Why? changes up players if for no other reason, gives the offense a different look and gets him some experience. Obviously that's what this year should be, if we aren't going to win, at least get them experience and game time.

He just gives a new meaning to the word humble. Everytime I hear an interview from him, whether it be as Coach, Congressman or AD. I just feel humbled, in a good way. Probably a slip of the tongue, because he wouldn't do or say that on purpose, not that kind of guy.

I think they played 100% better than what they have the last 3 weeks. They played with heart and emotion. They weren't cocky, it was pound football. Granted it got away in the third quarter but at least they showed up today. Some of you, I swear could get a million dollars tax free and you'd complain about having to go pick it up.

Turner Gill lived in Lincoln for a long time -- longer than I did, and I still go back to visit. He was visiting. He has an excellent relationship with his former coach and boss, who is -- even if he hasn't coached for 10 years -- an offensive genius, organizational mastermind and outstanding motivator. I'd take notes, too.

I usually do not like posting on another team's site, especially a Husker site but I cannot refrain. The reason is very simple, you love going onto Netbuffs or Allbuffs and talk a bunch of crap and bash CU fans religously yet here you are trashing your gear. I do not like Nebraska but I respect their traditions and their fan base for they have been solid. Now is the time when you really see who has the resolve to man up and show support for a struggling team. Last season when Colorado got embarrassed and lost to Montana State I still had my CU sticker on the back of my truck, I still wore my CU T-Shirts and I live deep in the heart of SEC country where people think there is no such thing as football west of the Mississippi and north of the Mason-Dixon line. I take my ridicule and abuse like a man, because I support my team when we win or when we lose. You not only embarrass yourself with your childish behavior on other people's sites but now you embarrass these people here that still root with undying affection for their Cornhuskers. Honestly, I do not want Nebraska to suck, at least for not too long , I want them back in the Top 10 and I want Colorado in the Top 10 and I want to kick your rear ends on the day after Thanksgiving, this is what college football is all about. I want that game to matter and mean something. AND He's a buffs fan. He gets what it means to wear your colors with pride not matter what. Thanks BeachBuffs!

I live 30 min from WI, 3 hours from Iowa City and Ames. I wear my red and white, everytime I go out. And everyday I get someone saying don't you know where you live or we are going to have to convert you, this is Husker country. Well too bad, won't happen, I will wear my Husker stuff till the day I die

I have family that goes to every Husker home game and most of the aways. They said at the OSU game it was bad, lots of booing, Pedey had to have a police escort, and lots of name calling for the people that were still there. A&M though was alot better, they said still a little booing but the cheering drowned out the booers, which I thought was great and they thought was great. They said there were people yelling things but security took care of it.

Hey, he's being honest, as far as I'm concerned that's a point in his favor. And he don't have many of those right now. But at least he's being honest. Your talking about 18 yr old kids coming her, some thousands of miles from home. They will look to the coaches and team as family, if that coach isn't going to be there then what. Do you think TO didn't tell recruits that he was going to be retiring so they wouldn't be playing for him?

I still don't think it's the players. If the coach doesn't show heart and fire how are the players? They would have to be self motivators and not listen to the people who they look to, to guide them. I will not, ever, nor have I ever boo'd the players. I couldn't do any better and even tho they are in there early 20's they are still kids and still need guidance. You don't see a 25 yr old graduating college and becoming a CEO, how are they supposed to become coaches, which is what they would have to be in order they, themselves to turn it around. My opinion only.

Good article. I think it's right on. He doesn't connect with the players. That's why TO had the success he had, his players would have run through a wall, into fire etc for him. I don't see these players doing it for BC
