  1. I don't get why people think that he will show loyalty to a program. Watson will do what he thinks is best for him and his family not the program. (That's the way it should be) Fans are loyal to the team, players and coaches are not.
  2. The only thing I like about Preseason Polls is when a team isn't even ranked and ends up in the Top Ten at the end of the year. I like watching under rated teams climb the polls.
  3. ESPN has Nebraska starting at 8 in the Big 12 Power Rankings http://myespn.go.com/blogs/big12/0-1-140/B...s-top-spot.html
  4. I think Callahan left us in good standing. I agree he was a bad coach, but he left nebraska with a lot of talent. The offensive and defensive lines are going to be very good this year. Ganz looked great the games he started last year and I believe Lucky is going to have his best year with his talent and the line. And I may be optimistic but I don't think our defensive backfield is hurting that bad either. Sure we do lack depth, but with the D-Line and experienced players like Dillard, Asante, and Murillo, without injuries, the D will be good. Plus, Pellini is one of the best defensive coaches in the country. A good gameplan can make average players look great.
  5. didnt the official pick up the flag and then throw it back down when he scored. I don't know about that but I believe this was the play where the Omaha World Herald Showed a frame by frame set of pictures and it showed the block in the back but it wasn't anywhere near the play. I believe they were debating if the call should be made because the play was already so far down field when the illegal block was made. Not sure though.
  6. Rivals has an article about (came out today) him saying that he is still high on Nebraska as the scholarships are rolling in. Sounds like he really likes Pellini and he wants to come for a visit. I would post a link but you have to have a membership to read the entire article.
  7. Thanks, that was what I thought but this guy was telling me that their was talk of it going on in Omaha. I thought he was blowing smoke.
  8. Another reason why the games don't appear to be as loud as the Duke, and KU games the students are all along the side lines (at least one side) of the games not underneath the baskets like at UNL. Also I have never been to a game at KU or Duke but I thought that some of these other schools seats are built to make it fell like the crowd stands over the court. The students at Duke, UNC, and Kansas are right on the floor. The crowd at Devaney is up off of the floor. However, the history of Nebraska Basketball doesn't help. I think that as the team gets better the students will follow. Also, crowd support has always been awesome at Nebraska especially for football. However, I have been to stadiums all over the Big 12 and numerous professional stadiums. And Nebraska is the only stadium where I have been told to sit down when I was cheering for Nebraska. (Because the Guy behind me was sitting and he couldn't see with me standing up. Both games were big games. The first one was against. N.D. I was lucky to end up with awesome seats and my dad has never been to a big game at Memoirial Stadium so I took him. He was standing through out the first quarter and at the end the guy behind us started complaining and asked if we were going to stand the whole game. The other was during the Missouri game a couple years ago. I came back and was cheering for the defense. I was in one endzone and the guy behind me started yelling at me saying the D can't hear you when they are at the 50. Nebraska has the longest sell out streak but Memorial Stadium isn't one of the loudest .
  9. I knew how the NCAA Hockey situation works as of now. But, he was telling me that the NCAA was considering changing it all together to resemble something like College World Series and that Omaha was being looked at as a possible host sight. I didn't think that their was any truth to the whole stroy but I was just checking to see if anyone else has heard of this.
  10. I currently bartend in So. Cal. and I recently had a gentleman from Nebraska that came in and said that Omaha was trying to work a deal to have the NCAA Hockey Championships there every year. I have never seen or heard anything about it. Has anyone else every heard anything?
  11. I haven't heard a lot about him but, I would assume that his dad was a Husker he might be someone who we might want to target. The only school that is listed under his interst on Rivals is LSU.
  12. Looks like for a strong finish. Ward just committed, Dennard Yesterday, Rogers cancelled his trip to LSU the night Bo did an in-home visit, and it is looking really good for Wald!! (KNOCK ON WOOD).
  13. Rivals has him switching his commitment to NU. He is N.
  14. Wald has a verbal offer but he is having coaches visit on Thursday, and they will make the offer formal. The way it sounds is that the only reason why he hasn't committed to nebraska is because he wants to stay close to home. I hope that he committs he looks awesome.
  15. I just want people here to know that a member of the Husker Family, Tressa Thompson, was on Intervention last night for her addiction to meth. If you don't know who she is she used to throw the shot put for N. She at one time was ranked #1 in the world. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers to stay strong. The show stated that she has been clean since Oct. Hopefully she can continue living a life without drugs.
  16. I do think ratings are a little over rated. Who really knows how well players will turn out. But, it is nice to see that our class is very solid. I think that considering Nebraska did a complete overhaul of the coaching staff and had the worst season I could have imagined our recruiting class is outstanding. I mean Missouri and Kansas had one of the best seasons they ever had, and their classes aren't that much better than ours. (We are rated higher than Kansas) I admit their classes look good but not head over heals better than ours. Plus, we are still going to add more players! These coaches are doing an outstanding job so far, and I couldn't be more excited for the fall.
