  1. Isn't that what our offense did before the Callahan West Coast Offense experiment?
  2. Did you just call his mouth a c@(k holster? Thats hilarious. I did..................... I can't wait to use that one...giving you the credit for it, of course.
  3. That makes two of us. I can think of a lot of crappy games in all white, and no good ones...
  4. Yeah...just came back from two scores down at our first road game and took the #7 team into overtime. The kids played their hearts out, and I for one appreciate the effort, desire and heart they showed. Nothing special...just another in a string of pessimistic, defeatist posts.
  5. With that much time left, 99% of coaches would take the points. It was a great call, obviously planned earlier since the field goal team came on the field so quickly. Great call...
  6. Lil red is about as ugly as the clod head that was the mascot in the late 60's-early 70's. I'm with Cy...Lil Red is the real reason that Nebraska football has fallen on hard times!!
  7. This is why they actually play the game...
  8. Wow...there is a well-reasoned, cultured post. These things always go in cycles. Right now, Missouri is a better team than Nebraska. Later on, Nebraska will be a better team than Missouri. Do I hate Missouri? Nah, I reserve that for Notre Dame and Texas. Pinkel could have hung 70 on us last week, but substituted liberally. Ozzy could have scored 70 or 80 on Missouri several times, but substituted liberally. Good luck the rest of the year, Missouri. We'll play you again next year. And the year after that. And the year after that.
  9. The coaches aren't the ones on the field. The coaches don't miss blocks or false start. The coaches don't hold. All the coaches can do is teach and motivate, they do not play the game. The coaches are doing their best, as are the players. People just need to relax. Yes but it is the coaches job to make sure the players are ready to execute. That happens at practice and is dictated by the coaches. Look there's enough blame to go around for both the coaches and players. It's a combination. That kind of teaching goes on in spring and fall practice, and practice before a bowl game. During the season practice is geared toward game-planning for the next opponent. This coaching staff has only had one spring and one fall to work with these kids. And we have to remember, only the one performing can prepare themselves to perform. It is ultimately the player's responsibility to prepare himself, motivate himself, and go out on to the field and execute. This is what I really believe to be the difference between the previous Nebraska staffs and Callahan's staff. Callhan recruited atheltic ability, and the previous staffs recruited athletic ability and attitude.
  10. Wow! Truer words have never been spoken. How can any player on that field blame the coaching staff for a loss? The coaches aren't the ones on the field. The players are. Apparently can't accept the fact that the other team was better and more motivated. Maybe the kid should get out of the social scene and into the weight room or film room.
  11. And Ganz in the hospital from all of the blitzes that will result.

  13. God, I hope you're not as close as you were this week... I hate to predict a score, because one of these weeks we'll get things together, or will catch one of these high-ranking teams flat. But I also know that Leach will score as often as humanly possible as he may be one of the most classless coaches in the NCAA. TT 49, NU 28
  14. I agree with the rest of your post. But, Bo himself said his gameplan was garbage. It's not treason to agree with him, is it? If Bo himself said the gameplan was terrible, what's wrong with postulating about what a better gameplan would've looked like? Just because one asks such questions doesn't make one a bad fan or impatient with the coaching staff. It may not make you a bad fan, but it does make you impatient with the coaching staff. This was only their fifth game with a new staff, and were playing against one of the best teams in the country. Believe it or not, their opponent last week was and is one of the bette teams in the country. Everyone who thinks they can gameplan better than the coaching staff needs to go to Pelini's office and tell him what to do.
  15. Nope. It's execution, not scheme. Execution. I always has been and always will be execution IMO. I don't care who is coaching. Unless it's Howard Schnellenberger. I can't even know if I spelled that right.
  16. Speed on defense. You can scheme all you want, but you can't teach speed.
  17. I have no problem with anything that Pinkel did. The backups were in and were just running the offense. I also have no problem with what Pelini did. He's trying to show the guys to keep playing until the end of the game. We just got hammered by a better team.
  18. I'm going to say that I agree with this post. True, these are Callahan's recruits. But doesn't this excuse seem very familiar from 4 years ago when we were getting trounced 70-10 by Texas Tech and going 5-7? Now look at how that turned out. The fact is, this team has not improved even a bit since Western Michigan. Well, they've had one spring practice session and one fall practice session. That is where you teach skills. Practice during the season is geared more to the upcoming opponent. If we can get to 6 wins, and we likely will, we will be invited to a bowl game. Then we get that extra month of practice. Then we get spring practice again. That is when you will start seeing better results.
  19. Come to practice this week and show'em how to do it...
  20. This is why the program will be better over time. He doesn't consider himself a "genius" like Callahan did. If you are impressed with this, just think how the players feel...
  21. I would assume that the coaching staff does that.
  22. Well, I think all of you criticizing the coaching staff and players need to march right down to practice tomorrow and let them know you're not going to take it anymore. Then you need to go out there and show them how to run block (since it is so simple) and how to tackle (since it is so simple). Sit Pelini down and tell him how disappointed you are in his team and tell him how to run it. While you're at it, go into the weight room and show the guys how to do a power clean (if you know what that is), and then go to Ozzy's office and tell him what needs to be done. Petersen and Callahan had four years to screw this up. It will take at least that long to be able to compete with the big boys again.
  23. The team will be fine. Just relax, enjoy the game and remember that it won't be too long before Nebraska is handing Missouri their asses again. If you want to get mad and yell, go to the stadium and yell at Pelini in his office. Just let me know before you do it, I want to watch.
