  1. I dont think we need to be to worried about Pelini as a recruiter. There was lot of talk on this board about how Pelini doesnt like the recruit and how some people were worried that if Pelini was the guy he would not put enough emphasis on the recruiting. Well after hearing that press conference today i dont think we need to worry about Pelini putting an emphasis on recruiting. He made it quite clear that he plans to get the ball rolling on the recruiting process imidiately and will work very hard to bring in some great players. I think now that Pelini is NU's HC/CEO we will find out how great of a recruiter Pelini is.
  2. Why would we want him? Well i am pretty sure that everyone would agree that Trev Alberts loves the University of Nebraska. I dont know what the requirements are for these jobs, but no matter what job Trev Alberts has, I will guarentee you that he has UNL's best interest at heart. So he might not be qualified for the AD position, but i would like to see him take some sort of job that he is qualified for cause he would do what is best for the university. Hey maybe with is commentary experience he will be the next voice of the huskers. I wouldnt mind having Trev Alberts calling games.
  3. What this does is make the offensive coordinator position very important. I think Pelini will take a more hands on approach on the offense but wont dictate what goes on. Osborne called the offensive plays and was involved in the defense, but the defense was ran by Charlie McBride. So Pelini will run the D but will be involved with the offense to some degree (more than Callahan was involved with defense) and the OC will ultimately run the offense.
  4. The BCS is a joke and everybody knows it. Even the guys running the BCS know its a joke but they will not change it because they only thing that matters to the BCS guys is money. It is true that the BCS does a lot of good for a lot of people, however it does no good for the people that are actually playing the game. So until someone who actually cares about football and not about the size of their wallet or if someone can come up with a way make the money these bowl games do with a playoff system we are stuck with this joke they call the BCS.
  5. Doubtful. He hasn't even recruited any of them. Are there any good articles on this? I've been wondering what kind of recruiting record Pelini has and what his recruiting role has been at LSU. I actually looked at the previous two LSU classes and the current 2008 LSU class on Rivals and it tells you who the recruiter was. Of those three classes Pelini is associated with only one player in the 2007 class. Jeremy Crabtree did address this a few days ago by saying that Pelini hasn't spent much time out recruiting and spends the time on campus developing his defense. It is true that Pelini doesnt do alot of recruiting, but as a head coach i think he will give alittle more of the defensive duties to his DC and spend more time as the CEO of the team, spending time on recruiting, and making sure our offense is on track. If Pelini doesnt do this then he will probably end up like Callahan and be unemployed in a few years. So if Pelini does become our next coach i think he is smart enough to know we need some defensive talent and hopefully some the of the LSU recruits like his style of defense and Pelini can convince them to come to Lincoln even if Pelini didnt recruit them to LSU.
  6. Just look what Javario Burkes and Anthony Blue did in there limited action. Freshman can be useful for things other than Special Teams (Even though they can really be good on there). Just a few guys who come to mind that were under used in my opinion... -Prince -Niles -Rickey -Major -Holt Niles and Holt didnt get played a lot because we are stacked at WR. Niles was redshirted also, why screw up a redshirt on a player that we will be able to utilize now for 4 full years. Holt will be a good WR, but I dont think was ready this year also. I beleive if you play at all you lose your resdshirt(correct me if i am wrong) and Niles Paul played this season and even caught one ball against Nevada. I dont know why BC burned his redshirt for one catch in a blowout.
  7. The biggest hit has to be Tom Ruud on the Oklahoma kick returner. Here are a few other great hits that i have videos of: - Ruud's hit at 0:35 and again at 1:49 -Wymoing QB broke in half at 1:30 -Texas A&M kid lit up on block at 3:00 http://youtube.com/watch?v=SUftsNR9Rkk&feature=related -K-State kid decapitated on block at 4:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VykWmBkhBzc -Joel Makovica levels Dat Nguyen http://youtube.com/watch?v=HEL7SkmLHXU&feature=related -This is a great video especially the first half of it, i think this video has almost every hit that has been mentioned -There are a bunch of awesome hits from 1:18-1:45 (Kordell Stewart lit up at 1:18, Grant Wistrom cruches OU player at 1:35, Mich St guy leveled at 1:37, Wyoming QB split at 1:42, K-State player's helmet knocked off-1:43, Mich St. QB blindsided at 1:44) These are some good ones.
