Great post. Taking down the big picture of Nebraska with the Husker logo in it and putting up a pic of himself tells me a lot about the kind of guy this is. You know, you think once people get to this stage (top level of coaching) they are not big ego freaks anymore. Obviously, it exists at all levels. Sorry about the loss guys. I hope the Huskers turn it around soon.

If it continues this way, maybe it's a good thing people. I don't know Callahan's qualifications and as an outsider I don't feel too comfortable making coaching suggestions, but this is not Husker football. Somebody posing as an imposter has somehow gotten onto the field. However, this may throw a wrench into the mix and get things stirred up for future changes. I'm not watching the game, are the Huskers really playing that poorly or is Ok State that good? I have a hard time believing Ok State is that good. Me thinks it has to be the Huskers are doing all of this to themselves.

This SUCKS! Have they completely lost confidence in their coaching staff? THIS SUCKS!!

Husker fans, you're playing the biggest choke team in NCAA football. It wouldn't surprise me to see The Huskers come back and win this game. Look at what Ok State has done every single time they've had a big lead over the last few years. They've blown it. I have to say, I hope Nebraska gets a new coach soon and return to glory ASAP. I don't like seeing this one bit.

Stick together and stick with your team. Wear that "N" or adorn it on your computer or car with pride, no matter what ANYONE says. In fact, the more they say the more you should throw it back in their face when you tell them, "times change." Nebraska football, although with a replete history of tremendous winning seasons, means a lot more than just wins and losses. Nebraska football is one of the greatest traditions in college football and it means more than just that. I'm serious. Be proud of the GOOD, CLEAN, HARD-FIGHTING, DO WHAT'S RIGHT blood that pours through Husker veins. You will return to prominence, and I for one will raise my fist and say "D*MN RIGHT!" when that happens. Hang in there Husker faithful. You know, the coaching thing you brought up is interesting. Those were two FANTASTIC coaches, btw. Aside from being a Sooner fan, I'm a Miami Dolphin fan and I can understand how you feel. I was so used to the playoffs every single year and chances of a Superbowl. Now, the last five or six years have been pure hell to be a Dolphin fan. I guess I'm trying to draw a comparison. Nebraska - Great Program, great tradition of winning, currently in somewhat of a drought. Miami Dolphins, Great Program, great tradition of winning, currently in a drought as well. I don't remember Devaney, but Osborne and those teams reflected the values of the great state of Nebraska. I truly mean that. If there is ever a single college football program that OU would lose to, I could pick no finer institution or fans than those of Nebraska. You guys hang in there, it will happen. I think we got lucky in attaining Stoops. Put some of those intelligent Husker faithful in either getting this coach on the right track or getting a new one and it will happen for you. As a resident Okie here I really appreciate your kind words. Handle them horns. I will be rooting for you!! Thanks HSKRNOKC. I hope the Sooners can handle the Horns today after that debacle in Colorado last week. It just goes to show that the competition level between all schools is closer than many might think. The ONLY time I root against Nebraska is when they play the Sooners, and even then I want it to be a clean game with no injuries and may the best team win. I've been to many Nebraska/OU games and Nebraska fans are by far some of the classiest anywhere. That's where my deep respect for Husker Football began. Manhandle them Tigers Huskers!

We will beat Texas this year. They are struggling big time. I think we play OU agian in the Big 12 championship. I think we are still a few years from a NC type team. We are going to need to get some major talent on defense as well as a better defensive play caller. I think NU should go out a break the bank trying to get a defensive guru in there as coordinator. Texas is going to turn the jets on starting this weekend. Mark it down. They'll edge OU in a VERY close game (31-28). PLEASE, return to real life. It's possible that Texas will beat OU, but I seriously doubt it. They are the fifth best team in the Big XII after OU, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. I don't know if UT is below Nebraska aTm and TT, but OU is definitely head and shoulders above them...no way Texas wins that game I would be darn happy to see Nebraska run the North table from here on out, as well as beat Texas and T A&M. I like A&M for toughness, but Nebraska WILL step up in the coming weeks, I really believe that. These are "The Huskers" for crying out loud! You know, when I was younger, it was simply OU winning all the way that I was concerned about. But as you grow older, you learn to respect football for what it is. You also begin to identify with like minds and mindsets and learn to love other things for what they represent and how things feel deep inside, in your heart. This is true. Nebraska is a fine school with a fine tradition of winning, in the very best way. I do believe Nebraska will return to prominence within the next few years, at least I hope so very much. It ain't college football without Nebraska being in the top tier on a regular basis. You guy's fan base is one of the best (if not THE best) in all of college football. Coming from an OU fan, this ought to inspire some faith in the program, not that you needed it.

Sorry to sound like a homer, but Texas will not win the South. I think you know what that means. I think Nebraska wins the North, and has a shot at beating OU in the championship game. However, I think they lose a close one and go on to a major bowl.

True class, like a real Nebraska fan. I'm sorry for the loss, but I saw a lot of good things to build on for Nebraska. You have a fine QB for one. I still think Nebraska will win the North. Go Huskers! And ditto to you as well on the class statement. Wished more of you OU fans were the same way. Unfortunately I don't see it that often. Maybe you can instill some of that class with Sooner Nation. You guys are looking very good this year. Bradford is playing lights out for freshman. You're welcome. There are ALOT more Sooner fans that feel the same way than you realize. We know that the tradition between OU and NU was a great thing for both programs. Nebraska has always acted with class, in my book. Oh yeah, there are a few incidents on both sides, Brian Bosworth saying that playing in Nebraska was like playing in Moscow and (Solich?) calling us F'ing hillbillies. But, to be honest, most OU fans generally think of Nebraska fans as a class act, which they are. You'll have those neanderthals showing up that ruin it for the rest of us, but be assured, we know you guys are a great program. It'll all come together for Nebraska eventually. OU went through some sickening times in the 90s until Stoops came in. You are nowhere near as out of the race as we were for an entire decade. The team can learn from this loss to USC, and they will. If anything, it will show all of the areas where you are weak and the coaches, if they are smart, will focus on those weaknesses. College football today is an entirely different sport than it was 30, even 15 years ago. Back in the day, you would have never seen an Appalachian State beat Michigan or Central Florida almost beat Texas. But, like the NFL, college football today is very competitive. Oklahoma has the good fortune of sitting right next to the state of Texas and getting alot of recruits from there. What is Nebraska sitting next to? Not any huge recruiting state, that's for sure. Nebraska has consistently had to rely on recruits from across the country to get the job done, which is much more of a daunting task than for Oklahoma to suck off a dozen high quality recruits 2 or 3 hours from home. Things will come together for the Huskers. It has to, it was the way it was meant to be darnit! Cheers,

You make a good point. Football is a great sport and it's momentum that carries the team and the fans many times. I saw two or three plays that could have made that game have an entirely different outcome. Look ahead, Huskers. It's one loss and if it's the only loss, you'll be playing someone for the Big XII title. One game at a time.
