Last I heard he was heading a charity thing for Boomer and Son. There was talk that Rimmington was going to be working with TO about doing AD duties and quite possible becoming the permanent AD, I think it was mentioned that it was one of TO's stipulations of doing AD. If Im wrong, sorry, but I just remember it stated alot amongst the many threads.

Don't be too surprised when you see TO on the field watching and helping on the sidelines. I expect a huge (positive) response from the fans when he shows up and I feel that will help the players get focused. Especially if he is on the sidelines supporting the Coaches even if they are only here a short time.

If Cally and Co. make a decent showing for A&M and Texas. I expect them to remain till seasons end, but don't bet on me I broke a shoe lace this morning. Rock out with your Corn Cob out!

:asshat Classless, We are the best fans in college football so act like it. The guy is gone, its inevitable, but atleast let him leave in peace. He came in here with good intentions and it hasn't panned out the way everyone wanted. Remember how Solich was treated when he was fired. We all learned a lesson from that. I highly doubt Cally woke up one morning and said I want to see how far I can ruin this team. He obviously is not HC quality that we need but that dosen't make him a bad person. Give the man the same respect that you would want after being fired. If I didn't live 3,000 miles away I would still be showing my support for the team and I would still shake the coaching staffs hand as they leave. There's still football to be played and damit give the team, OUR HUSKERS!!! some respect.

I think he will/does care. He will want another job after this one. I agree with you Redman, I think Cally cares deeply for these kids and he has all the best intentions. I just don't think he has the HC skills needed to succeed though and that he is good as an assistant or coordinator so that he can concentrate on his one area he's good at. I wish Cally and his family the best in there future for whatever that may bring, and everyone please remember that he has a family just like the rest of us and to respect that.

The important thing is not when will Cally be gone, but what are we going to do once he is gone? I think it will go down like this. ~Announce interm AD ~Interm AD announce HC dismissal, and Interm HC untill season end (maybe the interm will get the bowl game or not) ~Announce Permanant AD ~Announce New HC and staff ~An interesting National Signing Day This is going to be one of those processes that will take time. The worst part is time is of the essence, due to recruits and giving the new HC plenty of time to start working towards next season. Things could/will get ugly quick but I see some positives if things are handled right. There will always be negatives in everything, but as long as the positives out weight the negatives then Ill be satisfied.

That surprised me a bit - as busy as the board was on signing day, I would have assumed it would have been in February. Any idea of the record for the number of people on the board at once? According to Eric the Red in THIS THREAD, it's 525 set yesterday, the 14th. Wow...how many of the 525 are 'new to Huskerboard but concerned fans?' Probably lots. Good question. I can say that the registrations have jumped through the roof over the last three weeks. Can't say I'm surprised...even under the circumstances, it'd be cool if some of them stuck around for when the going gets good. And damn it...the going WILL get good again. Even if I don't necessarily agree with how people go about wanting success for NU, there is WAY too much love and support for the program to be down for long. And that is a good thing.