  8. Your explanation is essentially that Nebraska can't recruit with other top teams in the country. The problem is, that argument can't explain how we were able to bring in top recruiting classes the past several years. It's not because we've been immensely successful. We haven't been in the BCS spotlight in a long, long time, and still we competed with the top teams for recruits. The "old historic college with tradition" counts for something. So do great facilities and an immense, loyal fan base. The problem to me doesn't seem to be getting kids to play for Nebraska, the problem is getting a coaching staff that can get them to play well. Maybe you can make the case that the coaching change will hobble our recruiting for the next couple years. I can buy that. But to argue that we can't compete with Florida, USC, LSU, etc for recruits because we're not currently a "BCS spotlight program" is just inaccurate. well, Notre Dame, for one, has brought in several top recruiting classes as well...and they dont look so hot to me. I believe that the "star rankings" in recruiting magazines is a bit off...so you must take with a grain of salt all the top school recruiting rankings IMO. So i dont care what the ranking say, but i will tell you USC, LSU and Florida have FAR BETTER players on their teams then Nebraska. If you cant see that, then your judgement is clouded by your fandom It is always interesting to hear what people outside husker fans have to say cause that lets me know what the perception of NU really is, Boxer you just got bashed but you have to realize that you are in hostile territory and husker fans are a little fragile right now after what Billy C. did to us so you might get some overreaction. Having said that i would like to respond to some of your statements. Kids these days that are looking at colleges to play football do not remember or care about the old historic colleges with tradition This might be true that kids that live outside the midwest dont know much about NU and its tradition. But you cant tell me that when you bring these kids in and show them the trophy cases, the heismen trophies, the all-americans, all the acedemic accolades that these kids dont get a feel for what NU tradition is like. A lot of our recruits and players right now dont really know what NU tradition is, and that is Callahan and Pederson's fault for not embracing NU's tremendous past. Trust me the next coach to come in will embrace this tradition and once again it will be a great recruiting tool. Also if kids just want to play football then according to you, Nebraska doesnt have much talent and all these players could play football right away. The real great football kids want a chance to play in the NFL, and right now, Nebraska is not that kind of program. When NU was great back in the 90's what kind of NFL players did we have, NU didnt have All-Pro QB's or All-American WR(besides Irving Fryar). No we made our living on O-Linemen, and RB's on offense and then we would recruit great D-ends, LB, good cover corners, and ball hawking safeties. Callahan almost did the exact opposite and tried to get great QB's and WR's, which is not going to work cause those kids are going to the Floridas and USCs. I dont want to go back to 30 options a game and pounding the FB and RB, but NU needs to somewhat get back to their roots and go after the great O-Linemen, and RB's find a hidden gem to play QB(there is plenty of those in TX-Chase Daniel, Todd Reesing), not a NFL prototype. Then focus on defensive recruiting. it is going to take AT LEAST 4 years before you will see any improvement from that football program. I really dont beleive this at all, it will probably take NU that long or longer to get back to the National Championship game, but we will be much improved in the very near future. NU has a lot more talent than what showed up on the field this year, mostly becuase of the coaching staff but part of that blame falls on the players, next year the coaching staff wont let this team under acheive. If you want to know about the talent we have i refer you to one of my earlier post (LINK) Solich was what, 9-3 when he was fired, and people were really taken back by that This is a good point and it really did hurt NU's reputation among the coaches of the world. However the man who fired Solich, his name was Steve Pederson, was fired half way through this season, and then was replaced by Tom Osborne. I guarentee you alot of coaches would love to work for Osborne because they know he would give them time, and that he knows exactly what they are going through. Kids want the sure thing and Nebraska right now is not. All these kids that are looking for a sure thing, I hope they go to USC and Florida, cause then they will jsut bring those programs down instead of bringing NU down. I dont want kids who just want things given to them, and dont want to have to work to become #1. I want a kid who is willing to work to get back on top cause that is what NU needs to do right now.
  9. HAHA WOW that could be the best thing i have ever seen. A visual aid for all those people who still cant read, but some how know how to type.
  10. Mel --- I am with you. Put Dillard in the middle Asante at Will and Culbert at SAM --- and have L. Washington and RSFreshman Stafford backing up on the outside. I do not like this idea at all, I think Asante should stay at Safety, he already has one year of learning the safety spot why start over and make him learn a new spot. Also Culber is undersized at the WILL, and would be extremely undersized playing SAM. Who is going to take Asante's spot at safety, the only safeties we have returning besides Asante and Thenarse are Matt O'Hanlon and Eric Hagg, I would much rather see Asante on the field instead of O'Hanlon or Hagg. Also we have a lot of young talent at LB why put another good player at that spot and just keep one of those talented young guys off the field, when we could have someone like Blake Lawrence and Asante on the field at the same time. Callahan did the same thing with Culbert this year when he moved him to RB when we had plenty of depth their and Major jsut sat on the bench, when he could have been making plays on D.
