  1. fro is right. good to have you on the board. some of us can use the different perspective every now and again.
  2. how did Nebraska only score 6 against this team? Even with a busted up QB and 1000 yards of penalties--6 freaking points??
  3. anyone who thinks that an entire crew of officials conspired in advance to screw nebraska because Bebe told them to is nuts. It may be fun to joke about and it might be fun to stick it to Bebe, but anyone who actually thinks that is crazy even for internet message boards. Why don't the journalists do their job figure out... what do you want the journalists to do? Find a secret tape recorded conversation of the officials on speaker phone with Bebe discussing how they will screw nebraska? I've seen this argument over and over--well if the journalists are doing such a crappy job of uncovering this plot, please share how you would go about doing their jobs. Statistical analysis of the penalties and their anomalies has been presented. What more is there for a journalist to do? For the best (usually means brightest) college football fans there sure is a lot of stupid going on here (here meaning husker nation--not this thread or this board). It is much more logical to assume that the officials called a horrible game, that they might be incompetent at their craft and that they either consciously or unconsciously let bo's treatment of them effect how they called the game. This is wrong. It also happens almost every Saturday of the year. Maybe not to this degree, but check the message boards of the auburn/alabama game after it is played. If the game ends with a point disparity of less that 7 points I will bet $50 right now that there will be a thread about how the officials were horrible and cost their team the game. the losing team's fans will feel like they got screwed. the only difference between them and us is that we are projecting it all on Bebe and the big 12 because we are leaving the conference. /endrant win tomorrow and none of this matters.
  4. he didn't say it was ok--just said if it is a 50/50 call which way do you think that call is going to go? and he is right. This isn't a commentary on Bo, it is about human nature. The ref may not be making that call on purpose--it is likely that it is an unconscious decision.
  5. as someone who lives in st. louis, let me assure you that Bernie is not "aspiring". He has been around for a while and plays radio host quite often. But he is a hack and would be about the 6th best sports reporter for the OWH.
  6. I knew I was asking too much. If two of those balls are caught by people 18-22 then we are ranked 4-5 in the nation, got revenge on texas and bo gets a life-time contract in nebraska. oh--and if you would cruise over to the texas board in this alternate universe then they all want to fire Brown and his staff. See how ridiculous those arguments are? All over young men catching 2 footballs. we have a good team with good coaches with our best days (at least since the TO days) are ahead of us.
  7. I know I am asking too much--but please don't be that message board where team X loses to team Y and then we should fire all/some of the coaches of team X. Look, at the beginning of the year you would have been crazy to think nebraska was going to win every game. All other goals are still on the table. Almost every NCAA div 1 team will lose a game this year... that doesn't mean you fire the coaches. That is what is expected to happen. we have a good coaching staff and a good team. The last 8 years should allow us appreciation of that. we can still win the big 12 and go to a BCS (truly we can still win a MNC--although not likely) and we still have Taylor Martinez for the next 3 years and we still have Bo and Carl coaching up our D. The future is bright--back away from the panic button. off for another Gin and Tonic DT
  8. I agree with some of the sentiments above. I know that it is probably the right move and I am excited about the possibilities, but my heart is also not in it. I love watching big 12 football, and I just don't know that purdue, northwestern etc. will do it for me. Sure, you might say the same things about iowa St. or Kansas St. but to my heart it is different. Now I am a big Red guy through and through, and I will support the team and learn the new conference...and I am glad we told texas to F-off... but something about this just doesn't feel right to me.
  9. anyone who blames crouch has a short memory. He was AMAZING that year. He had almost NO support and basically made us a national title contender on his own will and desire. he was also TOUGH! He was blasting defensive players on almost every play and getting up knowing that he was going to have to do it again on the next play because he was the entire offense. The man would stay in bounds just to crush another guy and pick up another 2 yards. We have not seen anyone as tough on offense since the day he left. he didn't do well in the pros, and he made some comments that were head scratchers--but don't let that take away from his play. The man was clutch in college, and if he was on the team last year we are national champions (and easily, in my opinion)
  10. love this post. We can be very proud of what this team has done. can they be better? sure--and there are at least 117 teams saying the same thing...but this team is Nebraska Football.
  11. Pelini said he supports Nebraska's effort to promote defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh for several national honors with the unveiling of a Web site, www.suh93.com. “I think that's part of the deal,” Pelini said. “I know there's no Bo Pelini site, so that's a good thing.” *** Do you think this is a dig at coachcallahan.com ? Probably not, but I would like to think that it is.
  12. 7-3 at half--what nebraska fan wouldn't take that? lee vs Green?? Put Suh and Henrey in at QB=game over. Those guys are studs!
  13. end of 1st quarter 0-0... as a nebraska fan, who wouldn't take that?
  14. this defense is as good as any defense I remember watching. amazing work on that side of the ball.
