  1. OK, last year, I wanted Joe Ganz for president... I thought then he was a very good QB and deserved to lead our country. But NOW, I want WRECKS Burkhead as president! I really liked watching that kid churning up THE TURF when he ran that ball! My LORD, THAT is Nebraska running the football!!! Thank you Mr. Burkhead... GO BIG RED!
  2. Well, you gotta give the guy credit, it IS a funny one... and he nailed it: "Every fan-base has a douche bag..." Well, now we know who one of K-State's 'douche-bag' fans is!
  3. I kinda see this as a rivalry game also. Have since McCartney took over in the 80's and put US on their radar... But, I see the KSU game as a rivalry just like the OU as a rivalry game. THOSE are the teams I like to see us beat THE MOST. Missouri is getting close for me too, but not QUITE yet. Gimme a year or two...
  4. Yeah, CU could give us alllllll we want. They are STILL mad about last year. Plus, I've watched CU play this year and our defense is (or CAN be) better than theirs which will help slow down their offense but if we don't find an answer for our opponents passing plays in the middle, we will be SCHOOLED. I think our defense ROLLS in this game, and holds TOUGH when we're defending inside the 15, but that god dang CU can MOVE that ball in the open field, and THAT is what skeers me. I, for one, am worried. That being said, if we could have one of those 'fluke' games where our offense just 'hits it' and we get rolling, we'll mow CU down. I think they'll have trouble keeping their 'heart' in this game if we can move the ball. I've never been a CU fan (I even LIVE in Kolorado... sigh...) but they'll play with an inordinate amount of disgusting emotion if we let them in this game. It will take a MUCH better offensive game for Friday than we had last Saturday. They're no KSU, they won't come out 'flat'... GOD I want these guys to slaughter them 76 to 3... GO BIG RED!
  5. Holy God on fire...! They LITERALLY get better the farther you go... I think I may have pee'd on the, "He'd eat a homeless person, if you DARED him!" Jezus...!
  6. "Well played sir... wellll played."
  7. I don't think these young guys WOULD TAKE a week off! They have had a couple of games under their belt where they played as a team and sort of 'fed off' of each other... I'd say they likely ENJOYED that and I don't think you could get them to take the CU game off. Plus, I think if Bo Pelini even READS this topic, you will likely see him stalking around Lincoln, fist clenched, teeth gnashing, scowl ON, with several dead and disemboweled cheerleaders in his jowls... No, nobody's 'taking the game off'... Plus, as a fan, I want them to play a demented and disturbed game against KSU AND CU! GO BIG - GODAWFUL BLOODSOAKED - RED!!!
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...! OK, I think our D will play as well as usual against KU Saturday and will do all the terrible, debilitating, crushing things they seem to do to opponents this year... But how about our Offense against this KU D? What are you guys thinking? Closer matchup than usual? What say ye?
  9. In SLOW-Mo it looked bad, but in real-time it just looked like a pumped up kid playing hard defensive football. looked like he was jacked up and loving life. Sure, I'd have been happier with him jumping ONCE and heading for his team mates, but in the words of many an immortal: COME ON! Let 'em play!
  10. Yeah, that was a GREAT bit of fun to watch! I even saw my much desired 'option' tossed in there dangerously, complete with it's most scariest outcomes! Man, I love 'husker football. Thanks, GO BIG FRIGGIN' RED!
  11. It was a joke dude. RELAX. If it makes you feel any better, I wear a mullet, and Knapplc still rocks the Bel Biv Devoe overalls. You're right... I apologize... All references that I'm actually too old to really 'get', so I'm smiling on the outside going, "Who the hail is Bel Biv Devoe...?" DEVO? Now, THAT I remember... I think my testosterone levels are totally out of synch after that win over OU... Some of it may have dribbled out on-line. In fact, I woke up around midnight on Saturday night post-game lying outside a game farm with a half eaten Gazelle clamped between my thighs, smelling of burnt rubber and pond water. I haven't seen my wife in 3 days, all of my employees are avoiding eye contact and the office manager is now using the water cooler down the hall... a lot... Seriously, I'm sorry. I enjoy this forum... GO BIG RED!
  12. Gee, that was kind of rude. By 1999 I had already been under fire... and you? Yeah, let the internet rough and tough out now, un-cage your beast... *yawn* Sorry I interrupted your morning.
  13. Great read, glad you guys got to do that. I got to go for the first and likely only time last year... Took my older brother, we had fun and it was worth every penny! Great memories... You are SO lucky you got to 'be' part of that OU game that we were supposed to lose... GO BIG RED!
  14. THAT was quite a game. I just kept WAITING for OU to come alive and every time they DID, our defense just kept slapping them right back to the grave. Time after time after time after....TIME! I was so absolutely impressed with our D! I thought our O-line play calling was really good, it looked like there were adjustments being made on the fly, and those kids NEVER EVER gave up! Yes, it would have been even more rewarding if they could have had 2 more touches at games end, but my GOD to just keep GRINDING along! How much heart does that take on that O-side of that ball???? Man, I thought they REALLY showed some integrity as an offensive unit. I'm giving that team and those coaches a TOTAL A+ for that game. A game they were supposed to get BLOW OUT at and they pull off a win. CONGRATS you CORNHUSKIN' WINNERS!!!!! Way to play above your heads and to PLAY OUT! Green did his thing, Lee did his thing... ENTERTAINMENT at it's goddang finest!!!! THANK YOU !!! GO BIG RED!