  11. If we get the older Pelini we will get the younger Pelini, and this is a good thing.
  12. Rickey Thenarse told Sean Callahan "I just hope the new coach plays the best players". That kinda makes you wonder about who Callahan let play. Callahan seemed to play the kids that could learn the playbook, and instead of simplifying the system, Callahan would just play the players that new the system but werent neccesarily the most talented.
  13. wow, that is some sh#t cyclone. well said and true. we need that killer attitude back in the D. How can you say something like this, it is just retarded. You might not mean this but the way you are wording your statement about recruiting, you sound like you are saying we should not recruit a player if rivals gives this guy 4 or 5 stars. Are you saying we should take away the scholarship offers to guys like Baker Steinkuhler, Simi Kuli, or Will Compton just because rivals ranks these guys as 4 and 5 star players. Also do you think we should have never offered guys like Demario Williams(5 stars), Fabian Washington(4 stars) or Jay Moore(4 stars) just because rivals gave these guys alot of stars. A few other guys that come to mind that rivals rated high, and they played great at Nebraska, were Barrett Ruud, Cory Ross, Josh and Daniel Bullocks, Toniu Fonoti, Trevor Johnson and the list could go on forever. So just because we have gotten a few guys lately who are rated high but did not pan out(Andre Jones, Harrison Beck, Justin Tomerlin, Leon Jackson) this doesnt mean we should stop recruiting highly rated kids. We just need highly rated kids that fit our system, and BC probably put a little to mush emphasis on a kids talent and not enough on their character. How Nebraska coaches should recruit is they should go out and find the most talented players that fit the Nebraska mold. They need to look at the most talented kids, and then when they find these kids they need to start evaluating them and determine which of these top athletes are hard working kids, that are coachable, and have desire to play the game. After evaluating the top athletes in the country(4 and 5 stars), then start looking for kids that are flying under the radar, who have potential and once again fit the hard working, Nebraska mold. *I would also like to say that before NU starts looking all over the nation for players they first need to get all the great athletes in the state of Nebraska to come to NU and then venture all over the country to find kids. I mean Iowa State beat us in 2004 and 3 of their best players were all from Nebraska(Stevie Hicks-RB, Jon Davis-WR, and Nick Leaders-DL). All these guys started and played well against NU that year. So lets get kids with the most talent, and the most character possible. The most talent and character possible based on the number of stars Rivals gives them? My ass...who are those experts at Rivals anyway and who are they to be able to determine who the best recruits are? They're number crunchers...bean counters. Where's the ranking for determination? Where's the number for pride? Where's the calculation that says how quick somebody is going to get up after they get their butt kicked on the field a couple of times? Without looking I can almost be certain that Rivals would have ranked Callahan as a five star coach just based on the numbers. Nebraska was always capable at finding those lower tier recruits that may not be the most gifted athletes...but they had the heart and work ethic that made them play over their heads because they were proud of being a part of Husker football. That's something that you can't get off a web site. Where in my statement did I say anything about recruiting players based on the number of stars rivals gives them. The only thing rivals does is hold camps and look at film of these kids and they say well they have good numbers and they can perform in the game so they get blank number of stars. Rivals ranks athletic ability not heart, drive, or determination. Ask anyone who knows anything about football and they will tell you that speed and athletic ability kills, but if that ability is given to a kid how just gives up then it will do him no good. On the flip side i dont want a bunch of slow, short, weak players who try really hard, cause i guarentee you whenever we play USC or Texas we will get punished cause our kids jsut wont be able to compete. So like i said in the first response is we need the most talented kids, with the most character=drive, desire, determination. So if the coaches find a kid that works really hard, never quits on a play, is tough as nails, and rivals just happens to give this kid 5 stars then i want him on our team cause according to the coaches he has character and according to rivals he is very athletic, and that is what we need. *Callahan put too much emphasis on a kids athletic ability and not enough on the kids character and that is why everyone said this year that we have talent on this team(which we do) but they were quitting cause they didnt have the drive that is needed around here.
