1st of all this is BS for two reasons -- 1. Mike would never let this happen - my company works extremely close to him and I know he would never allow this. 2. Even if the shirts got out -- what's to say it is not referring to the AD job. This is in conjunction with the theory that Perlman went with Tom so that he could interview Turner for the AD job not a HC position. Interesting rumor, I'll give you that, but if that were the case - our company would know by now. We were the first outside of Lincoln/Omaha with the T.O. shirts once he was named AD.

If you have been watching TV lately and have HBO you may have noticed the "Michigan vs Ohio State" TV special. They have been running it a lot lately. Anyway, it recaps the entire series even back to the beginning of the rivalry (when Ohio stole land from Michigan). The reason I bring this up is because I was too young to live through the OU vs NU days... All I have had is the once every couple years game, and the piss-pour excuse for a rivalry with CU. How great was our rivalry with OU? I mean really -- unbiased -- was it bigger than Michigan vs. Ohio State? DAMN THE MAN FOR RUINING OUR THANKSGIVING DAY TRADITION! Buck the Fuffs!

Granted he'll prolly go to Cal (he's been there before) but is he a possible candidate?

I have a friend who is a regent, and when I asked him --- he said that regents wouldn't know any quicker than any of us. Regents deal with the academic aspect of the colleges and are representative - they have NO PART IN ATHLETIC AFFAIRS.... So shut up with your ridiculous rumor.... :asshat

i agree, but: if callahan gets his contract bought out, whether by boosters/the U/or the Rams, it is not technically firing him (which TO said he would not do until the end of the season) and it would not be resigning (as BC said he would not do). think about this for a minute: at your job, mcdonalds --> pfizer --> first national, wherever - if you are not doing you job to the terms or extent of your contract - you get fired or asked to leave. simple as that. callahan, coz, wagner, and wyatt have all failed at their jobs this season. we are ranked 107th in TTL DEFENSE....... and dead last in Rush Defense...... oh, but we are 46th in pass eff. defense so let's keep giving coz more time. bull sh!t buddy wyatt has failed - allowing teams to run up the gut untouched game after game, no stats needed - video proof. wagner - 69th in rush offense means poor blocking upfront, at least they are almost in the top 25 in pass offense. coz - need i defend why i think he should be canned - simply put --> HE RUINS DEFENSES! callahan - besides being the most unemotional coach in any sport ever, he implements a complex offense that our players don't want to run ---> probably because "it's too technical" for any of us normal human beings. callahan needs fired for the simple fact that he hasn't fired or "let go" of the three listed above him. According to the radio crew they played the classic tunnel walk without the plane scene and without the mikey bo intro... it just played highlights (crouch's catch from stuntz vs OU, and purify's catch last year vs TAMU). It then went into the part with the statues attacking a TAMU player then to the tunnel for the horseshoe slap. hope that was enough description FINALLY NO MORE AIRPLANE SCENE!!! GBR

I know we are coming off two embarrassing losses - but - never has the rumor mill been this active. At some point on Sunday night something happened that filled the phone lines and got the folks in Nebraska excited. I understand rumors. BUT - why would we all be hearing similar stories from different places. I heard it from a UNL Track Coach Somebody else heard it from a UNL wrestler Someone heard about it from a UNL staff member Then this and that. I know something went down - I just don't have the patience to sit here wondering what the future of our program has in store. GBR

I just got this same rumor text from a friend who is a coach on the track team. he has said that Pedersen is gone along with 2 assistants -- here goes the rumor mill. GO BIG RED

obviously some got the humor, some didn't, but in any case -- saying that T. Gill is ready to coach an NU is like saying a high school coach is ready to coach at NU. No matter what happens on the field this season WE ARE STILL RESPECTED AS A POWERHOUSE. We need a coach that reflects that! No T. Gill is not the answer - neither is a high school coach - I was Making A Point. Point Made. GBR Bring back blonde herbie

I'm flat out sick of the T.Gill talk. There is no way this guy could handle a program of Nebraska's magnitude. Think about this for a second: the guy is 5-16 in two years. Give him another 5-10 years and he may catch on - but not yet - and definitely not at NU. I believe in tradition - and I believe we need somebody who understands that - but not him. We need a REAL coach. We need a young guy. GO BIG RED
