  1. I don't know. I voted no, simply because the hill was so steep, and their offense completely stopped after Brax got hurt. Bauserman is.... not good.
  2. I'm not trying to be too hard on him. I don't mean it to come off that way. He did put it in there quite nicely, and Enunwa did have his guy(s) beat.
  3. Yeah, that weapon is pretty awesome. I've never been lucky enough to see one used live, though.
  4. Oh. My. God. That's ridiculously wide open, and Martinez threw it into what amounted to triple coverage. It just makes you sigh. Like I said. This game wasn't proof that he's there. He just made progress. Baby steps.
  5. I have the game on DVR, and I'm DVRing the replay (because it's shorter, so I can keep it), but I'd love to be able to access ESPN3 for this HD online version. Apparently we don't get it in Lincoln?
  6. Poor Joe. There was blood in the water when Brax went out. I was shouting "GO GET BAUSERMAN!!!!!" at the top of my lungs when he came in. Probably yelled that every play he was in there. The guy is as mobile as the Venus de Milo, but with worse arms.
  7. I'll ask it. If there were F-18s flying around all day Friday doing what looked like test-runs, and F-18s flying around all morning on Saturday, why did they use A-10s for the flyby?
  8. Holy crap. Makes you wonder - have you ever seen Ankrah and Will.I.Am in the room together at the same time? Hmmm?
  9. This is utter crap. It may very well be crap. It is not utter crap. Mostly I thought it was funny, the whole Dirk/Taylor thing. The "where your loyalties lie" was over-the-top hyperbole, and zoogies took me to task for it already. If you want to grind on me for that post, you'll have to get in line.
  10. Agree, both with how fascinating this topic is and with the possible beginnings of this division.
  11. This is nothing new. Shatel was doing this a long time ago. They have always been the stirrers of the pot.
  12. skers, you're the same age as my dad. He just had his shoulder redone, and it made a world of difference to his golf game. Hope your replacement works out for you.
  13. I would also suggest that Dirk (and the rest of the local press) dedicate about ten times the number of column inches to the defense than they do to the offense, or any particular player, over the next week. The defense hemorrhages yards and points. But all we hear about is the other side of the ball. Let's change the focus of the conversation, folks.
  14. So..... we gonna hug this out? EDIT - and I don't think anyone here is the bad guy - you, me, or anyone else. I just disagree with the opinion.
  15. skers, I'm not even close to being "old," and I can already see the writing on the wall. This stupid body changes. It gets harder to shout for four quarters. I still don't have my voice back from Saturday, nearly 48 hours later. I have to stop and take a breath after walking up 85 rows to my seats, when I used to run the South Stadium steps, up, down and back up back in the day. My dad is 64 and doesn't shout along with me. He just can't anymore. It changes. I don't know about you, skers, but I still feel like I did when I was 25. A little more experience to guide my opinions maybe, but otherwise I'm still the same guy. But physically, I'm not that guy anymore. And I do not like it.
  16. The way I see it is this: If they don't want to stand up and cheer, or are physically unable to, that's fine. They paid for their ticket, I can't deny them the right to use it. That said, if they have an issue with people doing exactly what people come to the game to do, and decide to voice their concern, then maybe it is time for them to get a little more friendly with Mr. Television Set. I agree very much with this. If they're physically unable to stand up, or to make noise, that's one thing. But yes, if they can't and expect me not to, too, then that's a problem. And at that point, it's time to really, really consider that easy chair by the big screen, because nobody will block your view, nobody will cheer too loud, and you can get to the can in about two seconds, not 20 minutes.
  17. Dirk insinuated that if Martinez fails, Bo should suffer the consequences. "The stakes are high Saturday night for the coach and his quarterback. Pelini hitched his program to Martinez." This is what I'm on about - the article was written in an unnecessary manner.
  18. Agree that Bo shouldn't openly antagonize the press for no reason. I wish he didn't do this. But if that leads to tainted journalism, that's on the press, not Bo. These men are adults, professionals. As much as Bo should behave better, they should also behave better. It's an ugly situation all around.
  19. What is the media going to do to Bo? Let's say the World Herald declares war on Bo Pelini (for argument's sake). So? What are they going to do? The more they try to get into it with him, the worse they're going to look. It's not a matter of Bo has to placate the press, because Bo doesn't depend on the press to do his job. The press depends on Bo more than he needs them. If the World Herald fell completely out of favor with Bo, and Bo kept winning and producing solid young men, the World Herald loses, not Bo.
  20. Not saying you do, Po. I don't recall you ever joining in a "blue hair" conversation, so I wasn't trying to link you to that. I just think it's pretty much the same thing.
  21. That's probably the worst of what Dork did over the weekend. The article was crap, but not horribly so. He knew before the game that it had pissed Bo off. So when the post-game presser comes, he doesn't ask a question like the rest of the schmoes in the press corps, he peppers Bo with what? Seven questions in about 30 seconds? zoogies made a transcript of it, so if anyone wants to go read that and correct me on the number, go ahead. Absurd questions like "Hey Bo, what impressed you the most about Taylor tonight?" which is what he opened up with. Bo responded, "You watched the game. You figure it out, huh? What do you think?" They got into it a bit after that and neither comes out looking the better for it. I think you're quoting the wrong guy. I didn't say Dirk's question was absurd. Agree that neither guy looked good after that. It should have been handled privately, with a civil discussion. But Bo is who Bo is.
  22. Is this any different than those fans who criticize the "blue hairs" for telling people to sit down and shut up? To me it's the flip side of the same coin.
  23. And that's worse than embracing a reporter who is doing his job so poorly that other guys in the press box are calling him out for "yellow journalism," and other reporters are applauding his public dressing-down? There were a million ways Dork could have written that article, and another million ways to have responded in that presser. He chose to instigate and dump gas on the fire he created. I have zero problem calling that out. If you think I'm the bad guy for doing this, that's on you.
  24. I still haven't watched the second half against Wiscy. I deleted it off one of my DVRs. Still have it on another, but probably won't watch it. I know exactly how you feel.
  25. I find it extremely humorous that my "overly dramatic language" draws your ire, but Dirk's doesn't. Just pretend I'm writing an "opinion piece" in a newspaper. Then you'll love every word. Right?
