  2. Umm we are failing this one, btw its like number 12/14 in the polling. Seriously an appitizer for Florida vs LSU... Game probably wont even be close but still hoping florida loses.
  3. LOL sounds like a Billy C quote to me; Announcer: "So coach how do you feel about the game?" BC: "Well I think we went out there and it was a hard fought battle." Announcer: "But coach you lost 70-3?!" BC: "They just made more plays than us." (as he does that nervous jaw tick thing)
  4. Where you at cause there are lots of Husker folk in Spangdahlem and Ramstein, maybe even a watchsite.
  5. He hasn't been sacked much, but he has been hit a lot. He has a bad habit of not looking out for his blind side.................................................which I'm very happy about! Pinkle is very aware of keeping the QB time to get rid of the ball. Thats why when Gabbert is in the shotgun he is 7 yards back instead of the normal 4. MU has been doing that for about 4 years now cause its hard for a D-lineman to get a break off the ball and a full head of steam if the QB is starting 7 yards away from him and see's him coming. God I really hope that blind side is open enough to be useful.
  6. As for the original post...Yes. Even Dr. Tom said that the KC area and missouri are fertile recruiting grounds and that it helped when MU & KU didn't have a strong recruiting edge there. Plain and simple NU has lost alot of ground that past decade with that area and have suffered from it. MU has gained alot of air time and publicity due to there success over the past 5 years and are viewed as a program on the rise. Hell even their athletic department in whole is starting to pick up momentum. Welcome to the social disfunctionalism that is "What have you done for me lately!".
  7. Maybe they can work something out but I seriously doubt it. Like so many threads before that rivalry is all but dead unless meet them in the Big XII CCG in the years we don't play them.
  8. Just dredging up an old topic but since its MU week I'd figure I'll bring it up. Well its 4 weeks into the season and I seem pretty spot on in my predictions so I'm thinking this one will be much the same. The only thing that might have changed is the fact that MU's defense is a little worse than I thought. But then again I'm not sold on Lee's ability to win games in a hostile enviroment...and yes it will be hostile. I honestly think it will come down to QB play in this one. Still give the slight edge to MU in this area, I'm expecting a close, close game.
  9. Not to but.....ah hell lets Lets not blow this game up more than it needs to be...but that Missou/Neb bell needs to come home.
  10. Thats like compairing athletes in the special olympics... BTW I fully suport the special olympics and have sponsored numerous kids in events around the world for that event. It was a great time and those kids are better champions than some overpaid cry babies we idolize on TV.
  11. Though I am still a little peeved about missing the entire first half of the NU vs VT game due to the lightning delays in clemsons win vs BC...I mean cmon AFN the game was won in the 3rd switch to the dam NU-VT game. BTW...GL vs Maryland Killer. Thank you sir. Just remember I had nothing to do with the delays. Good luck against Brigham Young East...or whoever BYE is... I do believe that is directional Utah...ah hell its a win just not documented on the schedule

  13. LOL the only reason this article exists is cause of the media coverage for NU's 300th sell out. Some news junkit aka ( Chicago) was like oh ND is number two on that list...lets right a story about it since we cover this region, LAME!!
  14. Just like pre season poll's its a mute point....grats on being right btw That is so true. In all honesty I don't understand why and how they are so bad. Yes it's true their fans are almost non-existent and the university doesn't support them like they should. But, come on. How can they be really as bad as they are. They are so bad that they are almost ISU or KSU like. Remember the BC era, its pretty much the same with hawkins......they'll kick him lose, get a good coach, and we'll have turkey day games as exciting as last years hopefully forever. CU can not afford to fire Hawkins during this season or anytime soon it would appear. From article "The school's total liability could approach $3 million under the terms of the deal if any partial year was prorated in a buyout. If the buyout was limited to three years, it would cost CU no more than $2,550,000. " additionally "The athletic department remains in deeply in debt with the majority of an $8 million loan from the campus and the CU system in 2006 still to be paid off. Part of that debt was caused by the last coaching change when Bohn fired Gary Barnett at the end of the 2005 season and hired Hawkins. " http://www.dailycamera.com/sports/ci_13329737 I heard Lee Barknecht on the radio a couple weeks ago talking about how, ya they are in debt, but if you take into account the amount of season ticket holders who would drop their tickets and the revenue that would be lost to the football program that you could take that estimated amount (which would be around 3.5 million by university estimates) and that would cover his buy out. So in all reality, if they keep him, they likely lose as much or more next year and that's just next year, not to mention the years after in trying to get the season tickets sold again. But he is a Big 12 writer and not in Boulder, so I would tend to believe the Boulder reporter more.... Just food for thought. Ok so lets say they do fire Hawkins...do they pull an NU and fire the AD. After all he was the one who started all this and put all his faith/career into Hawkins by giving him that extension. I'm sure the fluffolo faithful is calling for his head also. So now you have a buy out times two, and who do you replace him with. Go for a big fish like Watson and pay big bucks or go for a little lesser/experienced HC like good ol' Gill. For the life of me who would be even concidered for AD?!? I figure Hawkins will have to make some changes in the coaching staff to help with the head hunters and to help get that defense jump started. Maybe even a new strength and conditioning coach if its true about them looking so slow compaired to other teams. It will be really interesting to see how the rest of this season pans out for them and what happens post Turkey Day.
