What about Georgia Tech's Def Coordinator??? There was talk that if Les Miles went to Michigan he would bring the GT Def Coord with him.. Name is escaping me right now, but GT's defense has been sick the last few years... there o just sucks... any thoughts???

I just find it odd.. let me talk this one out and see if I can make sense... the athletic department calls a press conference for Monday right... alright so if it's regards to a coach then people are involved, agents, lawyers, etc.. right... alright so you figure TO and few AD people along with the chancellor know who this new coach is going to how come nobody is leaking know what I mean??? I mean all these rumors about how my dog took a crap and it was pointing east and all that crap and my uncles dead aunt's friend.. I just find it odd that there are so many people in this right now and we don't have one credible source spilling their guts... hmmm...

Actually per College Gameday and Lee Corso :asshat he says his sources say that Turner Gill will be interviewed for the position and he think Turner will be the next HC at Nebraska.. I mean I think Turner has done a hell of a lot for the program coaching the qb's all those years and everything but making him the head coach after only one or two years HCing at buffalo??YIKES.. Just my opinion

Actually, Rathman was said to be the OC, and Frost is one of the defensive assistants, and to be used for recruiting walk-ons in Nebraska area. He was a DB in the NFL, and has some coaching experience. He's a smart guy, and his parents are coaches. The candidate for DC being named is Mike Stoops from Arizona. The only thing I question is Rathman as OC. I have no idea if he's qualified. I also question whether TO would dictate who the assistants are. I would think he'd give Bo the choice of who he wanted. Spiderman here's what Rathman has been up to Thomas Dean Rathman (born October 7, 1962 in Grand Island, Nebraska) is a former American football fullback who played for the San Francisco 49ers (1986-1993) and the Los Angeles Raiders (1994). He is currently the Oakland Raiders running backs coach and was hired by head coach Lane Kiffin. He currently resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with his wife and three daughters. I say since he's a RB coach in the NFL he should get a shot at OCing but offering the job to him over our current OC..... hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Seeing Rathman as RB coach would be awesome.. As mentioned above I do question Frost as DC but I guess he's been coaching D for awhile and I know he played some D for J-E-T-S....so whatever.. What about Wistrom though.. I know he's coaching high school ball right now but what about bringing him over as a D Line Coach or something... MIKE MINTER FOR SECONDARY COACH!!! What about the O LIne Coach.. Wonder who they're looking at for that position..

I'll throw a few names up there.. . Jim Leavitt---University of South Florida, pretty much took a piece of crap program and turned them into the #2 team in the nation... Also was a d coordinator at K State and I believe he was a LB coach for ahhhhhhhh someone.. can't remember the team. Greg Schiano--Rutgers, again took a program that went down the crapper turned it around and made it very competitive.. very high energy.. That and I'll throw in the usuals... Pelini Muschamp....

My question is other then Bo which coaches would Nebraska target??? I mean Bo has some roots to Nebraska so he would be an obvious choice but which other coaches would Nebraska look to when interviewing??? Also if memory serves me correctly when Solich was let go and Pelini took over after that bowl win against Mich State a lot of people were interviewed for the HC position and a few people turned it down.. Will this job search be different????

I guess I"m jumping ahead but obviously a coach will be named by signing day. The new coach will be the big attraction to recruits. I mean look at it this way.. If UN does go out and get Pelini all the defensive guys in the country will look at playing for a guy who's quite possibly the best defensive coach in the game today.. I would want to play for him if I had athletic skill on the defensive side of the ball..

Real happy to hear TO is back in Lincoln running things and hopefully turning around the team this year... In my opinion I don't see BC making it through the offseason...He'll prolly finish the season up with UN but in my opinion I think they will get rid of BC and go in a different direction.. As I was thinking this morning about possible replacements the first name that came into my head was Bo Pelini. He's currently a defensive coordinator for LSU but as we all know he used to run the black shirts under solich.. any other thoughts???
