  1. That is SO WRONG!!! Way to take that glimmer of hope and crush it dead with your bare hands.

  4. At least this way the CG shippers don't have to search to find their guy.
  5. Calberry, Mickelson, and Sopp were the bright spots of the night, keeping the Huskers in the matches when it seemed Leuthold and van der Meer just couldn't get lined up on the pair to be in the pocket consistently. Redshirt freshman Mickelson, subbing for Laugerman rolled 7/7 strikes before being tapped on her eighth ball, going a touch high leaving a solid 4 pin. Coaches Straub and Klempa look to have a solid four returning next year, and looks like Sopp is comfortable enough with her game to step up in a leadership role next year. Overall, the women have to be proud plowing through the losers bracket to get to the finals. In the end, they couldn't overcome the powerhouse of FDU who seemingly could do no wrong, even on errant shots. Pin count and carry was the name of the game and Nebraska came up on the short end of both. Congrats to Leuthold and Henning for a great career here at Nebraska, and good luck in their future endeavors whether it be bowling professionally or business.

  10. Indeed. If one understands the game they will love to watch it and everything about it. Wow what a pretentious statement! Baseball couldn't be easier to understand if they wrote the rule book in crayon. And given the intellectual capacity of many pro athletes, I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Can't post this here but LMFAO. (language)
  11. Click HERE to watch the Huskers live today at 11:30AM when they take on Arkansas State.
  12. CG shippers will be in full if Martinez passes him up.
  13. I noticed the same thing. And before Ron Prince got to KSU, Bill Snyder built that program into a national power using a lot of JUCO's. I don't think you can blame last year's offense on JUCO's. Lack of developing the younger players has some merit but not number of JUCO's. My whole point was from 2005-2007 the coaching staff basically quit developing players -- opting to bring in JUCO's instead. During his tenure, BC redshirted just barely over 50%, whereas the former coaching staffs were redshirting 70%+ of incoming freshmen. This is why we could just "reload" from year-to-year like Texas does now. After the 2008 season, we are seeing the glaring deficiencies caused by bringing in JUCO's the past 4 years to play offense here under Callahan. Bo was basically left with good athletes, but none of them developed. Seeing the number of JUCO's taken by Bo and his staff the past couple years, he recognizes this too. You have to be able to build players from the ground up and shore up some of the spots your thin at with JUCO's. BTW, Snyder only had a couple of good years. The rest were mediocre at best. You could always count on KSU choking like a cat hacking up a furball when the game meant something. When you think of national powerhouses, even during the '90s, the name Snyder was barely a pimple on T.O.'s backside.
  14. You're close. McBride came into the program in '77 and retired in '99 (22 years). He started out as our DL coach before being promoted to DC in '81. Tenopir, Epley, Darlington, Melton and Fischer along with T.O. hit the 25+ year mark though. Arguably, we've probably had some of the greatest defensive minds to come through here at one time or another. Monte Kiffin got his start here as a GA under Devaney ('66-'72) and later DC under Osborne ('73-'76). Father of the often imitated "Tampa Cover 2" defense, Kiffin's philosophy is one of the most influential in modern college and pro football. Charlie McBride's evolution from the 5-2 to the 4-3 defenses that dominated college football from '94-'97. Bo Pelini's stint in 2003 making a drastic change in defensive output. And now with the Pelini Wrecking Crew adding a few more wrinkles in a defense they claim can top last year's..... When does the season start?
  15. The big knock on Gilley is because of his speed and footwork. He has a hard time running good routes and staying in control. If he can tighten that part of his game up, he wouldn't have such a hard time catching the ball.
  16. Does anybody really think Paul Rhoads will hang around Ames if he has another 1 or 2 good seasons there? Answer....NO unless they are willing to lock him in for a long term deal with some big $$$ attached. Hawkins is gone no matter what he does this year unless he happens to win a Big 12 Title. CU's AD Bohn will pull the ripcord on Hawkins if it even looks like his job will be in question for coming years. Tuberville will be fine at TT. However, the school's administration jobs may be in jeopardy if Tuberville doesn't perform. Advice to Craig James and his son Adam -- transfer out. If the Red Raiders lose to any of the weak sisters of the Big 12, James will be hiding in that famous closet to escape the pitchforks and torches coming for him in Waco.
  17. Are they too damn dumb to use the Yellow Pages?