  15. Honestly the last time I heard some one even use the "Pinkel Factor" was about 2 years ago...of course it was a missou fan that said it so take it for whats it worth. Pinkel is more seasoned and his staff has the advantage as far as tenure is concerned. It wasn't that long ago that Nebraska was known for there coaches having 70+ years combined coaching at NU. No coach wants to see his coaches fail....expect maybe New Mexico
  16. Yeah that probably wont happen this year but hey stranger things have happened. It'll make for great screen play for when we schedule another home and away series with them or Bowl match up...which ever comes first.
  17. The only way I see that happening is if every top BCS 6 auto bids teams finish with 2 losses at least. Houston vs Boise State in the NCG would be the ultimate slap in the face to all the BCS stands for...god I would love to see it.
  18. With the rash of one loss teams this early in the season and the possability of BCS busters running the table. What is everyones thoughts, concerns and projections for the bowl games? If everyone has one-two losses does and undefeated Boise State deserve to be in the NC game? If (When ) NU runs the table and gets to the Big XII CG could we get into a BCS game even with a loss? Alot of what if's and what not's but seeing Boise State in the top 5 this early and top 10 teams going down every week the endless opportunites are there. Just a little side chat to waste the time till 8 Oct. P.S. Thought you all might like the Motivational poster! GBR
  19. I'm sorry but some of those cheerleaders are pretty hot .....of course a few look like there still in high school
  20. Thanks for the kind words and worries, I'm sure he was like most fans and just felt sick from the loss and who knows he might have gotten up too quick. I know I havn't seen anything about a serious injury from the game so I guess that could be a good sign. Some of the other posters might know a little more than I. Thanks again for a hell of a game and cant wait for TO to sign a future Home and Home series with the Hokies. GL and hope you win your conference.
  21. I put 9-3 (homer pick) but I'm really thinking 8-4, main reason behind it is that X factor of losing a game we shouldn't. I see the loses to VT and OU but after that I don't see any sure loses. I personally think the KU and MU games are just as easy of losses as they are of possible wins. At this point I think its a 50/50 split if we were to play them games today. Of course this is baring any unforseen events i.e. injuries and what not. But I see NU only improving on defense throughout the year. Offense is actaully my biggest question mark. Sure the O looked good against sunbelt teams but the VT game gave a good blue print of how to effect our offensive production. Alot more people will be lining up in the box to help stop the run and take away Helu and apply pressure to a QB that seems to get rattled. If the VT game told us anything its that we are still a work in progress. I'm praying for 10-2 but would not be that surprised for an 8-4 record this season. Even if we do go 8-4 I still see us in a great bowl game, now if we drop both games to MU and KU then that X factor game could very well still be in play vs TT, ISU, Baylor, KSU or CU. Hell TT and CU scare me cause damit for some reason everytime we play them its a hell of a game.
  22. 2130 local time here Husker Rob...just praying the AFN dish signal doesn't get all messed up. AFN Schedule
  23. http://jonesborosun.com/story.php?ID=39762 Nice little article, the game enviroment is always a factor wether it be small or large has yet to be determined. I did my research on ASU a while back in my Let's look ahead! series. I never had a doubt about this team coming to play. Though I expect NU to win I think this ASU team has all the makeings to run at the Sunbelt title. After today I wish you guys the best of luck in all your furture games.
  24. Honestly it was a needed change...now take both the good and the bad with a grain of salt but I would keep them but just stack them with the most current year on top. When ever I would want to get nestalgic Id just flip through them. They are hidden when you don't want to look at them but available when you do.
  25. If we lose do we have to disband the football team or something? LOL no but WTF...why does the huskers have to be pink on the map. Kansas is red, you gotta be kidding me.
