  1. I thought it was funny. I work with a bunch of Iowa fans, my girlfriend is an Iowa fan. I absolutely hate Iowa, but yes, we've all been waiting 15+ years to return to the glory days and it hasn't happened.
  2. You guys do realize that Tommy was the reason we won as many games as we did this year? He put so many games on his back.
  3. What is wrong with people? We just bounced back and beat a good team and we're 8-2. Learn to enjoy things sometimes. Until we're Alabama, some people will just not be happy.
  4. I seen that too. #56 looked like he was punching Newby Yep. He was hitting players. Not the ball. Yeah, #56. I thought it looked like there was no way he could be hitting at the ball, but who knows. You don't really have a good angle.
  5. Facepalm I'd rather Riley burn POBs redshirt than use Fyfe..ever again Yeah, let's put our true freshman QB in who hasn't played on the big stage EVER. What could possibly go wrong.
  6. Why is it unnecessary? I'm not being argumentative, I'm just genuinely curious. I don't know the reasons they decided to schedule them. Maybe no one does or there is no reason, but I have a little bit of more faith in humanity than that.
  7. I have no idea why people are flipping out over the recruiting aspects of this decision. Yes, home game visits are an important aspect to recruiting, but it's one home game over a 3 year period. It's not the end of the world. Because it IS a big deal. So, just because? Many recruits want to see the game day experience. We have signed some of our major recruits over the years because they come in to town and experience that. It truly is something special. A home game on Friday night completely eliminates that game as a visitation game. We are already behind the eight ball in ability to get kids on campus to experience Nebraska. We don't need more going against us. Another thing. It's not even just visitation. These kids have games on Friday nights. They won't be able to see us play live like many of them like to do. That takes away from recruiting also. On top of all that, Friday night games are just flat out stupid for college football. I think you're making a mountain out of a mole-hill. You're kind of taking the stance that this has a downside, so regardless how big or small, it's a downside and thus bad. I agree that I don't like it. It interferes with high school football, although a lot of high schools schedule random Thursday night games. My only gripe is I don't understand the reason why and I don't understand why certain schools were given amnesty.
  8. Unless you've donated serious booster money to the program, it's kind of ridiculous to be upset. But that's just my opinion. And if you are a serious booster, you probably have better mediums to voice your concerns than a fan forum.
  9. Being thrilled that Tommy's ok, and being upset with what transpired, aren't mutually exclusive. We were getting clubbed before Tommy got hurt. That opening drive set the tone for this game. Sort of but didn't NU drive right back down, eat up like 6 minutes and cut it to 7-3? Yes, but running 3 plays from 3 yard line and failing to get 6 pts. was pretty telling I said this in another thread. Yes, we were getting beat pretty bad before Tommy went out, but it was manageable. We were moving the ball and had potential to score on the drive Tommy got hurt on. If he doesn't get hurt, we possibly make it a 14 point game and possibly change the momentum of the game. Instead, Tommy get's hurt, we turnover the ball on downs in their red-zone, and they march down and score more points. Fyfe is a good quarterback, but it's been a while since he's had game experience.
  10. The closer you are to the student section, the better the atmosphere IMO.
  11. It's kind of dumb that they don't print actual obstructed view information on each section, but I wouldn't risk it unless someone you trust vouches for the seats. If you're in sections 1-8 or 21-31, I wouldn't purchase tickets above row 40.
  12. That's all fine and dandy. Concussions are also a hot button issue in football, so I'm leery to assume that this protocol is infalable. Read the guidelines. Basically, every year, all athletes undergo a concussion test. This sets their baseline. In order to begin the step-wise evaluation, they must pass the test administered to the standard of their baseline. If he has any sort of vertigo or dizzyness, he wouldn't even begin the step-wise evaluation. Once the step-wise eval starts, he'll begin practicing at reduce level. During this time, he'll continued to be asked about all the symptom questions, and also continue be evaluated on his original base-line. He will not be cleared to play until he reaches the final step and passes the evaluation. If he is cleared to play, then he will start. If he isn't cleared to play, then he will sit. So to your original point, the possibility that Fyfe would start, and Tommy would come in at the event of Fyfe failing just isn't possible.