  15. Maybe I'm an average joe too then... Except for almost 10 years now I've needed a friggin' HEART MONITOR and a syringe full of adrenaline near my couch every game day! Porn? Hey, you gotta love THAT, right? A cigar, I don't smoke, but I like the smell of one... But, you'd have to throw in some choppers and guns in there to satisfy my average joe needs. Oh, and some more porn too, that can't hurt... You're right tho. If we had Castille and Burkhead AND Helu was un-injured, we COULD be much more of a threat in our running game and I think many of our offensive issues would clean up... 'N.C. style clean up'? I don't know about THAT, but 'very competitive clean up', yeah. I don't know, I guess these is the cards we've been dealt. We can either make the best of it with them, or fold and go home. I don't think these kids are wanting us to fold... THEY don't wanna fold... SCREW IT, let's let 'em play, and hopefully they get at least one win this year that they are NOT SUPPOSED to get! THAT is what I'm hoping for... I'm behind these guys. Yes, they're playing a little 'behind the 8-ball' (not a meth reference) right now with the injury list, but who KNOWS who might come out and shine. GO BIG GODDAM RED!
  16. When you look at the tangibles in Saturday's matchup, OU is a LOT better than us... BUT, I think if these men of the red can come out, even for three quarters, and play lights out, wayyyy above their heads, we could win this game. THAT would be sooooo cool. I'd love to see these kids get a win that they are NOT SUPPOSED to get... I think they DESERVE a win against #24 OU and I hope the football Gods are listening. Someone asked who this game meant MORE to...? Jesus, you're kidding, right? OU's national title hopes are gone for this year, they'll end up with a winning season and that's GOOD ENOUGH for them for this year. No-one's gonna cancel their friggin' recruiting visit to Norman because OU loses to NU this year...! Stoops is till gonna pull grade A talent from all over the goddang USA for his team. Jesus. Between him and Mack Brown, you'd think they're PAYING them kids to come there! If OU loses this game, it's not the end of the world for them. They're chock full of talent already and will just re-load next year. A win for NU however...? Holy Jesus, mother of the lamb... THAT would be HUGE for our program. GOBIGRED! NU:86 OU:24 *gulp*
  17. And SO it shall be... Unless Green starts. I think Lee DID show improvement, I thought play calling was OK, I think we had a FLUKE of dropped passes and fu#$les... Good for Lee or WHOMEVER plays tomorrow, I don't give a greasy, slightly off-green, loose bowel movement, I just wanna see some HUSKER GODDA** FOOTBALL! GBR!
  18. Hey, good idea! Put them BOTH in as QB on the same play! Think of the options we'd have then...!
  19. Yeah, and who should we start? Lee or Green...?
  20. this. Last year. My ONLY husker game ever attended. Baylor (Griffin) gave us ALLLLLL we could handle in the first half. We won last year and I think we'll win this year, but it WON'T be because we overlooked or underestimated Baylor (I HOPE!). GBR!
  21. Blih -Blah, green / lee / helu / suh... I'm looking forward to watching another Nebraska football game. I can't WAIT to see what these guys do in Texas. I think it'll be a good game and it'll just be NICE to be watching a new game again. This past week has felt like 30 days!!! Anticipation mounting... If I had the power to tell these young men something it would be, "Here's another chance to play a good game... now go out and KICK SOME BEAR BUTT!" Looking forward to tomorrow... I don't give a bloody snot ball anymore about predicting the future of our season, I just wanna watch some NU football and see some GREAT hitting, breaking free up the middle, long passes, options, whatever and Suh & Co. feeding off the flesh of opponents... GO BIG RED!!!
  22. That's my point, I don't really think it IS in a state of panic. I think some of the fans are, but I think the program is still rolling along, feeling some heat from losses, but overall I think it's kind of status quo. This program never 'gives up' or throws in the towel, it just does what it knows.
  23. Yeah, OK, I see... we're talking about two different issues here... I didn't mean there was controversy about who would start for the 95 season, I meant there was split talk about who was healthier / better throughout '94 and when Frazier would return, etc., etc., etc... but I am confused by your statement about an injury NEVER taking a starting position. I mean, really? Wasn't Frazier's 'starts' kind of taken from HIM (blood clot-out), Berringer's 'starts' taken from him (popped lung-out)? I'm referring to 'starts' as who STARTS the game, not the season... Jesus, none of this matters I guess.
  24. In all of our threads (start Green, Fire Pelini, whatever BS we've come up with)... Have we (the fans) become a bunch of prima-donna, whiney-butt babies? I know that in this age of technology our thoughts and frustrations and/or elations are easily passed about (it was tougher in the days of 'party-lines' and letters to the Editor!) so, it's likely not a fair comparison... BUT, I just wonder what Dr. Tom is saying... Do you suppose it's, "Stay the course young Mr. Pelini, you're not going to win by giving in to temptation brought on by frustration..." OR, is he saying, "Pelini! GET in here! What in the name of holy cornhuskin' are you THINKING!???" My guess is that Dr. Tom is calmly telling Coach Pelini, "I share your frustration Bo, but you have a solid game plan. Now throw in a tiny bit of option football for the fans of age and experience, get in there and fire your offensive line up with calm, quiet resolution and go out and beat Baylor." Oh, I was gonna ask if we should start Green or Lee in Saturdays game, but maybe that's already been discussed...?