  14. I dont want to turn this into a Solich disscussion, but if TO would have down some searching outside the program for his succesor instead of handing it to Frank Solich I think we would have been fine. I know he wanted to do it like Devany and keep the job in the family, but just think if he went out and got Monte Kiffin as our HC. We would have gotten the yougner more fiery version of Monte Kiffin, and then we could have had Lane Kiffin on the staff, Bo Pelini probably comes in after Mcbride retired. that would have been money. I know the past is past, so i should just let it go, but how sweet could that have been.
  15. I am not for sure but I never saw Jared Crick, Demetrious Davis, Marcel Jones, Curenski Gilleylen, Terrence Moore, Marcus Mendoza, Austin Stafford, Shawn Sullivan, Patrick Witt, or William Yancy on the field. I am not positive but i beleive all these guys never lost the redshirt.
  16. if you have a pass to rivals and can read the latest Josh Williams(DE commit from Texas) update, he is being recruited by Gilmore and Williams made it sound like the Coach Gilmore is doing the respectable thing and doing some recruiting for the university, but he doesnt expect to be back next year. I have no idea which coaches are staying but I could seem Watson staying on maybe. Bill Busch has a good chance i think cause he is a great recruiter and is the special teams coach right now and our special team played very well this year.
  17. i just threw in about 30 for TO, just to be on the safe side
  18. umm.....i am pretty sure that almost every team from the Pac 10 and the Big 10 only play 3 non-conference games, while most of the teams from the Big 12 and SEC all play 4 non-conference games. However i do agree that the Pac 10 and Big 10 should play a title game, it is BS that these other conferences have to play that game and the Big 10 and Pac 10 can jsut sit there and make it to a NC game without earning it on the field.
  19. wow, that is some sh#t cyclone. well said and true. we need that killer attitude back in the D. How can you say something like this, it is just retarded. 20. This might take you a while to read but i bet it will make you look forward to next year. I am very optimistic every year for Nebraska football and this year is no different. I think with a new coach we can have a great year. I dont think we have to worry about a coach coming in and trying to change the entire culture again cause there is no way TO hires another coach like Callahan who only knows how to do things one way. I think our new coach will have a different offensive philosophy but he wont come in like Callahan and try to force a "square peg in a round hole". I beleive TO will hire a guy who will adjust his scheme to the players we have right now and will slowly adjust the scheme as we get the right guys in here. So i think next year could turn out great and look something like this: San Jose St(home)- W N Mexico St(home)- W V Tech(home)- L West Mich(home)- W Mizzou(home)- undecided Tex Tech(away)-L ISU(away)- W Baylor(home)- W OU(away)- L Kansas(home)- undecided KSU(away)- W Colorado(home)- W So if we have a bad season and lose to KU and MU at home we finish 7-5.... not bad, but if we have a good season and beat both KU and MU at home then we go 9-3(same record the last time Pelini was in Lincoln) I did some research before i filled this out and this is why I think we could go 9-3 next year. The coach next year will have a lot to work with next season: Everything starts upfront so lets start there, on the O-line we lose two starters(Carl Nicks and Brett Byford), but our O-line should be solid if we can get a better blocking scheme. -RT and LT should be filled by Lydon Murtha and Jaivorio Burkes with Mike Smith and Marcell Jones pushing for playing time -RG and LG should be Matt Slauson and Jacob Hickman with Keith Williams, D.J. Jones and Mike Huff all pushing for playing time -C is the question mark, hopefully someone will step in for Byford and do a good Job. A team will only go as far as the Quarterback will take them, and i dont think we have to worry about our QB holding us back. -Starting QB is probably going to to be Joey Ganz, partly because he is about 3 steps ahead of everyone else with his playing experience and partly becuase he can fit into about any system. He is mobile enough to run the spread and he has a good enough arm to be a pocket passer. Behind Ganz we have Zac Lee and Patrick Witt pushing eachother real hard for the backup spot. Running back should be no problem at all(as long as Lucky stays.... well even if he doesnt we would be OK). We return every single back who had a carry this year, and get Kenny Wilson back. -Starting RB will be Lucky(as long as he is here). Lucky lead the team in rushing with 1,019 yards and 9 TD's, but he also led the team in receiving with 75 receptions for another 705 yards. So getting the leading rushers and receiver back would help a lot. Behind Lucky things are looking pretty good also, we will have Quentin Castille, Roy Helu, Kenny Wilson, and Cody Glenn all competeing for carries. That has to be encouraging!!! -At FB(which i hope we use a little more) we have Thomas Lawson returning with the