  1. If you go to Huskers.com -> football ->schedule/results (don't look at the results)... Upper right is a drop-down box with the upcoming years and the scheduled games. (not all of them) Looks pretty set through 2009. Included 2012/2013 w/UCLA, 2010/2011 w/Washington
  2. Probably so... and as a fellow Mizzou alumni, I'd love to see it. But - he's the only coach USF has ever had, he's a superstar in the Tampa area, he just signed a 7 year, $7 million contract - and the previous contract went through 2009. So he's locked up to 2016. And he gets to recruit in Florida - one of THE hotbeds of high school talent - and right now he's doing it as the #2 team in the US of A. Why would he be interested?
  3. Yes, my judgment is clouded by my alumi-ness... but I think the MU defense is much improved from the beginning of the season. OU got 21 of 41 points off MU offensive turnovers. (compared to 14 by MU). However, both teams know how to light it up. Gotta make sure I got extra beer on hand for this one.
  4. I thought Alabama too, and she (the reporter said "a front runner", not the front runner. And... we're talking about a 17 or 18 year old, so who knows? I've never heard him dis Pinkel. I 've always thought he wanted to be in the lime light, and thought MU might not be the place. Their play of late may have changed his mind. MU/TT on ABC - Sat. 2:30. Tune in for the shoot-out!
  5. Does everyone realize that this book is written by an undergrad and it's self-published? Going this route you can say anything and no one - no editor, for example - checks the veracity. You don't buy it from a publisher... it's just a printer.
  6. Per the St. Louis Post Dispatch Mizzou beat writer:
  7. Huh? What's that mean? Bo's not CLEAN?
  8. I think it's John Daly... Oh, and I say Vince Lombardi at the Lincoln airport this afternoon.
  9. Genuine question, since I've only live in NE for 1 year: What traditions did Callahan light on fire and then piss on the ashes? (not including winning football games.. that's a given).
  10. I wasn't trying to say that Pinkel is a great coach (although it might turn out that way)... in fact I'm not completely satisfied with his first few years - but he and the program are progressing. I was giving examples of coaches in the conference or with Big 12 history who were hired without any prior history with the school or the program. And yea... everyone wants top 15 every season. Doesn't always happen though but for a handful of shools. And with scholarship restrictions, it get harder every year.
  11. Mea Culpa. I didn't check what Moore was doing 30 years ago. You got my drift though.
  12. I can tell you for certain that Gabbert is attending the Mizzou game this weekend - an unofficial visit. A St. Louis Post Dispatch reporter said he had a conversation with Blaine's dad. Only said they were attending the game.
  13. Muschamp is on a lot of radar screens, and with good reasons. He's put together great defenses LSU, the Dolphins, and now Auburn. Smart guy.
  14. I'm curious about the demand, almost certainty, that the next head coach be someone who once played or coached here? Doesn't it make more sense to look for the best possible person for the job rather than limit your choices so? I'd be looking at places like Boise St, maybe Appalachian State, may the N.E Patriot offensive coordinator, etc, etc, etc. Stoops had no ties to OU, Pinkel no ties to Mizzou, Leavitt had no ties to South Florida. Why is everyone obsessed with either Gill or Pellini? A Tiger fan wants to know... (And I root for the Huskers when they're not playing Mizzou- and the volleyball team every match - even tonight.)
  15. And MU National Champions T-shirts are still build your own And that...is A LOT funny!!!! Hey! We won Baseball in 1954! The the Golden Girls won a national championship too! (And the T-shirts really are $2.00)
  16. BlackShirt 2007 t-shirts are only $2.00 at the apparel shop across from the stadium....
  17. IMO, the first thing NU needs to do is sit Sam Keller down. He's been intercepted in every game he's played this year - 11 in all - and seems to have no fire in him at all and no leadership ability. Give Ganz a chance. And keep those freshman running backs in too. If Callahan goes with the SOP, you'll see another loss. I must be slow today, but what is "SOP"? SOP = Standard Operating Procedures. Callahan is too predictable. That's how the 95th rated defense (MU) kept them out of the end zone.

  19. Um...why? Harvey's hand was forced by the boosters--he didn't do this of his own volition, as much as he'd like to claim/have us believe. Add to that the mistakes and problems he's made on the Academic side of the University of Nebraska (allegations of fiscal impropriety, the whole illegal alien acceptance issue, significant losses in research grant money and scientists, declining standards, highest tuition hikes (percentage-wise) ever in one Chancellor's watch, and declining student population), and the masses are already at the gate, just waiting for an excuse to tar and feather him down on downtown "O" Street. This is one of those few instances that the firing/release of this twit would serve both the academic and athletic portions of the University of Nebraska at the same time. So don't thank him for something he was forced to do--all he did was just save his own skin and paycheck, and nothing more. The question is how long did Harvey hold off the proverbial masses at the gate? Maybe so but the man finally did something right. Could you step in and run UNL. There is more going on, than we know about with the running of a University. Show some MANNERS. Harvey hired the guy, and just 3 months ago gave him a 5 year contract extension. Yesterday, he spent over 2 million to get rid of him.... kinda strange. Did Pederson change so much from June till now or was Harvey caving to boosters?
  20. Seems that if you fire Pederson for "lack of progress with the football program", you won't keep the guys responsible for football operations. Harvey may want the interim AD to decide the timing.
