  1. Wyoming is also the place that Devaney boarded the train to come to Nebraska.
  2. Yep. So. Not him. All those were in regards to the 2011 matchup. This was 2013. There was someone I recall. I think it was just freindly banter, but I recall us pretty much being pretty overconfident in Martinez going for 300/150 and 4 TD's every week.......... I definitely remember that, too. I may have even been one of the overconfident ones. There were comments like dvdcrr's "mop the floor with your @$$" comment in this very thread. I believe the general feeling was that we were going to beat Wyoming pretty solidly in 2013. Too bad Brett Smith & Co. didn't get that memo. FIFY
  3. Nothing to see here folks, just move along
  4. He's gonna have a rough year next year I think
  5. I dont think we could have done any better, and truthfully thought we were going to do much worse. His first season is going to be a meat grinder though with visits to Oregon and Michigan State.
  6. Can i change my name as well id prefer brownNgold thats what i go on all other boards.
  7. Im honestly hoping we can get him. If anything his ability to develop quarterbacks should entice Smith to stay for his senior year. (Smith could graduate at semester and transfer anywhere with out sitting out a year). Plus it could hopefully open a pipeline to Cali recruits. Hmmmm.so Smith could transfer you say? Interesting....very interesting! Figured that little tidbit would catch someones attention.

  9. Bob-father was Outside of him. Most recently would be Joe Tiller He was 39-30 at Wyoming, I wouldn't call that successful. But, to each his own. for a team that is 221-255(.464) all time, unfortunatly successful here means being over .500

  11. What do you guys think, could he be successful in Wyoming?
  12. Good game Huskers. Anyone here how Martinez is? Hope is arm is alright.
  13. For a 28 pt dog, some of you like to run off at the keyboard quite a bit. Hope i didn't offend you or anyone else. I'm just here for a little friendly banter.
  14. Alright so here is my theory on how Wyoming wins First: I have noticed Pelini struggle against mobile quarterbacks. Brett Smith is fairly moble. To make up for a poor running game Wyoming will rely on Wr screens and fly sweeps with players like Heron and Miller. 2nd: Huskers play down to there opponent like they have in the past. You have all seen them get to the red zone only to punt after 5 penalties in a row. Maybe a fumble or int thrown in for good measure 3rd: ? I don't know. Maybe the huskers play the second string. But that hasn't happened in years. Seriously does Martinez have a backup?
  15. TCU beating Wisconsin in 2011.... I'll give that to ya. Georgia of 2012 and 2013 is not Georgia of 2011. They were a good drive away from playing for the national championship. And Utah beat Michigan in 2008 and beat Bama in 2009. But honestly, so what.... you guys got embarrassed by Boise State last year and 2011. You guys lost to TCU in 201. You guys got embarrassed by Utah in 2010. By the way, you also lost to us in 2011. Since 2011, what would you consider to be your single defining victory? Ours is easily defeating Ohio State (a team most people are predicting will be playing for the MNC this year) with the biggest come back in school history, playing against an actual Heisman contender. Since 2011, that would have to be the win at San Diego State in 2011(or 4 straight victories over Colorado State, but it doesn't fit the time line). Is that glamourous to you, I doubt it. You asked how Boise, TCU, Utah, and some other Utah team that i won't mention compared to Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. and i simply pointed out in the most recent head to head match up Mountain West teams both former and curent won those matchups. I did forget the Boise loss to Michigan State so you got me there. For a 28 pt favorite some of you do get riled up fairly easily.
  16. TCU beat Wisconsin, Boise beat Georgia not to long ago, oh and Utah beat Bama and Michigan. Michigan State beat Boise, we beat Michigan State. Winner! Are you seriously trying to make a point about teams playing one major game and winning being comparable to Power Conference teams that play top opponents week in and week out? i just cherry picked a few head to head match ups. Obviously your schedule is harder than Wyomings
  17. Yeah, you guys would never lose to a 6 or 7 win team like Northwestern, Iowa State or CU. Just in case you guys don't remember, Wyoming is right next door. A lot of us are kind of familiar with Neb and their history. Those are all BCS schools. How does that pertain to Wyoming? Yeah, we only play pee-on schools the past 10 years like Boise St, Utah, BYU and TCU In what universe do those schools compare to Wisconsin, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan state, South Carolina, and Georgia? TCU beat Wisconsin, Boise beat Georgia not to long ago, oh and Utah beat Bama and Michigan.
  18. That's kind of what I meant. We're what? 30 point favorites? Wyoming beating the spread by 20 points still gives Nebraska a 10 point win. In any case, I think Nebraskans are good about supporting their team, we just don't get ridiculous pie in the sky fantasies about glorious success that our team is not realistically capable of. This is simply how Wyoming fans role. Don't take any offense to it. We have been the best team running between January to the end of August for the past few decades. Don't try and sway our emotions with stats, facts, and prior results. We are undefeated right now, this is the pinnacle of our season.
  19. Nah, the reasonable fans there are predicting a pretty decent Nebraska win. They're just drowned out by the guys looking for reasons to hope. And you can't blame them for that. In fact, it'd be nice to see more of that staunch support for Nebraska here. Too often the need to be "reasonable" or whatever overwhelms simple fandom. It's pretty weird - as if it's somehow wrong to openly root for the team you root for. +1