Little Makovica brother, Justin Makovica trying to keep the FB job in the family. Tight end might be another question mark coming into the season, hopefully we can find another Sean Hill and have someone step up and be very reliable. Also it would be great to get rid of this H-Back crap and just go back to a true Tight End -TE could be filled by Hunter Teafatiller or Josh Mueller, both seem to be more traditional TE's. Look for Mike McNeil, Ryan Hill or even walk on Dreu Young to get some playing time. Wide Reciever is probably where NU will take the biggest hit next year. Losing Mo Purify hurts bad and there is no way to replace a guy like that, and losing Terrence Nunn and Franz Hardy doesnt help much either. However we still have some reliable guys and hopefully we have some playmakers on the sideline right now just waiting for their chances. -At WR we will have two very sure handed guys in Nate Swift and Todd Peterson at the X spot. Hopefully Niles Paul can live up to his billing and step in as a play maker at the Z spot or maybe have Chris Brooks or Curenski Gilleylen be a deep threat. Then we also have two big bodied receivers who have tremendous upsides in Menelik Holt and Will Henry. So the WR corp will be a little inexperienced but they have a ton of potenial. On the defensive side of the ball things might even be more encouraging than the offense, and atleast it cant get any worse. With a new defensive philosophy and a little passion for the game we could have a good defense again and then i can finally call our D the blackshirts again. Our defensive line could go from being our biggest weakness on defense to being the strength of our D. We have every single starter back along the D-line and almost all of the backups back also. -At DE we return both starters in Zach Potter and Barry Turner along with both back ups Clayton Sievers and Pierre Allen. Also look for Simi Kuli(top JUCO player in the nation) to step in and provide a much needed pass rush, or challenge for a starting spot. William Yancy could also be a pass rush specialist. *I think we will see our D-ends might drop a few pounds and gain some speed, hopefully getting away from the big slow D-Linemen model that we have right now and put some pressure on the QBs. -DT should be solid with Ty Steinkuhler and Ndamukong Suh to return as starters, with Shukree Barfield and Kevin Dixon to provide a potent second wave of DTs. Linebacker will take the biggest hit due to graduation(losing Bo Ruud, Corey Mckoen, Steve Octavien, and Lance Brandenburgh), but i dont think there will be a huge drop off from last year to this year. Losing Octavien and Brandenburgh will hurt but Ruud and Mckeon are very replaceable. This unit will be young but hopefully we can have some kids step up and play well. -MLB spot will be filled by Phillip Dillard who will be a beast in the middle, with Nick Covey being a very good back up. If Dillard did not get hurt in the A&M game he would have started the rest of the year after taking over the job for the Okie State game. -SLB spot should be filled by either Tyler Wortman or Blake Lawrence, both Wortman and Lawrence got playing time during Ruud's injury. -WLB spot should be filled by Major Culbert who after being moved from safety to RB during his freshman year and then going back from RB to the defensive side of the ball and was Steve Octavien's backup at the end of the season. So with Culbert having a winter to put on a little extra muscle and learning the LB position he could be a force on D with the speed this guy has. Look for LaTravis Washington to back Culbert up at this spot *Also remember the names Austin Stafford and Thomas Grove, both good players and could get some playing time. The secondary should be solid next year with some big hits and with some pressure from the D-line hopefully we can turn this D back into a ball hawking D like we were in 2003. Cornerbacks should be very solid eventhough we will lose 3 good DB's(Courtney Grixby, Zac Bowman, and Andre Jones). Even with those losses we should still have experience at CB and some very good backups. - The CB spots will be filled by Armando Murillo and Anthony Blue. Murillo was probably the most consisten DB this year and had a very solid year coming outta the JUCO ranks. Blue worked hard all year and took over the starting spot for the final two games and played solid in both games. Look for Anthony West, Prince Amuakamara, and Shawn Sullivan to be solid backups at CB. Safety will be solid for NU even with the loss of one starter(Tierre Green) and two solid backups(Ben Eisenhart and Bryon Wilson). But this position could be scary with some hardhitting kids roaming NU's secondary. -SS will be filled by Larry Asante who is a hard hitter and was the second leading tackler with 71 stops. Asante will just get better after a year of experience under his belt and an offseason to become a more polished safety(he played LB in JUCO and was a little rushed to learn the safety spot). -FS should be Rickey Thenarse who was a headhunter on special teams and will continue this in the defensive backfield. The only thing that kept Thenarse off the field in 2007 was his mental mistakes in practice and hopefully another