  17. I love the fact we kept Compton. But, having a coach getting a tattoo on his arm to get me to go to school there would creep me out. Even if it was temporary!!
  18. I was wondering if www.huskers.com if the best place to watch Bo Pellini's show when it comes on? I am just looking for the best place to watch it on the internet.
  19. Oregons facilities are not better than Nebraska's, but by no means are Nebraska's head'n'shoulders above everyone elses anymore. They have all caught up. Granted Nebraska is still in the top Ten and probably always will be but, Oregon's facilites are pretty cool, as is the stadium, small but pretty impressive. Plus they have culture out here, you say culture aroud lincoln and eveyone thinks you are talking about something having to do with cows. Have any of you guys actually seen Oregon's facilities? I played football at Northwestern (Big Ten), and have visited Oregon's campus. I can say they are at least on par with NU's, if not better. Phil Knight (founded of Nike) sinks millions and millions of dollars into their athletic program. In Oregon's locker room, each player has his own recliner and flat-screen TV for watching game film. The entrance to the football complex looks like the lobby at the Waldorf-Astoria, complete with a waterfall. In addition, all of their equipment is top-of-the-line Nike gear. Because Oregon is one of the few schools in the nation with Nike "Experimental Status," Nike debuts all of their football equipment prototypes at Oregon. For example, Nike developed a cooling/heating system within a player's shoulder pads. On the sideline, the players would hook an hose into their pads and cool/hot air would filter through a system in their pads and regulate their body temperature. I can understand why kids would choose Oregon if they put a lot of weighting into a school's facilities when deciding. NU does have amazing football facilities, but I don't think any program can match the "wow" factor of Oregon. I have always heard the same thing about Phil Knight and Oregon. Oregon is supposed to have the best facilities in the country. I live in PAC 10 country and everyone talks about how Knight gives a lot of money to the athletic department to make sure the facilities the best. People who visit Oregon are nothing but amazed when they see their facilities. But, I have never seen them myself.
  20. Hawaii's travel budget has to be high, but last week I was listening to Dan Patrick and he had June Jones on. June Jones said that Hawaii's recruiting budget was only 50,000 dollars. I wonder what Nebraska's is. June Jones said that he doesn't think that their recruiting budget is a quarter of what Georgia's is.
  21. I don't actually think the University will lose money playing Hawaii. The game will be on TV, ESPN will probably pick up tha game since it will be on so late. A lot of Hawaii's games are on TV because they are the only game still going. The question is are you going to stay up that late to watch it. Ane the stadium will be sold out. Besides I live in California and I have been to Hawaii a lot. There are a lot of husker fans here and it really isn't that expensive for Californians to go to Hawaii. The last time I went my plane ticket was 280 and the hotel was only 110 a night. Four of us went to surf and see Pearl Jam open up for U2 at the last minute and we still found those prices. As far as food and everything it is like anywhere in the world. If you stick to the tourist areas the food and stuff will be more expensive. Everything is a little more expensive but it isn't that bad. I will be going for sure if the game is scheduled. I can believe it about the fans being rude, Honolulu isn't one of the nicest cities: drugs, gangs and crime are actually kind of high. The education system is bad. Also, a lot of people talk about how some native Hawaiins are still upset about the way they have been treated by the U.S. So there is still some bad blood there. As many times as I have been there I have never had a problem, but I know a lot of people that have lived there or are from there and they say white people can have problems. However, the only problems I hear people have are certain surf spots are for Locals only. If you surf there without permission you get chased out of the water. I don't know if it is because they are still upset or if they are mad that the beaches and surf spots are over crowded so they save the best ones for themselves. I would guess that it is the overcrowding that gets them upset.
  22. As I have said before this just stupid and it's a disgrace. EVERY NEBRASKA FAN should be embarrassed. I know it is good for SDSU, but it really stinks for NU. It does nothing more than show everyone in the U.S. that we will schedule one good out of conference game and then scrape the bottom of the barrel because we are too scared to play legitimate programs with the rest of our games. When did powder puffing our schedule become apart of the Nebraska Tradition? I hope to god Washington is good by then and not at the bottom of the PAC-10 (a conference in which many on this board think is overrated).
  23. I believe Christian is down here in So Cal around the Laguna Beach are coaching high school football.
  24. The only thing that I heard was that Justin Thompson (Current teamate of Simi Kuli) had LSU as his top choice but hasn't commited anywhere said that if Nebraska gets Pellini, Nebraska would move up. But, who really knows where he will go.
