowa and they were mostly Cyclone (Iowa St.) fans which really burned when we had our reunion the year Iowa State beat us! Blah! lol
  16. Go Hogeyes! (I went to college with a bunch of kids from Iowa and I always teased them using this substitute!) What I can't believe is that Minnesota is beating Michigan State 17-14! Love it! AND Ohio State and Indiana are TIED 13-13!!!
  17. I was watching the BTN's B1G Pulse tonight and Tom Dienhart, senior writer for BTN predicts that Wisconsin will play Nebraska in Indianapolis for the championship! Cool! I think that's going to happen as well. Great to have that vote of confidence. What do you think? Will we win? Agree or disagree? If you agree, why do you think we'll win? If you disagree why won't we win?
  18. What's more important; the tradition itself or what the tradition represents? I don't see any inconsistency with Bo's way of handling the Blackshirts in terms of what they represent, and thus I have absolutely zero problem with it. I agree. We are still honoring the 'Blackshirt' history by giving them out to the boys who are deserving of the honor. I think Bo made a very strong statement when he took them away initially and basically said, 'Earn them.' That, IMHO, isn't much different than what Charlie did. Again, Charlie McBride himself, said that there isn't a wrong way or a right way to give them out.
  19. Charlie said that same thing in that article that Dirk wrote. I was against it when I initially posted this but now that I know that Charlie is ok with it-so am I.