year will help him mature and cut back on those mistakes. Eric Hagg should provide a great back up to both safty spots. *So look for some big hits coming from the safety spot next year and hopefully they will make opposing WRs think twice about coming across the middle. Special teams should be solid again next year just like it was this year. -Dan Titchener returns as the starting punter after averaging 41.0 yards per punt. -Adi Kunalic returns as the kickoff specialist after putting 27 of 60 kickoffs in the endzone for a touchback. -Alex Henery returns as the field goal kicker after a year where he didnt miss a single kick, Henery was 40-40 on PAT's and 8-8 on field goals. Losing Grixby will hurt our kick returning, he was a very dangerous weapon in the field position battle, but we will have some very talented young returners. Look for Marcus Mendoza, Prince Amukamara, Niles Paul and Ricky Thenarse all to give the offense great field position. Another reason I am so optimistic about next season is because we have a much weaker schedule next year than we did this year. The BigXII North will be far down next year compared to the resurgence we saw this year. Also we have 8 home games in 2008 and that includes games against Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado all in Lincoln. -KSU losses 4 starters on offense including Jordy Nelson who was KSU's leading reciever by far with 122 receptions(#2 had 57 receptions) and James Johnson-KSU's leading rusher with 1,106 yards. On defense KSU loses 6 starters including two DEs, one LB, and 3 DBs. -Missouri losses 3 starting O-Linemen, along with TE-Martin Rucker(leads the team in receiving with 75 receptions), RB-Tony Temple(leads the team in rushing) and William Franklin(4th leading receiver). MU loses 3 starters on the defensive side of the ball. -Iowa St. is a team that has been down recently but people have been saying they wont be a guarenteed win next year. They were a very young team this year but i still cant see ISU beating NU. The Cyclones will only lose 3 starters on offense by out of those 3, one is starting QB Brett Meyer (the backup QB this year for ISU was a freshmen), and another is Todd Blythe one of the leading receivers for ISU and their biggest offensive threat with 5 TD. ISU will lose 5 starter on the defensive side of the ball. -Kansas is another team that really put it to the huskers this year but i think NU has a great chance to beat next year. Kansas is probably the most improved team this year but i still dont think they are the 7th best team in the nation. KU was very young this year and will only lose 4 starters on offense but they will lose 2 of their top 3 recievers(Marcus Henry and Derek Fine) and their top rusher(Brandon McAnderson). KU's defense is definetly the weak spot and they will only lose 1 starter but we did not have much trouble moving the ball on them. -Colorado is another young team with only 8 senoirs on both sides of the ball. But they will lose 3 of their top 5 receivers, also they will lose their top rusher and biggest playmaker, Hugh Charles. The Buffaloes also lose 3 starters on defense including one of the top defenders in the nation in Jordan Dizon. So eventhough the Huskers lose 4 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense, I think next year could be a very good year. P.S. Remember the glass is half full.
  21. I for one have said just about the whole time that Callahan should be fired, but i am just curious how many people wanted to keep Callahan? When Solich got fired i bet about half wanted him to stay wanted him and stay and half wanted him gone. So was just curious about the percentage of people who wanted Callahan to stay?
  22. I wouldnt mind seeing Petito as some assitant coach, maybe O-line or something. However there is no way you can go from head coach of a highschool football team to the head job a one of the biggest college football programs in the nation. Petito could be a great college coach, but that is way to big of a risk, i mean people talk about Pelini or Gill being a risk and they are both coaching college football.
  23. I really hope they get one of those NFL guys and they try to bring the NFL system to the college game and then the LSU fans will know what we are going throuh
  24. woe, woe, better now than four years ago. I will give you that we do have more talent this year than we did 4 years ago. Being 5-6 and possibly not going to a bowl for the second time in four years, and all the crap that has gone on this year. I really dont think that is a better situation than coming off a win at the Alamo, and a 10-3 season. Also i guarentee you that we would have gotten talent at NU pretty quick, no matter who the coaches were. The reason we were so down in 2002 was becuase i think Frank Solich started thinking that kids would jsut come to Nebraska just because it was Nebraska. I think he realized and started recruiting hard again but it was too late for Steve Pederson.
  25. In the words of Frank Caliendo (as Charles Barkley) "That was ter-able, TRBL, terable" IF you have never heard this guy you have to watch this video. (he does the ter-able Charles Barkley impression at 3:15) Watch this its awesome!!
