  1. ok, whats your point? You won a game 2 years ago, what does that have to do with Pinkel's job security 2 years from now or the recruitment of Zach Hannon? Came here and shared accurate information, not to get into a dumb pissing match
  2. Visit on Monday is with Mizzou commits Anthony Sherrils and Nick Ramirez (who I'm sure you are all familiar with) as well as with Jamone Boyd. Sorry to come on your board and flame but posts like this are just stupid.
  3. Still funny, scoreboard, forever. This. +1 to you, my good sir. I'm feeling generous in my drunken stupor. Another thing, who even came up with the whole classy thing about our fan base? I know of no such Husker doctrine proclaiming us as a classy fan base. uh how about on the gates to your stadium?
  4. Not so funny now, right? What a classy fanbase you have here.
  5. Produce a citation and quote for this please HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA
  6. The Taylor martinez incident will haunt Bo Pelini for the rest of his career because of recruiting. Every single coach who competes with pelini for a recruit will pull this out. It's a guarantee.

    Enough!

Ease off the panic button a bit. Were you this panicked when we joined the Big 12? If not, why not? The money is better in the Big 10, both athletically and academically. The prestige most certainly is there. The ability to make Nebraska a better educational institution is most certainly real, and has recent examples of success. Speaking strictly from an athletic point of view, we would benefit in football by rubbing elbows with three of the top seven teams with the most wins in college football - four if Notre Dame joins. That would make, including Nebraska and Notre Dame, five of the top seven teams all time in one conference. That's a heck of a football pedigree. And as we've seen with Oklahoma, Nebraska, USC, etc, just because a program is down now doesn't mean they'll stay down when they have the kind of fan bases and support structures like a Michigan. ND adds some sizzle to be sure; I just don't think they're coming on board. My concern overall is that NU is leaving its roots, which is the western edge of the midwest and even south (NE, KS, CO, OK) to do this deal. Texas to a lesser degree. If our college kids can't attend road games without catching a flight, then something has really gotten out of whack. I also think that we have some neighborly responsibility to our other midwest friends that we have shared a conference with for a long, long time. KSU, KU, ISU, OU, OSU, and CU to a lesser degree. I feel genuinely sorry for programs like KSU that are in even more isolated markets than Lincoln, and I feel we owe them more than this. The Big 10 might be a better deal financially and with the "prestige", but that league isn't Nebraska culture and won't ever be. Square peg forced into a round hole for a grab for cash and perceived prestige. I don't like it. As for the Big 12 formation, I liked it because I thought the geography was still a good fit and that some new rivalries would be born. And the Texas culture fits very well with the Oklahoma, KS, and NE culture. We certainly have a lot more collectively in common (agriculture, farming, ranching, and energy) than any of the rust belt states. There is a lot of commonality among the Big 12 schools - bullying by UT athletics aside. Cash grab? Yes, its a gigantic boost in revenue for BOTH our schools. In the long term, remaining in the Big XII is SIMPLY NOT financially viable if our ADs would like to remain nationally competitive at any meaningful level. Nebraska currently brings home 9 million per year, Mizzou around 8.4. Northwestern took home 14 million. Not to mention the immense academic benefits of joining the conference. There is no substantive reason to remain in the Big 12, and doing so would be a short sighted choice driven by nostalgia, not rationality.
  8. Quality post on the tigerboard about the ultimatum: http://www.tigerboard.com/boards/missouri-tigers.php?message=7622992 here's what we tell the conference on Friday at 5:01 p.m.- Tiger'89 We are currently members of the big 12 and have a contract that binds us to whatever extent it is enforceable and has not previously been breached by the league. We cannot and will not forgo consideration of any future opportunities deemed to be in the best interest of OUR University and we will do so as we deem fit. Oh yeah and KISS MY ASS!
  9. Here's that article: There is only ONE REASON this announcement came from the Big 10. That reason is that they want Nebraska, and quite likely Missouri as well, to join the conference. Without the "ultimatum" delivered by the stuffed suits in the Big 12, this turbocharged timeline doesn't happen. Suck on that, Beebe. That's my interpretation as well. The infamous orangebloods article that dropped the pac-10 bomb also had a snippet that said "The Tigers already have one foot in the Big Ten. But Nebraska has no assurance it will be invited to the Big Ten and could be left completely out of the power conference structure if it's not careful." Now, I'm not sure how he can so confidently state that the Tigers are a B10 definite, but I do think that he's correct that Mizzou does have slightly better traction with the B10. But all in all, i think that before the end of the summer both of our institutions will be members of the Big 16.
  10. actually... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/big-ten-meets-will-likely-speed-up-timetable.html
  11. What do the missouri message boards have to say? Tigerboard.com has set up a giant banner at the top of the board that says "MIZZOU UNDER FIRE: BIG XII ULTIMATUM COUNTDOWN" with a timer counting down to 5 PM friday. We are 100% in favor of going to the Big 10, and the main thing worrying us is if Notre Damn gets invited and the B10 stops at that. But really as a fanbase we're sold with being a Big 10 member, we're sick of texas and beebe's incompetency.
  12. The Big 12 can survive losing one of us. They cannot survive losing both of us. I hope you guys stick with us and go to the Big 10, if only to say eff-you to texas.
  13. If this scenario came true, I would probably kill a human baby
  14. Visited MU this weekend. May be considering switching his commit from Illinois to MU. Correction, he has switched his commitment to MU after this weekend. Are there any dbs or athletes that are going to be switching positions? As has been the case w/ pinkel in the past, WRs who don't quite cut it are highly encouraged to move to the defensive side of the ball
  15. Usually followed by why the hell did Ganz throw that comment. Maybe thats just me. best reply ever
  16. I seem to recall a certain Nebraska game where the huskers were the yarn. not so offensive when its your team doing it is it?
  17. Pinkel pulled the classic stoops manuver... Happened to Mizzou before the Big 12 championship game last year, you just have to deal with it
  18. If it helps- Last year vs Texas Tech Mizzou- 41 Texas Tech- 10
  19. 3 worst days of my life: 1. Fifth down game 2. That game 3. The day i found out my girlfriend was cheating on me
  20. I never heard what he said...but if he called the official a CS, he is lucky he didn't get ejected...and I probably wouldn't argue with that ejection, no matter how wrong the official may or may not have been on the Suh penalty. Not entirely sure but i believe its a reference to Bull Durham where Kevin Costner calls the ump a ****-sucker in order to get thrown out. Or maybe Bo actually did call the ref a ****-sucker.
  21. What exactly does this mean??
  22. it is readily apparent Chase Daniel is not playing in this game
  23. normally i don't come on to other message boards to talk smack but good god. next week will be ugly
