thats kinda a fair-weather idea isnt it? on that note.. since when do you have to be a big-name coach or big-name coach potential to be good? He has taken a HORRIBLE Buffalo team and gave them an opportunity to compete for the MAC title.. only losing a chokehold on it with a 31-28 at miami of ohio.. he has ties to nebraska and understands what is important.. we wouldn't have to worry about him leaving for any other job that came available if he succeeded..

to be completely honest.. i asked a couple of them tonight if there was any talk with callahan being fired or stepping down.. both just simply said no.. and that he is their coach... these two would be Keith Williams and Phil Dillard.. i'm sure these are two pretty reliable sources since it was posted by channel 3 in omaha.. but the players are still saying (for now) that cally is their coach.. hah.. and Mike McNeill said that the offense is doing great.. its the defense that sucks.. just on a side note..

hahah.. i'll take that as a personal shot at me.. since i pointed out its possible.. note i didn't say i think it will happen.. but you cannot rule it out until we are mathematically out of contention.. last time i looked.. 6-6 is bowl eligible..and that IS a possibility.. not that it will happen.. its just possible..

yes players are important.. but i think we have quite a few that are here already.. getting a coach that is a good fit is a much higher priority.. it is not unusual to lose around 8 recruits during a coaching switch.. so we just have to take the hit..

was it really slander though? i mean.. pedey n co did destory everything.. so maybe it was more of a prediction that became very true? damn.. that sucks

from what i understand.. when rome said that the honorable thing to do would be to resign.. that was from a cash aspect.. as in he wasn't deserving of the money being paid to him.. so why should he keep it? and that is the sense that i agree with it.. i think that cally should announce his resignation on monday after the colorado football game.. but that is just my opinion..

yes.. because the last coach was really that bad.. the one season he had with HIS OWN STAFF.. he goes 9-3.. and that staff helps him finish out 10-3.. recruiting was looking much better.. the offense may have not been the best choice.. but at least we were still a decent program.....

don't know if i ever stated this on here before.. i may have.. but i dont remember for sure... if we are going to have someone who is not a proven as an athletic director in the past.. why don't we get someone like Jeff Schmall? Former top dog in Huskervision.. and now the Associate Athletic Director under Bill Byrne at A&M.. he has ties.. he has some experience with handling these things.. just an idea..

how about if pelini comes in.. we have watson as our OC? but he wouldnt be a horrible choice.. i'd just like to see watson personally

TO will hand pick the new AD for the most part.. and the HC chosen by TO will be sticking around.. and TO said himself there is no timeline for his withdrawal from the AD position.. he could be around for a few years until everything in the athletic department becomes stable once more...

For all of you that say Kugler.. is that simply because you WANT to hear him doing this? or because you think he will take the job? if the you truly think he'll take the job.. please explain, i haven't heard this p.o.v. really and would be interested in hearing it..

ok.. here we go... THE CURRENT RECRUITING CLASS CANNOT BE THE REASON IN THE HIRING OF A HEAD COACH. ok.. now that that is said.. i am assuming it wont be very long.. pedey had a list of coaches.. but none of them wanted to come here.. thank god for nutt.. and dammit mr. meyer.... but seriously, getting the RIGHT coach in here is MUCH more important than salvaging what is rest of this recruiting class..

Would be interesting. I think he has a pretty good gig with Westwood One right now. Every Saturday with Terry Bowden. Of course maybe the travel would get old. Geez....should be an interesting show today. Tuesday press conference, Rose stepping down....I can't wait to hear what they have to say today on 1620. what the hell was up with today's show? Kevin avoiding the situation like a bad case of herpes... all that guitar talk... why did perlman avoid the new AD situation.. why do any coaches that are "in touch" with other teams ever say "i haven't talked to them" or anything of the sort... you think he doesn't know a lot of people want and some EXPECT him to take this job? if he wanted it, it is more than likely his.. i am not certain this is the case though.. as previously stated.....

We will not go to a bowl game. That is a moot point now. Callahan has said that he will not resign and Osborne has said that he will not fire. So we are in a stalemate until the postseason. Do you live in a cave or just a real poor listener? actually.. we are not out of contention for a bowl game.. so i see it as a possibility still.. we are playing against a kansas state team that is not good either.. they have played their share of close games, but they are not good. i think some seniors are going to want to go out well and hopefully our fans will support them and cheer the whole way.. and we pull out a close, high scoring win.. then we go to colorado.. that is a huge rivalry game.. anything.. and i mean ANYTHING can happen.. if we could pull that out.. we are now bowl eligible.. and if either KU or OU were to make it into the NC game.. that opens up another bowl tie for the big 12.. all im saying is its not a moot point at the moment.. its a possible situation.. its not like what had to happen for the rockies to make the playoffs this year....

however, the guy was nothing but a suck up.. he jumped the pedey bandwagon from day one and had no problems switching the day he was fired.. rose is not the worst guy in the history of radio.. there are worse.. but he was bad as a football and baseball broadcaster.. and he was every bit as bad if not worse with the coaches shows.. they became unwatchable for me after he took over....

anyone just watch the nice little rant by Rome? I've always liked Rome. not always agreed with what he's said.. but i like him and how he puts things.. he could not have hit the nail on the head anymore.. our D did quit.. and cally should resign and forfeit the rest of his paycheck as it is the honorable thing to do.. although it wont happen.. it would be the proper thing on his part... oh well 2 more games.. hopefully a 3rd if we can pull off a couple of upsets.. although the 3rd would probably not have the same HC...

hahah amen ... i mean.. when was the last time that a team from the north actually MADE it to the cws.. let alone do any damage.... oh whoops... and isnt football supposed to be a cold weather sport? if i'm correct... the majority of kids at some point WANT to get the NFL.. well at least the big time recruits.. and isnt playing in the cold kinda getting them ready for the rigors of the NFL late season and playoffs?

You're not the only one, and I doubt it's a typo since many people spell it wrong. If it was a typo the U would be next to the O which it is not or it would be next to the R which it is not. You plain spelled it wrong. um... no.. its a typo... things dont have to be right next to each other.. especially when your listening to something else... on another note... dammit cally is up.. :|