  13. I do not think the defense played well from the start, but you need to also consider a few things. Our offense didn't move the ball at all after Tommy went down. Our defense basically played the entirety of the 2nd half. -------------- NU First Drive: Pick 6 on 3rd play. NU 2nd Drive: 15 plays, Field Goal OSU First Drive: Starts at OSU 43 yard line. Defense gave up on average 5-yard per play, with big conversions coming on 3rd and 20. TD NU 3rd Drive: 5 plays, Punt OSU 2nd Drive: 9 plays, TD. Again, couldn't stop the run. Big penalties. NU 4th Drive: 3 and out OSU 3rd Drive: 9 plays, FG. Started at our own 31, so this is actually a good stop. Score at this point is 3-24 TOSU NU 5th Drive. We go 3 and out again, but are given a gift from the OSU return and recover a fumble. Tommy drives into field goal range and goes out on the sideline. We fail a 4th down conversion. At this point, if Tommy doesn't go out, it's possible it becomes a 10-24 ball game. Completely manageable. Instead, we go out on downs on the OSU 15 yards, and they drive 85 yards over 15 plays for a TD. ---------------------- I'm sure the defense was pretty deflated at this point. Instead of being down 14 in a manageable situation, we're down 28 without our best play maker on offense. This also opens up the playbook for OSU. They're basically able to snowball their lead, including taking bigger risk on offense. I had mentioned earlier in a post last week that tOSU likely features the best offense that we've seen, so I'm not surprised that our defense didn't perform as well as they have been. Couple that with everything else, and yeah, they look terrible.
  14. 4th and 1*. Our 28*. JT Barrett was signaling he wanted to go for it. (Later on, they'd take a field goal where JT Barrett was upset about again not going for it on 4th down, resulting in a delay of game). And all of that aside, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't care if Meyer kept the starters out the entire game and hung up 100 points. This isn't Pop Warner. This isn't Jr. High. This isn't High School. This is college football. These are D1 college athletes. Complaining about running up the score just means you're bitter and need to vent. In the end, you sound like a whiny bitch.
  15. He had on scrubs when he walked into the stadium. Right, but he wasn't in cleats. He had sneakers on even before he changed into the black hoodie. (This is what I thought about instead of the game) Looked to me like he had on yellow hospital socks.
  16. Im not saying take a knee on every down...im talking about going for it on 4th down You're up by 4 touchdowns, and it's 4th and 3. Do you kick a field goal and score unnecessary points? Or do you go for it, as even if you don't make it, it doesn't really matter? Maybe you should consider the fact that it has nothing to do with class, and what you are being a proponent for is basically that the coaches meet at mid-field and agree to just knee the ball for the remaining 15-30 minutes left in the game. I'm not any sort of Urban Meyer fan, but he really did nothing wrong.
  17. Listen, Excel. You're the worst. You're crooked and you're just a terrible, terrible individual. ok? Don't even get me started on you. You brought Nazi's into the discussion. How dare you. That's like, the worst thing you can do. Ever. Shame.
  18. The amount of logic this post lacks gives me a headache. So they went for it on 4th down and converted. Maybe our defense should stop them. Besides, why should they kick a field goal instead in that situation? I guess they should just kneel it every play, right? I'll never understand getting upset about a coach choosing not to quit playing the game...but f#*k me right. HuskerMAv11...You obviously missed the whole point of the post but then again, considering that you just post to piss other people off, I would not want to waste my time on idiots like you. Lets just say...Yes, You are right HuskerMav11, You are always right...The Ohio State fans are full of class and urban meyer is beloved by everyone. Are you happy, now? I'm just wishing you would enlighten me really. For one, you think Urban Meyer listens to the chants of his fans and makes decision based on that? I never said they're full of class, I just stated that you really shouldn't get all butt hurt about what you are getting butt hurt about. But your demeanor is 100% "everyone I dislike or disagree with is a douchebag", which, coincidentally, kind of makes you a douche..
