  1. Once again, just like the Pacers / Detroit incident, buying a ticket doesn't give you the right to say or do whatever you want, or be on the field of play. If this f*g, er, uh, I mean ruf nek was so close to the warm ups and saying who knows what, then he got what he deserves. You gotta be pretty stupid or have some serious brass to be talkin' sh*t to a 300lb + lineman in full gear. At least give yourself some running room. Fn Hillbillies! GBR - for better or worse!
  2. Just curious, is Pelini's name coming up for any of the HC jobs that are becoming available?
  3. Right on Wags! See this is the kind of thing that can really help fire up a program. One man simply says no and shows his commitment to our team, and to our tradition of excellence. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he was born, raised, and played in Nebraska. I know he has a couple of small roots that lead to Nebraska, but that probably has nothing to do with it. Man, that is so huge! That's gotta pump up the O- Line and hopefully the entire offense, if not the entire team. Damn, it pumped me up... LET ME IN COACH, I'M READY!
  4. Thanks Ostatefan. Just as I have stated in a previous post; in general, for the most part, and with the exception of a very few...we have some of the most respectful, classiest fans in all of sports (college and professional). Keep in mind this extends to ALL Big Red fans, not just those in the great state of Nebraska. As I have said before, we had an awsome bar out here in Cali called the "Cornhusker club and suds bar". It was so awesome, we had great memorabilia, great food, and even red beer. The owner, Vern, would clank his cow bell every time we scored. The place would be packed with Husker fans of all ages every game that they could get on t.v. Every once in a while some brave heart would come in wearing an A&M or a CU hat or something, without any trouble or problem. The fans showed a lot of respect, it was so cool! Unfortunately, the bar only thrived during football season and eventually the entire strip of businesses was bought out and torn down. A real shame, but I have faith it will rise again one day. My point being, as I have stated before, the core of our great program starts with the fans and what we stand for. No matter what coaches, players, or schemes, come and go, we the fans should always stay constant and true. This is the core of our great program as well as the part that we control. We are the heart beat of Nebraska football and it will be great again because it has to. Maybe some fans should not be so quick to question our "identity" and simply look in the mirror. GBR - for better or worse!
  5. Hopefully that is part of the recruiting process. Hell, look at the character of some of our past recruits e.g. Lawrence Phillips, Peter Bros., Thunder Collins, RI. BC has shown he does not put up with "me" players who cause trouble i.e. RI. Let me ask this, is your mama a good cook? If yes, then I'll bet she STARTS with the BEST INGREDIENTS. The rest is up to her! Get the analogy? This will be where we see if BC and co. can cook...I'm bettin' he can!

Heard he was butt naked in the middle of the street holding a bottle of jack like a football doing the Heisman pose (Just Kidding, but wouldn't that be great). Actually, I don't think it would matter much if he sat out, but yes it would be interesting to find out. Also, it would be interesting to see if it affects the Heisman voting. Hell, there has to be some dignity left in college sports.
  9. Damn, my thoughts exactly Dave. TO and Frankie both had an eternity (if you count time as an assistant); BC DESERVES at least a little time. Hell, the guy simply answered the phone one day... Peterson on the other hand, I have no respect for, but BC deserves at least a little time.
  10. Scream all you want. The point trying to be made by the comparison is: Great recruiting does not equal great coaching. No, but a coach needs to have players who can execute his game plan. Now if he gets those players and still has trouble, then you look to make a change, but not before then. Give the guy a chance to get the players and put it ALL together.
  11. What do you call people in Nebraska?? For the most part, great fans with class and respect. I took a look at a sooner message board before the game, and all those knuckleheads could do is make stupid remarks and joke about us and our coaches. No intelligent talk about anything, just a bunch crap spewing from a bunch of idiots who only wish they had the class and great reputation Nebraska fans have. But I am ok with it because when we do take them down....and it will be sooner than later, it will be all so sweet. Yes, BC should not have said it, but I am sure glad he did. This rivalry got a brand new blood line baby!
  12. "Callahan yelled "F#*%ing hillbillies" Well they are...aren't they?
  13. I can't believe we've been reduced to celebrating a last second field goal that beat the 30 pt. spread. And some people in here refuse to believe how far we've sunk in one year. I think it's really sad, personally. One year??? This is the end result of a dynamic that has been going on longer than that.
  14. Stoops is a D*ck and Pelini is an Ass H*&% - they go well together! OU has NO class thanks to these guys and I am so proud of BC basically saying F*%k You with the field goal. Let me see... up by 30 late in the game and they leave the first string in and try to score. The only thing that would have made this better is if White would have gotten hurt. I don't say that because I wish that on him personnally, but that would have been the ultimate backfire! I would have loved to hear what OU fans would say about Stoops had that happened. Right after the game I got a call from my friend who is die hard Notre Dame fan and he says "I am now a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers..." . That was so cool, something special happened tonight... GBR - for better or worse!
  15. I saw clips of the game from the BC show. To be honest, I was encouraged by what I saw on offense at times. The plays were there!!!! Guys were open and either didn't make the catch or were overthrown. It really made me feel like we are just a few players and a few less mistakes away from really big things. Defensively, I was glad to see BC in his press conf. had NO ONE on defense as a player of the game! Hopefully they were saving their best game for Nov. 13th.
  16. You know, I didn't even realize that we have dominated this series. If I counted right we have won 8 of the last 10 against OU and something like 13 out of the last 20. We can do this man, we can win this thing!
  17. Right on dude I'll buy a round for that post. We should never, and I mean NEVER quit on our Huskers. As I have said in previous posts, I always believe our team can win. Intensity will be a key factor. I hate OU, and I especially hate them because Pelini is over there now waiving his thumb at us. This is our true rivalry game and we can win. God I don't care what else happens this season as long as we beat the sooners. GBR - for better or worse!
  18. I just about fell out of my chair. During half time of Marshall vs Akron game on ESPN2 the question was asked "who has the best chance in the Big 12 North...?" Mark May busted out with "Nebraska! The Blackshirts are back and Bill Callahan is doing a great job...!" Trev had no response, he probably couldn't believe what he was hearing either. I just hope that doesn't jinx us.
  19. Spurrier officially withdrew his name from the candidate list. Bo should put his name in for the job .
  20. Cornhuskers - 27 Cyclones - 10 Rushing yards - 250 Passing yards - 200
  21. No, you are absolutely right...we should quit right now...not even show up. In fact, BC should call up Stoops today and say "you know Bob, since you are probably going to kick our ass, we'll just give both our teams a little extra rest and not even show up" Just like when we went to the Rose bowl and didn't truely deserve it. Did you have the same attitude then? Although the assessment of where we'd stand in the south is close, I am completely amazed; being realistic is one thing but come on dude...are you a sooner fan in disguise?
  22. I second that! Right on Brother.
  23. I only saw the fourth quarter because I was at practice with my youth football team. I loved the announcers comment that Brad Smith would be spending quite a bit of time in whirlpool tomorrow. We must have laid some serious hits on him. I was concerned about some of the play of our d.b.'s on the last drive that put Miz 1st and goal. Granted the first P.I. call was bull, but we were not FINISHING. Mcpherson concerned me a bit (fell down in the end zone leaving receiver wide open). That last drive had nothing to do with schemes, but rather obvious player breakdowns. We have to ride this wave of momentum through the rest of the season. GBR...for better or worse! p.s. Pelini and co. got lucky against Ok St. (gave up 35 points).
