  1. Then i guess we better quit trailing at halftime then eh?
  2. Per Callahan - Watson and BC shared playcalling duties today. Callahan called most of the plays in the second half. Ah so that is why we didn't score in the second half. Maybe just maybe callahan should quit calling plays.
  3. Come on, he is doing an EXCELLENT job. He said so himself. You know i bet some fans could jump BC and kick his ass and no one would report it. lol. just saying.
  4. Yes i know you said no changes would be made but this season could still be salvagable if we got rid of BC and his staff. Who knows if we have an interim staff what could happen but i believe we are better off with a new staff at this point then to let him continue coaching. BC is probably tanking on purpose and i wouldn't put him past it. I mean no one would hire him as a HC now after he has destroyed two teams. Yes you got rid of one loser now the other one needs to go.
  5. B)--> QUOTE(Husker B @ Oct 20 2007, 03:11 PM) 245849[/snapback] I didn't want Pelini back then, and I don't want him now. I want a coach that has proven to be an excellent head coach in college football. the only problem with that is they are all taken. We are more than likely not gonna get a proven head coach. Just take a page from the steelers and hire a new young guy who hasn't been a head coach before. I really dont see a probelm with pelini or gill. It would suck if pelini became a head coach somewhere else and did really good, especially win a national championship.
  6. same thing could be said for people who leave the game early because of the score.
  7. Don't you mean he played BC ball???? BC sat on the ball more than solich. Remember wake forest this year?? basically sat on the ball with like 7 minutes left and only a 3 point lead. BC had more of a tendency to sit his ass on the ball whenever we got an early lead and hoped we scored more points.
  8. Solich's 5th year. 7-7 lost to Penn St. 40-7 lost to Kansas St. 13-49 lost to ISU 14-36 And after that season he canned a bunch of coaches, made changes, and won. Cally didn't even do that after ending up below .500 You are correct. Solich canned the coaches after his 5th and before his sixth season. I suppose he could have fired them mid season, but nobody can say what effect that may have had. Don't get me wrong, I am not putting BC up on a pedastal, I just answered the question. Both did tank those seasons. Correct? Solich could have fired the whole O-line, coaching staff, and his mother and hired the pope and Thomas Jeffeson, but that wasn't the question. Sure their are extenuating circumstances, but those exist for Solich AND BC. I am not going to let my dislike for one cloud my judgement. So if we get blown out and are competitive for a quarter or half, that would change your mind about BC? No i have never liked BC he is classless. What i am saying is at least Solich had nebraska still in the game at half time unlike BC.
  9. Solich's 5th year. 7-7 lost to Penn St. 40-7 lost to Kansas St. 13-49 lost to ISU 14-36 At least in those losses they were competitive the first half and didn't play like they didn't care. Plus those losses aren't as bad when you still make a bowl game unlike this year unless things turn around real quick.
  10. I think the Big 12 North is improving. I think that it is good that the big 12 north is improving. the better the north is, the better and more respect the cornhuskers get. There are just not motivated to go out there and play....which is something you would think a competent head coach would do....but i guess bc doesn't give a sh#t so we got our asses handed to us.
  11. hopefully it will be before the end of the year this time!
  12. Because Solich lost a few games by big scores. Keyword being a few. He still at least had a .500 record one year and didn't stop the husker bowl streak like cally has done since he has been here. at least Solich was competitive for at least the first half. Cally is not competitive it all. I could never understood why this loser was ever hired as coach.
  13. Coz did make adjustments it's just that they don't work. lol. That was reported by a sideline reporter coming back from halftime of Missouri.
  14. I thought the same thing. When ran correctly , it is a beautiful thing. I had Eric Crouch flashbacks . That could have been the beer I guess... I don't remember Eric Crouch pitching the ball that much. He didnt need to. Yes he did need to pitch. He fumbled in big games too damn much. He never gave the rb's a chance to run the ball on option.
  15. They both know their asses are on the line.
  16. Sigh, what could have been... Yeah, I sold some stock at $10,000 once and a couple years later it was worth $40,000. What might have been will never be. He still isn't a head coach, by the way. That may say something. Just says no one wants to give him a chance that's all. He did pretty good in the bowl game we played. Plus there weren't that many head coaches jobs open at the time anyway.
  17. I have to disagree with your entire post. He is very emotional, and I've seen it many times. Actually, sometimes he has been too emotional and that is what has thrown off his game in the past. If you're implying that all the other players are having a pity-party because of who their QB is, then this is a huge problem. This isn't junior high football. You play your ass off for your team, no matter who you like or dislike. If WR's are purposely dropping passes because they're pouting that the backup isn't starting? They should leave the team immediately. This isn't a f'ing popularity contest, it's NU Football! I really doubt this is what is happening, but if it is, then shame on them. The defense has nothing to do with Sam Keller. These guys should have about a billion other things to be checking in their football soul, and the least of it should be what Sam is doing. Keller isn't 'rusty.' He is learning a new system, and up until Sat., had been showing consistant progress. And make no mistake: Keller is not immune to the body language and emotions of his team. He could be sucked down with the rest of them, and he maybe was just as upset by that as with his own play. How do you perform well when everyone else has given up? Ok i respect your disagreement but college football isn't like the nfl where your team could drastically change because of money. I mean lets face it next year is another starting point because we will be grooming a new qb to run the offense. What about the other players that are juniors and will have to go through the pains of getting a new offense running smoothly if at all. Football is a team sport and especially college football is about emotion. Keller may not play D but that doesn't mean it doesn't affect the defense.
  18. You know this 100% because??????? It's easy to say we would be 1-5 without keller. I could say if we still had taylor we would be even better because i know he would've tore into the offense right away. Yes keller has stepped up but seems to me he like callahan in his post game comments.
  19. Then keller needs to step up and lead the team. I don't think it would be fair to say we would be 2-4 if not for keller. No one knows how good the backup qb's are. Yes i did watch the texas tech game a few years back and then chuckled when we played usc at their house and he got conservative so he wouldn't get embarressed. Now i am not sticking up for callahan or cosgrove. I have never liked callahan since he was the coach of the oakland raiders. but i would start a ganz to see how the team responds. who knows they may start playing better.
  20. Could be. I mean some people may have seen what he did as a quitter. It could affect the team in differenty ways. No i guess i didn't see that. but i would say it is about time he got pissed off about something.
  21. yeah scout team is quit a bit different than playing with starters.
  22. I know most of, if not all, like sam keller. But i do think he is part of the problem. Every time i watch him play i don't see any emotion from him on the field. All i see him do is go through the motions. He isn't a team guy. He quit Arizona State cause he wasn't gonna start then transfer to nebraska and then be the starting qb without having to work for it at all. Yeah yeah callahan said the qb spot was open but everyone knew keller was gonna start no matter what. I do think a lot of players are pissed about because he is not really part of the program that all the other players are. he was a new guy that was gonna be a starter. I find it hard to believe that in one year we have players that don't seem to want to play. Why didn't this happen when Taylor was starting qb and why after 4 years is this all of a sudden players no longer want to play? I think other players see keller not as a true husker because he is only here for one year then gone. I know we lost people on defense but the defense shouldn'be be this bad. I do think it was a complete waste to get keller when we could've had other qb's starting for two years or more. To have them get more experience playing in the WCO. I mean at least Ganz played sparingly mop up duty last year so he woudn't be as rusty as keller seemed to be. I don't think it is pure coincedence that the football team all of a sudden goes downhill when keller gets the starting qb job.
