  1. I still lurk around here from time to time. Unfortunately, my office-based workload has increased about 30 fold since last season, so the time I have available to devote towards flitting away my life on the internet has dwindled significantly. Then again, maybe I'm just waiting for the Huskers first loss to start running my mouth again. Really, who knows?
  2. Booshe. KU needs a turnover or a special teams touchdown sometime soon, otherwise they're cooked.
  3. Let's not confuse our Hawkinses with our Manginos, here. The man-hawk is a BEAST!
  4. Dear Tom Osbourne, Have you seen your fans recently? Sweet mother of maria, the LAST thing they need is to funnel more hotdog revenues into your pocket. Sincerely, The 49 other states
  5. What can I say? The offseason threads on here were rotting my brain... I had to do something. Huskerboard abstinence was my only available option.
  6. Dear Nebraska fans, Thank you most expressly for the spending money. Sincerely, Mike Bohn
  7. Where the hell is TuffTiger? I'm really feeling the need to hear his opinion on this... or anything, for that matter.
  8. If there were going to be a traveling trophy, they'd either have to only write scores on there from games played since the trophy was created OR just not have any scores written on there at all. The overall series between CU and NU is too lopsided to write it down on a trophy. It'd look ridiculous. It's only been over the last 20 years that the games have really gotten interesting.
  9. It's a Thursday night game... honestly, I'm not sure if that'll make things tamer or not.
  10. They stopped selling beer at Folsom in 1996. The luxury boxes sell beer though. They don't sell it, they just stock it. Can't leave the luxury boxes with beer though, so there's no way to get it to fans in the general admission areas.
  11. GAH!! I knew we wouldn't make it to the second page without that damned story coming up!
  12. Oh, they haven't sold beer at Folsom for years... probably over a decade by now (they don't even serve alcohol at Mile High Stadium when the Buffs play the Rams there early in the year). Kids really can't get away with anything in the student section at CU anymore - a couple of years ago some buddies of mine that were sitting with the students got caught drinking out of a flask that they'd tucked inside a glove (that trick used to work like a charm when I was in school ). The impressive thing though is that they weren't spotted by the crowd control/security guys nearby, they were caught by security up above the luxury boxes who had apparently either been watching them with through binoculars or with surveillance cameras. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about the whole thing... it's nice to see this bad rep CU's had start to go away, but I feel like they've taken things a bit too far...
  13. This thread's been up for a few days now, and while my precious Colorado Buffaloes have gotten a couple of half hearted mentions, we haven't gotten the usual "my girlfriend got thrown down a flight of stairs and then Bill McCartney personally peed on her while slashing the tires on my car" treatment... What, are we losing our touch??
  14. Yes, and your grammar would've been way gooder too.
  15. HA! That's hilarious... nicely done on that research!
  16. John Cooper and Bill Callahan are about as similar to eachother as a pair of tube socks and a grapefruit. Cooper was a fantastic coach (111-43-4 record while at Ohio State), he just couldn't beat Michigan. Nice try though
  17. Uhh... Louisiana and Ohio ARE loaded with local talent. Mind you, they don't have as much of it as the big 3 (California, Texas, and Florida), but they're both amidst the leaders of the second tier (somewhere between 4th and 10th nationally every year). Check last season's production: Louisiana - 11 four star recruits, 26 three star Ohio - 3 five star recruits, 14 four star, 33 (possibly more, the list cuts off at 50) three star Now let's compare that to Nebraska: 1 five star, 1 four star, 5 three star. That's it. Seven Nebraska players that would be seen as viable prospects by most programs in the country as opposed to 37 for Louisiana and 50+ for Ohio. Oh, and if your intended point was only that California doesn't have any local talent... uhh, well... I'd like to direct you to the recent successes of USC as well as the fact that last year the state produced 40 four and five star recruits. Just because they didn't happen to go to LSU or Ohio (who as noted above, have plenty of top shelf recruits in state to keep themselves successful) doesn't mean that California doesn't crank out top quality athletes better than almost any other region in the country. My apologies for poo pooing on your sarcasm parade, but if you're going to make a comment like that you should probably check the statistics beforehand to make sure that your implicit point is actually a valid one.
  18. For the record, Miami pulled in the #5 class nationally last year according to rivals. Florida was #3, Florida State #9, South Florida came in way down at #54.
  19. You know, I think the possibilities of a company called "Rape" or "Date Rape" buying the naming rights are pretty slim, I sincerely doubt we'll ever have to cross that bridge.
  20. Well, Bonography could be a biography of U2's Bono........ You tampered with my post, charlatan! That's why I put the hyphen there, "Bo-nography", to avoid confusion regarding Bono. You had no right to usurp that hyphen, that was MY hyphen! Then again, I don't think many people would pronounce the unhyphenated "bonography" as "bahn-o-graphee" anyway... well, not many people outside of Nebraska, that is.
  21. Yeah, well Colorado doesn't have the kind of booster support flowing in that Nebraska enjoys. 15 million is little more than a drop in the bucket for your athletic department, at CU that kind of money can make a massive difference. For the record, they aren't scrapping the stadium name outright. Rather, they're looking for someone to plaster their name to the stadium in conjunction with the preexisting title, so the end result would be "Qwest Park at Folsom Field" or something akin to that. I'm not ecstatic about the idea, but I'm willing to accept it considering the financial bind the Colorado athletic department has been in for the majority of this decade.
  22. Bo-nography would be a more appropriate term. "Bornography" sounds like porn with babies in it.
  23. Do you have any links to those interesting stats?? I don't remember seeing us in the top 10 in recruiting (ever) and saying we're more fully stocked than 98% of the rest of the D-1 programs in the country??? Let's see 98% x 120 teams..That's only 2.4 teams better stocked than us? Wow! I feel better about winning it all this season. http://rivals100.rivals.com/TeamRank.asp?p...0&year=2007 There's the 2007 Rivals recruiting rankings where kNU ranked 13th nationally, there's a drop down menu at the top that will let you see the 2006 and 2005 rankings. The 98% comment was an exaggeration, but my point should have been pretty clear regardless... there's a hell of a lot of programs out there that would love to have a "bare cupboard" like the one Nebraska's got right now.
  24. AND one of the biggest busts in NFL history, let's not forget about that.
